Cy..is Trent Grisham really a 50 speed? I see that SDS had him at 49 too. I thought SDS was way off until I saw yours. Has he slowed that much?

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 25
Really weird what SDS did with rosters this year…. Seeing numerous guys who haven’t played in MLB in years but are in the game right now with stats and face scan.
Why the hell not do this for everyone then??

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 25
His numbers on Baseball Savant do show it being that low. He is ranked 355th in sprint speed and has a percentage of 37 out of 100 thats in the blue. Blue meaning poor.

Perhaps his speed would be higher if he ran out every play.Comment

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 25
What tags will this roster be available under on each system?
Switch, XBox, PS5?
And will it only be available when competed, or will it be available as each team is updated?A healthy cow, lying on its side, is never immobilized. It can rise whenever it chooses.Comment

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 25
Noticed a lot of pitchers have their control on certain pitches lowered a ton. Will this affect gameplay a ton and have them throwing too many balls?
Also noticed the fastest players like Buxton and Carroll seem to be maxing out at 87 speed. Why the speed cap?"Friends dont let friends be packer fans"Comment

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 25
There isn't really a speed cap actually
We can tweak the high end of the speed curve a little bit, that's easy enough
EDIT: After looking at the sheet, the highest rated guy is Whitt at 97, followed by Rojas, Crow-Armstrong, Elly, Tyler Fitzgerald, Victor Scott and Clase (TOR) at 90+. I'm not sure the curve does need tweaking.
How much higher would you like it to be? Carroll is fast but not quite 99th percentile fast
All speeds are based on last season's sprint speed data from Baseball SavantLast edited by Cycloniac; 03-20-2025, 10:02 AM.Comment

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 25
Cy..couple questions.
Alot of relievers have high stamina compared with past rosters…what’s thinking this year?
It looks like you’ve gone back to the 50/25 speed ratings for slower players. I’m curious why they change this year as even players with zero speed are getting doubles as one would expect in the game this year. I haven’t seen anything crazy with the slower players.Comment

Also in your franchise mode, it should be clearer which guys you may wanna try in the rotation if you're considering a RP to SP switch.
For the 50/25, I think you're talking about steal and baserunning aggressiveness rather than speed, maybe? There's no speed minimum. I think a couple of guys are under 5 for speed.Last edited by Cycloniac; 03-20-2025, 12:12 PM.Comment

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 25
I removed the stamina cap. Main reason is I want guys who can picth multiple innings to stand out, AND I want guys who could potentially start to stand out too. We're seeing this a lot more now, guys moving from pen to rotation successfully. Reynaldo Lopez and Crochet being two notable examples. With bullpen management being better, even more reason to say goodbye to the cap. It was a band-aid for bad bullpen management anyway.

Thanks for explanation. Sorry yes I was confusing the two. I was referring to the steal and base aggressiveness. What’s thought on 50/25. I thought you changed that last year although I may be mistaken.Comment

Re: The TrueSim Roster Project: MLB 25
Yup, this was a change we started last year to encourage some steal attempts once in a while from guys who aren't your true base stealers, just based on the recent increase we've seen in base stealing in the MLBComment
