I set the correct 40 man, lineups, bench, starters and bullpen for opening day outside of franchise mode in the roster file itself. Once in franchise during spring training you have to manually cut guys for all 30 teams using 30 team control until you get back to the original 26 guys like it was before you started franchise. Once you do that the roster is set up exactly like it was before you started franchise.

Re: Franchise Fidelity to Reality Roster Project (Official Thread)
I can appreciate this, but if this roster has some kind of major issue it would be pretty weird to just leave it unmentioned & unaddressed in this thread because we don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. This game is a massive time-sink and choosing a roster is a big deal.
I’m here because 1. I heard this roster was dope and 2. I heard there is a severe problem with vision ratings being so low across the board that slider tweaks are needed, which is the opposite of dope.
So here we are. Are we allowed to ask this or nah? Slurping only? No concerns? Perfect roster in every way? K.Mets Baseball, All Day Every Day

Legend, I’m curious why you are starting your franchise with the SDS roster update rather than these rosters?Comment

It’s not the opposite of dope lol. In case you haven’t noticed, there are a crazy amount of strikeouts in this league. There is also a wide variety of skill levels that play with these rosters
Again, myself and many others are having perfectly normal strikeout games. Hell, I even struggle to strikeout opposing hitters at times if the pitchers aren’t strong enough.
Enough playing with your sliders will strike the perfect balanceComment

Re: Franchise Fidelity to Reality Roster Project (Official Thread)
I have used armor and swords sliders for everything. The sim came out well. I mean teams that should win won and teams that should not have not. The prospects side pitchers did really well the top guys in AAA and AA. The batters side in AAA top guys did well to hit for power and average. in AA the top guys hit for power but very few hit for average. The strikeout numbers were a bit high but the league strikes out a lot now so not sure that is even an issue. From a sim stand point I liked it. Seemed solid.Mets Baseball, All Day Every Day

I usually run one with the Mets and one with someone else.
But right now I been doing what I always do first when I use someone else rosters I run sims for the first 3 to 5 years cause I like to see how things develop before I am 180 games actually played deep into things.Mets Baseball, All Day Every Day

I do use these. I run two franchises one with these and one with either SDS or if I get lazy I will use ridin on the other ones.

For opening day there were only a few players that needed moving around, I don't remember the exact number but it wasn't many.Comment

It has been a weeks since drop and we are already closing in on the first page for top downloaded rosters!
Thank you all for the support. I want to hear any feedback y’all might have, and the best place to drop that is gonna be in the discord under the “roster-talk” tab. Come on over an leave your thoughts!
Hope all of your franchises are going wellComment

Re: Franchise Fidelity to Reality Roster Project (Official Thread)
Here's my feedback...
You did a good job creating the roster and the missing guys etc, everything's fine for the most part. Sims stats are in the realm of believable so that's a good thing. I like your approach to ratings. The lower vision leads to more swings and misses / strikeouts which was sorely missing in the default rosters. I spent the better part of a month tweaking my sliders to my liking to play with the default roster and they seem to be ok with your roster as well.
Having said all that... There were a couple dudes on the wrong team and I had to add a handful of missing players which isn't a big deal, but I also had to manually adjust the opening day 40 man, starters rotation, bullpen (to the best of my ability because we have 26 guys instead of 28), lineups and bench warmers. In my opinion, setting the correct opening day 40man, mlb pitchers and lineups is just as important as re-rating people and should be an integral part of the roster and not left up to the people that decide to use it.
I like them and will use them all year but next year you might want to consider some of the things I said and not be in a rush to get them out asap if that means cutting corners. The end goal should be to create the best / most accurate (opening day) roster possible.Comment
