I'm thinking of expanding these to 40-man rosters, as I'm out of fielding roster spots and keep getting new players, though I'm still short on pitchers. I'm on Book 4 of Gary Carter's Iron Mask, which has produced tons of new players for me. I will still take any suggestions posted here, but the latest is that Moved Montgomery Brewster and Spike Nolan (Brester's Millions) from Texas to Atlanta. Hackensack Bulls and Durham Bulls are merging into the Atlanta Braves. Two more Backyard Baseball kids will be added to the Texas team. And yes, I am back to work on this with short breaks for watching and reading things, also sometimes working on my greatest teams roster.

Re: Pop CulPture Fictional Rosters
I'm currently in the middle of watching a nice little independent film, Sugar (2008). I added Miguel Santos, Jorge Ramirez, Salvator Torres, and Brad Anderson to the Kansas City Royals team.
Oh, and Rube Rooky I put on the Philadelphia Phillies.Last edited by MysterioMan007; 11-02-2024, 11:12 PM.Comment

Re: Pop CulPture Fictional Rosters
Watched a pretty bad movie today called "Ball of Wax", but they had a few players in the movie that I decided to add to my expanding 40-man rosters with the Tampa Bay Rays (The team in the movie was the Carolina Devils):
1B Bret Packard
SP Ricky Sparks
SP Tod Ellis
2B Dickie Gold
SS Francis Filmore
3B Alex Foster
C Jed Pierson
RF Sal Reilly
CF Jacob Moss
Also created the following:
Joe McGorkle (Bull Durham)
Boone Hacker (Gary Carter's Iron Mask book series)
The reading stuff is what's taking me so long...Comment

Re: Pop CulPture Fictional Rosters
1983 episode of Magnum PI, "Squeeze Play". Just watched it. Decent episode, not the best not the worst. Just sort of a fun episode probably for Selleck to film. He plays in a ball game with Jerome ''Bad Friday'' Kapelwitz. He prefers Killer to Bad Friday. Magnum says he hit 35 homers for the White Sox and Killer says he's been retired for six years so that would make his last year 1977 I guess. Killer quit after getting into a fight with a reporter in Cleveland, lol. Couldn't remember if you already had him, but there he is. Big blonde guy, gotta be a first baseman or rightfielder. Tho he was pitching for Magnum's softball team, as a ringer.T-BONE.

Again, sorry for the wait to anyone who is waiting on this. It was offseason and I lost my motivation, but I'm back at it again. Just added 3-4 players from Zapped, the 1982 movie. I also added the kids from Monster Summer and the ballplayer from the horror film Thanksgiving. I'll wait to finalize the rosters as I get closer to completion. Planning on creating the Tigers and Yankees from For Love of the Game in the next couple of days. A lot of pausing and creating going to happen in that one. I also have to watch Everybody Wants Some! again despite not enjoying it the first time. Still a ton to read and will probably fill in the remaining pitchers from Bases Loaded Baseball on the NES.Comment

Re: Pop CulPture Fictional Rosters
It took me like 3-4 hours to watch For the Love of the Game with all the editing I was doing, but I think I got every major player from that movie done today. That one was a chore.Last edited by MysterioMan007; 04-06-2025, 09:50 PM.Comment

Re: Pop CulPture Fictional Rosters
Rewatched Everybody Wants Some! I enjoyed it a little more this time than the last one. Created everyone on the college team. Positions weren't mentioned or shown for every player, so I just kind chose one for the hitters who didn't mention where they played in the field. I think choosing to pace myself to maybe one movie or show a day was the best choice.Comment

Today, I discovered an old video game called Fighting Baseball for the SNES from a meme and it has some of the most ridiculous names that the Japanese makers thought sounded American, with gems like Bobson Dugnutt and Sleve McDichael. I've located an entire roster for this game and will use it instead of Bases Loaded to fill in the gaps on the roster. , though I kept the beast known as Paste for the game. I managed to finally create every kid from all 3 Sandlot movies. Still working, but still moving slowly due to work and other life events.👍 1Comment

I will see if I can locate Little House (looks to be on Prime and Peacock) and find that episode. In fact, I'm going to knock it out today and the two Quantum Leap episodes I never got to watch.

Can't believe I forgot him, haven't thought of him years.
