For example Steven Kwan vs. LHP last year .319/.392/.447 and averaged a HR every 31at bats is a is a 70 Con L and a 41 Pow L

Lane Thomas who hit .302/.386/.492 versus LHP and averaged a HR every 29abs last year is a 71 con L and 72 pow L (sure the doubles help the slugging but woudn't Kwan be a lot higher than a 41?

Also, Kwan is an 85 contact vs RHP while he hit .280 versus them and a 70 contact vs LHP while he hit .319

I'm not saying it should be perfect or not account for past 3 years of data but it seems like whoever is completing them is just going. Even if we go off Kwans career hes a .285 bav versus both RHP and LHP.
Handedness is factored in. Kwan is a lefty, so slight bump vs righties and nerf vs lefties.

    Kwan:
    1210 ABs vs R, 345 hits (.285)
    471 ABs vs L, 134 hits (.285)

Power is based on HRs per 162 games.

    Lane Thomas:
22 HRs per 162 games over last 3 seasons

    Steven Kwan:
9 HRs per 162 games over last 3 seasons

According to some direct info TheAntOrtiz got from SDS (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkuSLCJCDSk) it sounds like they have not updated the player progression/regression logic but SDS did give some explanation for how it works. Also they're going to be doing a similar fix on the default rosters to what y'all do with TrueSim which is increasing the POT of older star players so they regress more slowly.

        This is interesting

I wonder if potential will now have a stronger effect on the level of regression now. It'll be worth testing when the game comes out

Pre-ordered and waiting for these to release...I'll just stay with my franchise on 24. These are always well worth the wait.

I think folks will be really impressed with the rosters this year. Some fundamental under the hood tweaks with the ratings - not too many, but a few.

Baseball is cool in the sense that yes, you have your star players, but for the most part, teams have a lot of guys who play specific roles for their teams. We wanted that to shine through a bit more this year.

We also are more coordinated this year in terms of getting guys onboard to help with the CAPS, the equipment etc. We're trying to get going from day 1 when the game is out (assuming SDS has the key guys in at launch like Sasaki), so everyone can get franchises started.

                  I'm excited!

Do you include any guys who were will be in AAA but didn't play last year so they won't be on the default roster? Thinking of guys like Oscar Mercado who looks like he will be a depth guy for the Phillies this year.

Normally I am not a fan of YouTubers like antortiz but this was interesting.

I always figured they knew how progression and regression worked but never wanted to share because they only had a partial idea lol.

But I do wonder about upping potential on select 30 year olds to 99 to slow regression. They confirmed that essentially progression stops at 30.

This will definitely require some testing and although they didn't change anything with the system, it is good to know how the system is intended to function. It will lead to creating solutions for the system to function better. I will definitely be testing some of these ideas on March 18.

You know, I'm not sure it does stop at 30. Maybe natural progression, but stat-based progression can continue.

I pulled up my franchise the other day and saw a few players in their 30s progressing.

I think potential too high may even be too powerful sometimes for older players, so I'm not doing blanket 99s right now.

I meant natural progression. My bad. Stats definitely play factor, especially in that 31 to 33 year old range.

I may make 4 players who are 30 exactly have 90 or so potential and follow them just to see.

What’s the reasoning for the durability floor at 85? Baseball seems to be the one sport where if a guy is injury prone then he is INJURY PRONED. No fluke lucky 140+ games played seasons. I would like Trout, Buxton, Royce Lewis, etc to be making regular trips to the DL in my franchise

                                That's old, 85 isn't the floor anymore
