    Armor,

    Love your sets every year.... Been using them forever, and would like to say THANKS for starters for all the exciting games you have provided me over the years...

    As it pertains to this set, I seem to be settling in to All-Star pitching and Veteran+ hitting this year.... Not sure why (typically All/All - still making adjustments this year I guess) and could end up eventually making the All-Star jump hitting wise...

    Just curious which set you think would play better for me long-term .... The regular slider set or the Hybrid?

      I'm in the same boat as you, trying Catcher Zoom 3 now to see if it makes a real difference, been using catcher 2 but picking up breaking pitches regularly is killing me right now

        Like I said before, love your sliders, use them every year, couldn't thank you more that you help make this game even better than it already is.

        If only I paid enough attention to actually check out your stream! Then again if you streamed 24/7 I think it'd work out for both of us

          Are you guys getting a realistic amount of popups and choppers?

          A&S- Have you tested the Human and CPU Solid Hits at 4 instead of 3?

            Currently testing solid at 4 for both vs 3.

              If your veteran + on hitting.....it really comes down to being a more patient hitter to settle into All-Star. Being able to lay off certain pitches early in the count and fighting off pitches to get the pitcher to come into your wheelhouse is the difference between Veteran and All-Star.

              I would say really try to play All-Star as to me it is the most rewarding experience for this years game. But if it is not happening. The Hybrid set is high quality as well.

                I just experienced an absolutely terrible bug. I had a guy on first and hit a HR the next at bat. When the cut scene was over and the next batter came up the runner was still on first and I was only credited with 1 run. Until this bug is fixed I'm done playing franchise, that's a killer for me.

                  Ok. What does this have to do with A&S's sliders?

                    Any decision on a change to OF Speed (lowering) or solid hits (raising)? I know you were going to do some testing, but have not seen any changes in your original post.

                    Again, in my opinion, lowering OF speed is a definite must. This will make for an amazing game of baseball.

                      Does anyone have actual MLB numbers for the amount of pop-ups and choppers in a 9 inning game average?

                      I am running CPU vs CPU all-star tests and through around 20 games I am seeing about 3 pop-ups and 2 choppers per 9 innings on Solid Hits 5.

                        Solid hits up to 4 for both
                        Foul Frequency to 4 for both
                        Outfielder Speed down to 4
                        Stamina (Starter) down to 6

                        I have been testing these and continue to play games with these tweaks. If I feel it is the right sweet spot I will update the OP.

                        So far I have really enjoyed these slight tweaks.

                          I'm absolutely loving this game with these tweaks! I've also taken the next step from hybrid to Allstar batting and I now 100% agree with your batting camera recommendation! Wow!

                            Hey all.

                            I love these sliders. Year after year, and now system after system. ( I only went ps4 last year after armor decided to upgrade)

                            Anywho, enough brown nosing, anyone have a good guide on how to call pitches over the course of a game? Since we turned off the catcher calling them, I am having a hard time deciding/knowing what to throw when. My strategy is not working.

                            Thanks guys.

                              I was just coming on here to say I have been trying these sliders and the one thing I have noticed was a ton of pop ups the first 2 games I played. Then I noticed you have made some adjustments yourself. Other then that the sliders are pretty nice so far. Good job again A&S!

                                I appreciate the kind words. I really do.

                                OK so here is the deal on turning off the R2/pitch types button showing on screen.

                                All you need to do is see your pitchers repertoire. Let's say for example he has 4 pitches and they are the following, listed in this order in the pause screen where you can access their "stuff"

                                1.4FB
                                2.SL
                                3.SPL
                                4.CHG

                                That means:

                                4FB = X = 1 finger
                                SL = O = 2 fingers
                                SPL = Triangle = 3 fingers
                                CHG = Square = 4 fingers

                                Now you know his best to weakest.

                                Watch the catcher....if he has 2 fingers showing he wants you to throw a Slider. If he shows 4 fingers he wants a Change up.

                                I typically allow my catcher to call a lot of my pitches for a sim feel. But I will overrule him when I want (shake him off). If you want to see where he wants it pull back R2 and the location icon will flash. The catcher also will sometimes just pat his mitt and point inside or outside and I will just aim there when he does. Or again I will shake him off.

                                Now if your pitcher has 5 pitches 4 finger can either mean the Square or the R1 button. I will make my own choice depending on count, situation, hitter at the plate.

                                Another cool thing is you no longer see a pitchers confidence in any particular pitch. When you have played the game as long as I have....you know if your throwing a certain pitch for strikes a lot...they will have a lot more confidence in it. I am at a stage with this game where I don't need many visual aides. But if your not there yet turn the pitch type screen back on.....play the game the way your comfortable playing it.

                                I will tell you though the layers of simulation by pitching this way is amazing and fun. Turning the ball marker off also truly makes it challenging and realistic. Sometimes your pitches will not go where you want them.

                                Just like IRL.

                                Give this a shot. I have a feeling you will love it. It will take some getting used to...but after a half dozen to a dozen games you will be in the groove.
