With the 4/20 set, I will be trying something very close to the "stop-gap" set, which I would make a beta version if the resulting stats stabilize to something reasonable.

The only sliders that I'm setting to "off" values are BR Steal Frequency (10 to get more steal attempts in to measure SB% more accurately, faster) and Power (4 to see if the reduction of HRs is desired or not... as 5 is most likely okay usually and I think that might be better to get exit speeds of batted balls to be inline with how the game is tuned against real-life MLB data). I also lowered Fielder Arm Strength for infielders for potential aesthetics improvement.

This will be tested against mostly the middle of starting rotation guys for the next dozen or so games...

Your 4/20 set looks very similar to what I've started testing with, except I have my OF arm strength lowered to 3. It just seems too strong on default, though it could be all in my head due to what I've seen in so few games.

I also felt like there were too many guys with 50 power hitting too many no doubters home runs on default 5 Power. That, plus I've always hated the home run celebration cam, so the fewer for me..

Dickey has always thrown unrealistically too many strikes with his knucklers...

Fielder arm strength sliders are kinda difficult to nail down from stats (since they don't change that much unless you set them to something extreme), so I tend to just use them for aesthetics.

Reducing is HRs is slightly tricky in a sense that usually just one click of Power slider adjustment over/undershoot what I want... I feel The Show has usually been a little HR happy with default timing window, especially for HUM gameplay. And the game still generates a little too much of opposite field power, I think...

Agreed. He walks many more batters in real life. And the knuckler Dancing out of the zone Produces most of his strikeouts as well, but they are out of the zone not strikes.

After a dozen games with the 4/20 set, I'm so perplexed by the change I've been seeing between Solid Hits 9 and 10 that I am going to repeat the same set of games (instead of moving forward with the schedule) with just one change from the 4/20 set, Solid Hits down to 9. This is the 4/21 set.

If what I have been seeing is consistent, I'd expect the batting average to tank down to around .230 (from about .270) with a huge drop in line drive %. A dozen games is a very small sample size, but the effect is big enough that we would see it.

I'm now suspecting there might be a bug in how Solid Hits slider works this year at these settings... the jump in line drive fraction between 9 and 10 has been just too big for such a minor change. It's like I'm choosing between 20.5% (9) and 23.5% (10) and cannot choose something between.

Or maybe that's how the slider is intended to work, that at the extreme setting the change caused is designed to be big. I don't know.

Because of your work with the sliders. I've come up with a workable settings base for my minor league games and my major league games. I've noticed if power is on 4 for minor leagues there aren't many home runs and I set the solid hits to 9 instead of 10 because of the more hits in the minors. I use power at 4 for major league and have my solid hits at 10 for them. I feel comfortable with these settings but if you have any further changes i'll probably adjust according to your decisions. thanks again. It's the batting camera being stuck on broadcast mode in CPU vs. CPU games. I had the report posted a few weeks ago but it mysteriously disappeared..

Minor league game is a slightly different beast... I think the reason why HRs are down in minors is that The Show's attribute progression system allows the Power attribute to increase/decrease so much during a single career, and there simply aren't that many real power hitters (in Power attribute) down in minors.

I noticed a bunch of my other (obscure) bug reports are entirely gone as well... I don't think they were deleted due to duplication... Mostly minor bugs that would not be noticed unless watching game logs, etc. very closely. Was just hoping it could be useful for the future iteration of the game.

I think it's a disgrace that SDS does this. I understand the bug reports are a mess due to people keep posting similar bug reports (not to mention most are often useless due to not being very descriptive and simply sounding like rants), but it takes quite a bit of time and it's generally a chore to write useful bug reports, you know what I mean?

I'm much less inclined to file bug reports now...

An update is that the experiment with Solid Hits between 9 and 10 with the 4/20 and 4/21 sets made me a bit uneasy about using either, in that level of offense (in BA/BABIP) just swings too much above and below where I want the workable set to be in. Unfortunately I cannot choose something like Solid Hits = 9.5.

So, I've just started looking for an "alternative" way to boost the offense baseline by using Contact slider (4/22 sets). While I have observed it is indeed quite easy to boost batting average enough (e.g., using Contact 7 would overshoot .255 which is roughly my target), increasing Contact slider SUBSTANTIALLY lowers the swing and miss rate, so to get a realistic whiff rate something needs to be done while adjusting Contact, which is the main reason why I did not want to touch it unless I really need to. I'm trying to see how much lowering Timing could help in this regard.

That's where I'm at right now.

I have not reported yet... I don't think it's a big enough issue to be fixed, so even if it is reported I think it will be something that the devs would try to fix for the next year's game.

Oh ok. LOL. I get what you mean now that it isn't a huge deal. I thought at first it was getting called a foul and it was moving on to the next pitch with the same batter. I agree just it getting called a foul by the announcer isn't a huge deal.

Nomo, we really appreciate your hard work on these sliders. You nailed it in last year's version of the game. I used your final set and it felt like watching a real-life game. It looks like you're pretty dang close with the 4/20 set so far in this year's game, but I'm going to stay tuned. Keep up the excellent work.
