Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 24
Looking at the Rangers (admittedly I am biased there), and looking at the some of the other players in the league, I am struggling to understand how Corey Seager (38.5 HR/162 over the last three years, with last year double-weighted) has a 76/85 power rating, or Adolis Garcia (36.7) has a 75/72, while Gavin Sheets (with just 18 HR/162) has 80/72, and Mike Trout (only 10% higher than Seager at 42.7) has 99/96 (20% higher). Is there a mistake somewhere, or is there a lot more to the power ratings than the HR/162?
Also, over last three years (weighted) Seager has had better numbers vs RHs (1 HR/15.3 ABs) than vs LHs (1HR/18.4 ABs); wondering the if the 76/85 power is flipped on him?
Seager has had better isolated power vs lefties two of the last 3 seasons:
2023 - Iso vs left .218, iso vs right .333
2022 - iso vs left .250, iso vs right .191
2021 - iso vs left .217, iso vs right .214
Mike Trout has had 45 HR/162 over the past 3 seasons. His isolated power numbers vs righties are also pretty gaudy. He had an Iso vs righties of .398(!!) 2 seasons ago.
Sheets' power (unedited) would be 60 vs righties. I boosted him. If I didn't, the CPU wouldn't play him as DH. In fact, his raw ratings wouldn't get him in the lineup at all.
Feel free to edit the Rangers and/or Sheets if you like, but thought I'd chime in to explain why.Last edited by Cycloniac; 04-21-2024, 01:31 AM.Comment

Update: AL East and AL Central ready to go. 2 teams done in AL West.
Will keep polshing tomorrow depending on how much free time I have. Hoping for tomorrow release, but getting the teams to stick the way I want in franchise takes trial and error. May need an extra day or two guys.Comment

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 24
Can we please make it so that all the rosters represent everything current. That would be super ideal. Especially after us waiting so long. I think its imperative to all of us that the rosters represent the MOST current and therefore the most accurate to what's happening around the league.
Like today, the Yankees claimed Taylor Trammell off waivers from the Dodgers, and even though I'm not going to be using the Yankees, I still think something of a move that minor makes a massive impact on our realism.
Love the effort with the prospects, ratings, gear/equipment, stances, pitch styles, etc... but Idk, me personally I think we would ALL LOVE it if the rosters represented the league RIGHT NOW as opposed to opening day. So much has happened in the league already.. forget injuries.. but at least the roster movement. Thats so important to me.Comment

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 24
So you are not double-weighting the last (2023) seasons in your ratings like is stated in the pinned top post? Seager has 36.4 HR/162 for the last 3 seasons (and Trout 45.1) if the most recent season is not double-weighted. Similarly with Seaver’s power splits, if the 2023 were double-weighted, that should have overridden the (for him, career iso vs right .225/vs left .198) somewhat abnormal 2022 season.Comment

Still something off if it is spitting out Seager with better power vs L than vs R. Even a flat three years, his iso vs R is .245, vs L .231.Texas Rangers/Chicago Cubs

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 24
Couple of questions. I saw you starting NL now, I went through the TTest4, every team looks like they’ve been done as far as player appearance and such. Am I right and if so, what more is being done with the rosters? Just wondering is all. Also, will you be adding the top international prospect the Braves signed last season … Perdomo ( SS ) I’m a diehard Braves… anyway look forward to starting once you’re done. I’ve started seasons with a few teams with different rosters made, but want to start my Braves with your roster Last edited by TripleXjewels; 04-21-2024, 07:01 PM.Comment
