    LOL.

    Try it out.
I just played the final game of a 3 game set against the Marlins using Catcher Zoom. Not bad. I ended up sweeping the Marlins with scores of 2-0, 3-0 and 2-1. The third game was my worst game so far in terms of walks allowed. I walked 8 with Cole Hamels and 9 total overall. Double plays were my friend in this game with all of those walks. I only struck out 18 times in the 3 games. Very happy with that. My team batting average is now an even .200. Can hopefully only go up from there. Hard to believe I have won 2 World Series in The Show in the past with the way things were going this year. Haha.

Hopefully after a stretch using the Hybrid, I can get myself back up to All-Star hitting again.

Thanks to everyone for all the tips for a guy who was very frustrated. Even us veterans of The Show get there every now and then. Much appreciated.

What is the stride difficulty slider for? I do not get it, does this affect timing?

      PhilliesFan,
Glad that things are improving. What seemed to help the most?
Crazy how different this years game plays!
I am jealous, I have never won a World Series in The Show and been playing since '09 went twice with the Red Sox, the only team I ever used until last years game, and lost both the first in six games the second in five. I do not play with the Red Sox anymore cause it brings me down too much to lose World Series' with them..

To everyone, I agree the zoom cameras are way better, kinda a bummer though about how much game viewing detail is sacraficed to hit better... worth it but a bummer..

With how bad I was hitting heading into the first week of May, I am surprisingly not the worst team in the game. The Marlins only have 7 wins and I just swept them. That could be part of it since they are so bad. I am not in front of the game right now but I believe I am in 3rd place in the NL East ahead of the Braves and Marlins. I am going to stick with the hybrid settings and Catcher Zoom camera some more against better teams. My next 10 games are against the Braves, Mets and Pirates. I do feel more comfortable at the plate right now though. Strikeouts are down which is a plus. Struck out 18 times total in the Marlins series.

Yeah, I believe I won the World Series in the 2011 and 2012 Show games. Played every single game. Beat the Twins in 2011 and the Rangers in 2012.

I have it at zero and am still usually late on fastballs. Something seems off in this regard as I still have pretty good reflexes seeing as I can always hold my own playing COD or Battlefield.

Where I've really been struggling is pitching, though. The CPU rarely swings at pitches out of the zone which requires me to constantly throw strikes and ultimately leads to the CPU torching me for several runs at some point.

It's pretty damn annoying that even the worst hitters have the greatest patience at the plate. Even the best hitters in real life swing at garbage sometimes.

Great call on the zoom cams. I never had an issue with judging what was being thrown but struggled with speed to the plate and timing. It appears that will no longer be an issue as you can tell when the ball is at the plate. GAME CHANGER!

Now if I can just figure out my issue with the CPU not swinging at pitches out of the zone I will be golden.

Great news man. Glad it helps.

As far as getting the CPU to swing at out of the zone pitches...which I honestly have no issues with, it's all about how you set them up. it truley is about mixing your ptiches in and out of the zone.

Try thowing high country fastballs on 0-2 counts. Try also on an 0-2, 1-2 count to throw a slider where you ever so slightly move the marker a tad to the left (for a righty against a righty for example) and just give the "x" button a tap.

Mastering classic pitching is probably the most rewarding part of this game.

I understand setting up the batters and trying to make them chase up to a 1-2 count but they just rarely do it. I'm wondering if it is because I am using quick counts so I can't truly set them up.

Regardless this game is just so damn good!

Totally awesome about the World Series wins. Honestly, I love hearing when people have won. Meaning someone like you who plays every game and accepts losses and does not have a team full of 90 rated players. People who grind it out and win give me hope! Maybe someday.. Haha I am using the Cubs though... so, umm well maybe not.

I think I will start a Red Sox franchise. The pitching staff is just so ughhh... I pitch better than hit so a strong staff benefits me more than a great hitting team. Plus, with a strong power pitching lefty I know I can win twenty games and they just do not have one.

Keep me posted on your franchise. Also, do you have a page you keep posts on it or anything? Curious what your plans are as the pitchers age and what not. Phillies seem like a chalenge long term but admittedly I have not looked at their farm system.

Totally off topic. If you have Twitter and are not following them the banter between Rupp and Cody Asche is awesome. They bust on each others Tweets a lot! If they were not teammates it would be hard to tell it is in fun. Two of my favourite players to follow on Twitter, though many players are great fun. I like reading what players are up to, kinda cool insight into a life I can only dream of.

Even on QC's I am not having issues to get the batters to chase out of the one pitches.....the key is to having them start in the zone.

So are you saying you're not striking out enough hitters?

How many are you averaging per game?

Armor, I agree with all your pitching tips on getting batters to chase.

Was wondering if also for getting batters to chase do you think it has to do with the pitcher?...

Example: are batters gonna chase pitches by say Kershaw more than pitches by Kluber or Hughes?...
Maybe bad example but does it seem strike out guys get more batters to chase than guys who pitch to contact? Not meaning a pitch to contact guy can not get guys to chase but maybe more AI batters will chase Chapman's slider and his high fastball than those pitches by a guy more known for getting fly outs. Not just meaning miss more but actually swing more.

In other words, and last question, do you try to pitch how the guy on the mound actually does?

Depending on who am pitching with I can get 8-10 per game, but they rarely come on pitches out of the zone.

It's really annoying in late innings with the lead. The strike zone seems to shrink making it nearly impossible to strike anyone out since they refuse to swing at anything out of the now minuscule strike zone. Every batter shouldn't have the patience of the best hitters in the game.

Paint the corners and throw off speed pitches that start in the strike zone but break out of the zone. I just had 10 K' with Teheran.

I usually go with what the API is calling and get plenty of strike outs with strike out pitchers, both in and out of the zone
