Mike Lowe, how are the speeds off the bat with CPU solid Hits at 6? I have seen a ton of line drives and very few choppers with solid hits at 5.....Are there too many 100+ mph hits off the bat with it at 6? Im also trying to find a balance with fielder speed/fielder reaction. There were a couple times this weekend when the dreaded 'warping' occurred. A ball looked destined to drop for a hit, but the outfielder covered 20 feet in one frame to catch the ball.

Any recs on what to do w/ sliders if you like to:
      A. Play w/ quick counts
      B. Just play one game out of every series

Good News! I know Mike that you have talked about Bullpen AI this year and the problems with it. Last Night I had a crazy 15 inning game between the Oakland A's and the Chicago White Sox. Rodon got hurt early in the game, in comes the bullpen. Bullpen pitches the White Sox to the 9th, burns through the entire bullpen and reaches Robertson for the save. Semien blasts a solo shot to tie the game in the Bottom of the 9th.

We go to extra innings, I figure, well Robertson will throw a bunch a pitches and then just keep throwing when he has no energy. Robertson throws until he is out of energy (3.0 innings I believe, about 35~ Pitches) Robertson is taken out and RELIEVED BY JOHN DANKS. I haven't ever seen this in the Show's History but I am very glad that it happened. I don't know if the latest patch helped this but I've been very impressed by the Bullpen AI shown in the last couple franchise (30 team control) games.

I usually have my Starter Stamina at 6, Reliever at 0
Manager Hook at 5 until the starter comes out, then move to 7.

Just thought I'd share this and see what you've seen in terms of Bullpen AI lately.

Probably sounds obvious, but I believe solid hits at 6 for the AI is just fine. If you're seeing too many hits, you can lower it, but I'd also consider really reflecting on your pitching approach AND execution.

Hey so there is nothing to do about the amount of CGs the computer throws against others? I've gone through 4 calendar days and they have 14. What if the stamina is moved back from 6 to 5? Or 7 to 6 I can't remember what you have it set at. Anyways I was just wondering if you were working to solve it or if you were okay with it. It just really bothers me as I love to follow pitchers careers from the other teams, and this minor inflation is annoying. Is it the price we have to pay? Haha

Man, I've tried for 2 years now, and I cannot find a way to keep a realistic number of pitchers with 200+ innings and a low enough number of CGs/SOs.

If anyone can find a fix, please share! This game really needs some work.

To update: I'm waiting for v2 of the OSFM rosters to fix the birthplaces as I'm worried it's going to affect morale too much.

Also, I'm hoping the next patch gives franchise mode some love.

                • Better bullpen AI
                • Better simulated stats for pitchers (CG, SO, innings/game for MR)
                • Fix stats and morale from carryover saves

Hey! Tried a different slider set and was getting alot of 8-0 scores my way etc. so looking forward to trying these tonight! My one question is do you think you would make any changes if you were using pulse pitching? Just always been the way i preferred to pitch! Also playing with the PCI on shouldn't affect much correct?

Thanks for giving them a try! I just updated the first post with this bit of info as others have asked similar questions:

                    PITCHING
Pitching Difficulty - Hall of Fame
Pitching Interface - Meter (classic and pulse will work fine as well, so long as you're evaluating your performance)

I used to be a Pulse Pitching advocate too, but last year seemed like it was too easy to pin point even with Pitcher Control/Consistency sliders nuked to 0. If you're finding it too easy to pinpoint your fastball with Pulse, I would definitely recommend giving meter a try with Mike's Sliders. I definitely saw a realistic amount of walks in 15 using his sliders + Meter, where I wasn't getting enough walks with Pulse and 0/0 Control + Consistency sliders.

I'm going to stream a Diamond Dynasty draft to discuss draft strategy for a 3-inning game, if anyone's around in a bit. I'll post again here when I start the stream.

Eventually, I might turn this into a story for OS...either that or another piece about FIXING (not enhancing) franchise mode. Dead horse...

                          zman2392...

Assuming you're accustomed to all-star pitching & making the HOF leap... prepare to get BOMBED!

"Bombed" because you may be accustomed to serving up pitches on AS difficulty w/o much consequence ...

If you stick with HOF (and these sliders), can handle the early shellacking, can re-train your brain a bit, settle down, focus & "pitch" (versus throw)... you're approach will change, the box scores will reflect it & you'll feel better rewarded.

I think the AS slider makers here are getting the absolute fullest out of AS difficulty, It's just simply too easy on the pitching side of things... Even A&S (who allows player ratings to heavily weigh-in on outcomes) has upped his pitching difficulty to HOF...

Dominate AS? Struggle on HOF? Hopefully you'll find your middle ground, but start your slider tweaking from HOF... you'll feel better about things in the end IMO

Thanks! I may have to make the switch back. We will see how my pitching goes tonight. I used to do meter pitching but found I would pinpoint too much with it and when they introduced pulse I found it was a little more erratic even with good input so I preferred it. Interesting to hear the opposite may be true now though.

I actually am on HOF pitching but have just been finding it too easy this year when compared to last. Truth be told I am actually hoping to get bombed soon and hoping these sliders with provide me with that! I was on all-star hitting though but achieving very high scores so I am more worried about the jump to HOF there. I may start with strike frequency down to 4 just until I get in to the swing of things though as I really rely on patience and drawing walks with my hitting style. Thanks for the help! Can't wait to get home now!
