Re: Armor & Sword's MLB The Show 15 Timed (Directional)/Classic Simulation Sliders
I'm seeing a great variety, but I'm worried that it's a tad too easy - I just had a game end 22-3. 22 Runs, 21 Hits, 9 Walks. Corey Hart went 1 for 2 with 6 RBIs and 3 BBs. Robbie Cano was 3 for 6 with 2 HRs and 6 RBIs. Miller went 5 for 6 with 5 RBIs. Two total Grand Slams. The game after ended 9-4, with 13 hits for my side.
It was that second grand slam that sorta ruined it for me. I might turn off Guess Pitch... when the opposing pitcher is getting shelled, they sorta get predictable in a way that's disturbing.
Four other games have been more reasonable, so I'm guessing it's just a (much needed) offensive blip in an otherwise awful year of batting (I'm hitting just .239 even after those two explosive games).
EDIT: Sorry, this is a YtY save, based on a franchise that also used your sliders last year.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword's MLB The Show 15 Timed (Directional)/Classic Simulation Sliders
I've been doing a lot more stat tracking here, and this is what I found:
Going strictly by quick count numbers(the count you start with) all is good, numbers vary of course but on the whole, the QC values are not an issue.
Foul balls IMO also are fine.
As far as pitches thrown, in game, by the CPU and the human player, strike percentages are too high. This is masked somewhat by the stellar QC starting points, but the issue is there and it's real, no doubt about it. Obviously this is not something everyone will care about, I get that, but if you are one of those who wants more accurate strike percentages, I'm working on it. That said, I will NOT hijack this thread any longer, the work done here by A&S and Marino is once again the best on the boards, and the focus needs to remain on that. So if you'd like the results of my testing(sometime next week I'm guessing) shoot me a PM and you'll have them as soon as they're ready.Comment

Armor, what pitch speed do you use?Comment

Re: Armor & Sword's MLB The Show 15 Timed (Directional)/Classic Simulation Sliders
Have to stay patient and work the count, when less then 2 strikes it's not always good idea to swing at a pitch just because it's a strike, basically wait for your pitch. This was killing me last year, the change up pitch also seems devastating to a lot of players this year, myself included, lolComment

The new ball spins and breaks are a revelation both when your at the plate and watching them in motion when your pitching in broadcast view.
If your having a hard time hitting...start with your pitch speed at "0" and work your way up if it is getting too easy. Use 10 game sample sizes for each level. Lowering or raising the pitch speed is a huge factor in your enjoyment and difficulty of hitting.
All-Star is the absolute AI sweet spot for me in terms if the CPU's pitching intelligence and overall plate presence, defense etc.Last edited by Armor and Sword; 04-05-2015, 09:23 PM.Now Playing on PS5:

Using Catcher Zoom 3 has greatly helped me to lay off those low and away sliders and read low change-ups far better.

I am going to try camera catcher zoom 3, although catcher zoom 2 does not look too bad either. I can not decide on a camera angle to pick which is dangerous. I need to pick one and stick with it, other wise I will never get used to reading pitchesComment
