Re: Mike Lowe MLB Show '16 Sliders

Is anyone trying to increase Errors in simulated games ?

I found that if you reduce arm accuracy and fielding ability -1 point each, that leads to 0.17 more errors in simmed games.

The total team errors are terrible and field %'s are waayyyyy off. the top fielding rating should really be 80.

I wonder if the CS bug still exists if you hit into a force out during a hit and run. Has anyone tried or seen it yet?

For those who don't know, if you hit and run and then there's a force out, the runner is given a CS. Perhaps that's been adjusted as it's been in the game for a few years now.

Obviously this is pitcher dependent, as the top guys can be close to 30% swing and misses per swing and on the other end of the spectrum it's around 15%.

For me personally, at first, the OP sliders were good. But naturally as I got better at the game things needed changing. I was getting way to many strikeouts and swing and misses against the CPU. I currently have CPU timing at 5, and foul rate at 4. And with the user pitcher control at 0 this gave up too many runs and not enough strikeouts because a lot of balls ended up over the plate. So what I did was up user pitcher control to 3, allowing me to target the corners better, yet still giving up some bad pitches around the middle. This keeps the CPU swing snd miss rate at a good number, the fouls are looking good, and it gives you some nice 2 strike battles. And the pitcher control gives a good strikeout rate.

So Mike, just some food for thought. And some stuff I've been experimenting with. Thought I'd help out and try to make this a good HOF set. Huge thanks for posting your sliders that gave me a foundation to work on
Cool, yeah adjusting to your own style is totally fine. I don't get bent out of shape over people adjusting sliders.

I also don't play much on weekends, unlike most people, so don't let the silence worry you! I play mostly during the week.

Re: Mike Lowe MLB Show '16 Sliders

I'm restarting my franchise today to utilize the updated patch that will *hopefully* fix the bad bullpen AI. Anyway, I was looking at my small sample size of 3 games from the previous franchise I was using before my vacation because I wanted to see if I saw any issues with too many Ks for the user against the AI, as some have reported.

I'm not seeing that issue, personally. I rank 2nd in assists which means certainly enough balls are being hit into play, and my opponents are 16th in GIDP.

Anyway, here are some other team rankings for me in this admittedly small sample franchise (all games/pitches played). These were all using the sliders in the first post.

Strikeouts (user batting): 23rd (8th most)
          GIDP (user batting): 16th
          GIDP (user pitching): 16th
          Assists (user pitching): 2nd
          Assists (AI pitching): 25th
          Errors: (user pitching): 26th
          Errors: (AI pitching): 20th
Walks (user pitching): 23rd (8th most)
Walks (AI pitching): 3rd (27th most...we swung for the fences this series...lead MLB in HRs as a consolation)
          Strikeouts (user batting): 23rd
          Strikeouts (AI batting): 9th

I want to try these would I need to change anything for All Star for both Hitting and pitching and Classic Pitching?

Re: Mike Lowe MLB Show '16 Sliders

Ran a quick test sim w sliders in post one and I'm seeing huge improvements to simulated complete games and shutout stats.

16 pitchers with 3 SOs or more. Still high (should be about 10 for CG and 3 for SO across MLB), but much better than it was before.

Still 44 pitchers with 3 or more complete games.

Next, I'll sim with starter stamina and manager hook at default.

Quick counts work well with these?

Default was even worse. Trying now with starter stamina at 4 and hook at 8...

The latter gave really good RP innings/games stats, but still too many CG and SO.

While we wait for more fixes for franchise, I've been playing Diamond Dynasty more often. I'm ranked 1600+ so far, and am actually undefeated in head to head so far (knock on wood).

I'm streaming my next game now if anyone wants to come chat strategy!

Curious: what kind of strike percentage and walks are you getting with CPU control, consistency, and strike frequency at 5-1-5?

A realistic amount? Sorry, not sure how to answer it in more detail as not every game/team is the same.

Keep in mind that part of the reason consistency is low is you'll NEVER see HBP otherwise. This is one thing this slider set provides that I've yet to see others provide. Compare your HBP around the rest of the league, and you will see your team having similar numbers as other teams. It has an affect on OB% and is part of baseball.

Starting franchise today and will report back. I'm manually simulating each AI game to prevent too many complete games and shutouts.

any updates on stats you got?

I have a question about pitch count, as it seems like pitch count in the game is a lot lower than in real life. Like im often pitching in the 7th inning with a p.c of only 60s-70s (is that normal, or fixable, or we just change the stamina to deal with that)

                            Thanks
