Re: Franchise Fidelity to Reality Roster Project (Official Thread)

I have a question about ratings. I always start with the roster resource projected 40 man and go from there but I had to download 7 players from the vault that weren't included in your roster. To keep those players in line with the rest of the roster attribute wise, is it at all possible you could rate those players. They are as follows...

    ATL Travis Demeritte
    WSH Victor Arano
    SDP Robert Suarez
    TBR Colin Poche
    LAA Ty Buttrey
    SEA Matthew Festa
    SEA Joey Gerber

Also missing was CIN James Marinan but there wasn't a CAP in the vault when I looked.

I tried contact at 6 and it still felt like to many strikeouts. Contact at 7 was too much, especially for the CPU.

Viator I know you said a boost to timing was something you were looking at, have you had any luck with that?

My gameplays have felt smooth as butter. Only things I’ve changed after a couple games are the CPU contact/power/timing/solid hits up by 1 and user control/consistency down 1. But I’m a pretty elite pitcher in this game ngl

Biggest adjustments to make are hitter vision. Generically, I would decrease whatever value they have by ~18. As far as overalls, you can use the tiers I described in the original post to set a player to whatever overall you think he deserves

Alright so finally finished my 3 year simulation process with these to see how prospects progress.

Now I have no idea if this is how it is meant to be based on the roster and the ratings changes, if it is a product of the game itself. Just what I noticed

I would sim each season and then review all teams top 10 prospects to see how it is going.

Pitching prospects hold up very well in both AAA and AA. They put up solid stats and seem to do well. So great shape on the pitchers

Hitting Prospects is where you see a difference. In AAA they put up good power and hitting for average numbers. In AA they only put up some power numbers but the averages area all almost under .260 expect for one here and there.

Not sure if that is by design but it is a cool thing to follow and see how the progress from AA to AAA

It’s not necessarily by design, but I’m not mad at all at that! That’s really how it kinda goes in real life. Thanks for posting your results man! Let me know if you dive into future years because I’m curious to see more!

I would think .260 is a slightly above average MLB hitter so that seems fair to me

It’s roughly league average. Just slightly higher. But average BA has been dropping in recent seasons and is now encroaching on .240ish

So what’s the consensus? Is this roster a huge success or just a nice try?

Any roster that guys put hours into and release are a huge success- whether or not it’s your cup of tea is for you to decide but asking questions like this is what keeps creators from doing more

I find it hard to believe that people are that sensitive about these things. The rosters had a bit of hype, I am curious to know if others are enjoying it, able to use them for a realistic franchise, seeing good or bad things. With the amount of work put in it would be a huge success if these rosters were an A+ and a real nice try either way.

My personal experiences with them is that they are insanely good. Lots of positive feedback from others as well

Is there a work-around as far as starting a new Franchise with this roster and it actually starting the season with it's current configuration? When I get out of Spring Training or skip ST all together, it resets the rosters in a very basic, video games type of way. Top rated players in the Majors and what not. Other than going team by team, is there any other way?
Thanks so much for the work you put in. It is greatly appreciated.

Don’t skip ST. Cut 40 man down to the 26 you want.

I can appreciate this, but if this roster has some kind of major issue it would be pretty weird to just leave it unmentioned & unaddressed in this thread because we don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. This game is a massive time-sink and choosing a roster is a big deal.

I’m here because 1. I heard this roster was dope and 2. I heard there is a severe problem with vision ratings being so low across the board that slider tweaks are needed, which is the opposite of dope.

So here we are. Are we allowed to ask this or nah? Slurping only? No concerns? Perfect roster in every way? K.
                                Just one man’s opinion.
I don’t actually care about any of this.
