Pitchers don't get injured enough in general, but I digress.

A couple of years ago, I started manually injuring relievers to compensate, but it's a lot of work and there are limited DL spots in-game.

It's a game engine issue that is pesky and we've tried our best to fix it with partial success, using roster edits and sim slider edits.

Have you tried severely restricting the staminas of RPs? From my testing, the average RP shouldn't have a stamina >30 unless he's a LRP. Values around 20 will roughly keep RP outings to about 1ish IP/app when they are in the MRP slot of the bullpen

      Yes

Our cap for relievers was 30 stamina last year, with a low of 20, except for long relievers

It helped but didn't really solve the issue

I've found that the biggest problem is relievers don't get hurt and there's no penalty for overusing them
But aside from that, the AI seems to only use one SU so the innings are unevenly distributed across the bullpen. Closers are also never used in non save situations for the most part.

So it's really a myriad of issues
I just accept the bullpen usage for what it is at this point and I do think the league is trending towards using relievers a lot more.

Try setting up bullpens like this:

        LRP1: True long reliever/6th starter
LRP2: low leverage RP w/ low stamina
        MRP1: secondary set-up pitcher
        MRP2: tertiary set-up pitcher
        MRP3: low-mid leverage pitcher
MRP4: Lefty reliever (regardless if he would be a secondary set-up pitcher)
        SU: Primary set-up pitcher
        CP: Closer

MRP1 and SU will get the most “holds”. MRP4 will get preferential usage since he is a lefty and will get a decent amount of holds. MRP2/3 and LRP2 will get few holds. LRP1 gets tons of IP usage, but that’s ok. LRP2 will also get a lot of usage, but that’s ok as well since it’s mop up duty/low leverage stuff anyways

I used this setup last year and thought the final numbers looked really good

Yes, in order to "solve" the issue you need to manage the bullpens for the CPU. I've seen setups like this and they do help.

But stamina edits and slider edits alone don't solve it.

I started making some 4th and 5th SP having stamina off 55 and 2 LRP pitchers at 35/40, depending on the teams situation.

I'm in 2024 in my franchise that started on Show 18. The Indians have a ton of young arms that should be in the bigs. This way the arms get can innings to "build up" arms.

But don't they lose stamina as they progress?

I tried the trick someone posted of removing the LR slots and having your worst pitcher in SU2 slot.

So far the innings pitched have been balanced with SU2 getting fewest innings. I also have no RP over 30 stamina.

My only concern is I might need to bump RP stamina a little as RPs are coming in tired (even thought their bars are at about 75%...but small sample size (10 games) on this so I will monitor.

I like that your Sliders are set to max pitch speeds, almost all the slider sets on this forum says User preference, which I consider silly, or at default..which to me is hitting at a snail's pace.

I guess this bullpen setup works really well....

Bigdawg1690 shared his bullpen setup with us and we are using that for our franchise. It lets the AI use MRP guys in the middle innings instead of always their LRP. You have to do 30 man control and set lineups to manual. Otherwise, they will reset the spots. We have tested this and the AI will bring in their MRP guys in tied or close games in the 5th or 6th innings. They will even bring in their good RP when they are losing in a close game. Please feel free to ask us if you have any questions.

Put your 3 lowest rated RP pitchers that have less than 40 stamina in the 3 LRP spots.
Take out all the pitchers in the SU1 and SU2 spots.
Put your closer in the closer spot like normal.
Put your highest rated RP’s in the MRP spots.
I put the LRP pitcher in the MRP3 or MRP4 spot.

Cy are you using your same exact setup sliders from 21 in 22 or have you uploaded a set for 22? Im on xbox now and since its cross platform all rosters, sliders etc are downloadable on all platforms, when i checked i didnt see your set up?
I stream a variety of video games for relaxation and fun.

Yeah. But everyone does. So yearly I gotta fix the stamina anyway.

This is more helpful for people who ran 32 team franchise I would think.

Would anyone be willing to explain how to activate 2 profiles at once to do 30 team control?

I have 2 active profiles (Xbox) but whenever I switch the game restarts and I can’t seem to figure out how to set it up. I did watch a video from MLB The Show 14 from this thread but it doesn’t seem to apply for ‘22 or maybe Xbox.

Is it possible that on Xbox things aren’t the same as PS? Really want the 2 profiles so I can just tinker when necessary instead of micromanaging every team, every day.

                            Thank you for any help.

We're making good progress on it and laying ground work for the roster, so Jeff and I are both working simultaneosly to update the sheet for this season and make headway in-game
