I was wondering what your thoughts are on the whole patch controversy. What patch do you feel the game was best on? Has hitting been fixed? Was it ever broken? I noticed the sets have changed a bit but not drastically with each patch. I highly respect your opinion on gameplay since you have to have a great understanding of it to make these great slider sets. Thank you.Last edited by Culture Rot; 07-21-2017, 03:00 PM.Comment

I've recently gone back to quick counts and these sliders are still money. You have to work harder at being patient at the plate, but the time you save is a good trade-off. It's also helpful in getting through some of the grind of the season. I will switch back to full counts for big series and playoffsComment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 17 Timed/Classic Simulation All-Star Slider
I sincerely apologize for asking these questions on this thread, but am looking for some help as this is the first time I have used 30-team control
Do you manage the CPU in game moves? I ask this because I was playing the Rays last night. Archer was pulled after 3 innings after giving up 5 runs. CPU brings in Eovaldi. He gives up 8 runs in the next 4 innings and they don't pull him. He ends up pitching 5 innings and I ended up winning 13-1.
For the 29 CPU controlled teams do you set lineups/rotation to manual or auto? CPU can make some pretty silly lineup decisions.
If set to manual, do you have to go in and rest players manually or does the CPU still do that? If set to auto does the CPU change the lineups that I manually entered back to the lineup that they originally had set up (ex. starting Colabello over Santana)?
Thanks again and sorry to post this question here. But this is the only thread I follow with confidence.Yankees modern day

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 17 Timed/Classic Simulation All-Star Slider
Thanks for your reply. Before I played my first game of my season, I manually set the lineup/rotation for all 30 teams. For the CPU-run profile I then put lineups/rotation to auto. But when I checked the lineups after a few games, a handful of teams had set their lineups back to they way they were prior to me changing them. Do I have to check lineups after every game to see if the CPU has changed the lineups?
I promise, this is my last question on this issue on this thread. Sorry once again
Just go around the league at the end of every week to make sure of injury management and that lineups are sound. Takes only a few minutes. Now Playing on PS5:

I play manual defense. Should i still have infield throw errors at 10 or tone it down?Comment

BABIP typically takes awhile to stabilize statistically, which is why you see some players have abnormal years. Team data will have larger sample sizes in a shorter period of time, but I'd still say that 2-3 months worth of data is preferred before worrying.
The practical answer is to throw better quality strikes (i.e. strikes on the black) and don't be afraid to walk batters. You throw pitches over the middle all the time, even on hitter counts, you'll see harder contact and thus a higher BABIP.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment
