A&S and Marino, how are your HR totals per game looking like? I think anything between 2-2.5 per game for both teams combined would be ideal. Do you think Power and Solid Hits are the sliders to look at for the inflated number of homers?

As you said before, I don't think the distance is something we can affect with sliders unfortunately.

This is something I am trying to focus on. I have noticed that in the last 5 games, I have had more HRs (CPU and myself) than I felt should be. I had a HR last night that felt awful off the bat but made it into the bullpen at Fenway.

So this will be something I focus on this weekend while I play.

What about increasing pitching consistency for human and CPU by one? The balls that are getting crushed are meat balls. The ball is getting left dead over the plate too often this year.

Pitchers are getting pulled too early. Most of the time the move is somewhat defensible but still on the conservative side. I had Jesse Vhavez up to 84 pitches and he was pulled after 5. He was had already hit two batters, walked 4 and given up 6 hits. Only surrendered the one run though.

All valid points. And working and testing all this. I think our base set is a great start and we should have a great V 2.0 as we keep playing game after game after game.

Thank you for the great feedback!

I haven't played enough yet to have a good enough sample size to comment on the SP's being pulled too early, but I wanted to say that given the way the game has gone in recent years in real life, it won't be long before a SP getting pulled in the 5th with 84 pitches is the norm.

Real life MLB teams are moving in a direction that the SP will go to 5 or 6 innings and then long and short relief get the rest. RP's getting 1-2 batters before being pulled even when pitching well.

I miss the old days when a starter went 7+ innings often and the closers would pitch 2-3 innings. Now it's every other batter has a new pitcher.

I'm about 10 games in on these sliders and the only thing I'm finding is pitching to be a tad easy. I'm giving up 2-3 runs a game at most so I'm thinking of bumping the difficulty to HOF. Hitting is perfect.

Are you playing with the same team or various teams? Using Classic pitching with the broadcast (or behind the pitcher) camera?

I can tell you that I've been playing with the Rockies, and all 5 pitchers have vastly different results and I consider myself pretty good at pitching.

I'm 10 games into spring training in my Mariners franchise using these sliders, so I'm using 5-6 pitchers per game. Using classic and broadcast. Only difference is I use the ball marker and API. Maybe that's making it easier? I'm also new to classic so I'm not really sure how it works, as I've used pulse up until this year.

I'm thinking of putting the CPU hitting sliders back to default before going up to HOF.

Take away your PCI, then it's all about feeling for the zone. That's my suggestion before moving up. I'm also biased and think that gives a more realistic pitching feel rather than lining up targets on the screen.

Gotcha, I'll give this a go tonight. Do you have any suggestions on how you use classic pitching? Meaning when to tap x for the pitch and when to hold down? I've done some reading on it and it seems like no one really knows how it works lol.

                              I do.

Here are a couple tricks I work with.

If you're throwing a slider, or something that you want a lot of movement on, hold it longer until you get the slight vibration from the button. This will have the max sweeping movement. I use this when I'm trying to backdoor a slider on the outside corner, or if I'm trying to get a player with awful patience to really chase on strike 3.

If you just want to make sure you hit your spot, a quick tap'n'hold slightly will get the job done. I use this quite a bit with the 2 seamers and the change up when I'm trying to start the ball on the middle of the plate and hit that corner either inside or outside. I want him to hit the spot, but I also want enough movement to try and miss a bat or get the ground ball.

You'll also need to feel out if your pitcher "has" that pitch that day. Some days I'll come out and I can't spot the 2 seamer at all unless I just tap the button and that might lead to the hitter laying waste to my crappy non-moving, lower velocity 2 seamer. In which case I either hold down the button to get max velo and movement (and live with the greater chance of missing my spot wide) or I go to another pitch that day.

It's all these nuances with the Classic pitching that I love.

Awesome dude, thanks! This is how I hoped it works but wasn't sure. I'm going to turn off the ball marker and see what happens tonight. Now I'm sitting here at work with four hours to go and can't wait to get home to play lol.
