With it at 6 the CPU was just ripping it all over the yard no matter where the pitch was, no in between apparently. With it at default they did hit a HR off me, Francisco Lindor took Edwin Diaz deep who is having a terrible season so far, so it's not like they can't hit for power at times but doubles and HR's were down across the board with power at default.
I had this exact same problem for a short while. I put Power and Solid Hits at default for me and the AI, and lowered my pitching control to 4. I find that this hits that middle ground you are trying to find between unstoppable AI hitting/the AI just hitting singles. They aren't hitting every single pitch, but still feel threatening.

Amazing slider set. I jumped in between slider sets quite a bit this year, and it started getting frustrating. I decided to try out these sliders for the first time today (don't know why I waited so long) and all that frustration has turned into pure joy. The game has gone from annoying, into being the best iteration of the show yet.

Honestly, don't worry about "just late" timing. That is still good timing. Is there even a just early timing anymore in the batter info window? I know there is if you pause and look that way.
Just to add to this, increasing solid hits only raises the ratio of good launch angle vs popup/chopper on good inputs. So if you line up a fastball down the middle, odds are more likely it's going to be a good hit.

However, it does not impact bad inputs. If you are late on a ball inside, especially with a weak hitter, odds are you'll get a bad result, even with solid hits at 10. Your timing and location will still matter.

As for the swing feedback, while it is more accurate this year than most, I still find it is often wrong. That being said, yes, just late is actually a good input if the ball is on the outside 2/3rds of the plate.

Power effects launch velocity, whereas wind will affect how well the ball carries. At least that's what my playtesting showed.

I experimented same thing as described byThe Chef earlier. I found that Solid Hits and Power at 6 was producing too much hard hits . In last 3-4 games went with SH 5 but Power at 6 and had good results . Well lost 6-3 10-1 and won 7-6 with my Jays. Good mix of Ai offense so far ( 1 or 2Hr a game , doubles , choppers , weak hits ).

Any adjustments to offensive sliders recommended with these if I use zone hitting ?

I have to agree. I tried 6/6 for 4 games and found too much offence. 15-4, 9-6, 8-5, 10-5. Too many hard hits, and extra base hits. I'm going to try solid hits at 5 and power at 6.

I have to agree with Armor on this one. This change has been awesome. It feels like I pulled the game out of the box again. Home runs are a little high (1.16 mlb avg 16'/1.75 per game avg), but then again, this year home runs are happening more along with strikeouts, and I am getting that same kind of play. Its been absolutely fantastic over the 15 games I have played so far.

Chef, that is exactly what has worked for me. For user- Solid hits at 7. With power at 5. Extra base hits, with HRs.

6 and 6 is perfect for cpu.

                Game is playing amazing.

So I went to the 6/6 setup for power/solid hits and it is producing more CPU HR's which in itself isn't bad and I'm not really complaining. The side effect is now I'm seeing more 100mph+ hits off of "just late" timing on inside pitches that jam a hitter, instead of those being bloops, weak grounders or routine fly outs they are now turning into singles and doubles far more often then they should. Furthermore when I do get a ground out it's stung but right at someone, in other words it feels like I rarely can produce weak contact from a hitter and every game is a combination of hard hit balls right at someone or stung down the lines, into the gaps or out of the park.

With that out of the way my question is, if I were to raise solid hits to 7 and power back to default would I still maintain more CPU HR's while not having quite as many rockets off the bat or is HR's strictly tied to the power slider and that's it? Follow up to that, would raising solid hits produce more issues because they are now getting better contact and would still be driving pitches just fewer HR's because of lack of power? Since raising power to 6 (I already had solid hits at 6 prior) the CPU has hit 10 HR's in 5 games and while it's nice to see the CPU have some power it's a bit too much now. Any advice would be appreciated.
Here is a left field suggestion. Instead of raising solid hits to 7. You could try contact 6 timing 4 to go along with power 6 solid hits 6. To me it feels like it half a click below contact 5 timing 5 and I'm getting tons of hit variety. Works well for both CPU/HUM. Shout out to rjackson for the idea.

What slider set for HUM hitting and CPU pitching should I use for HOF hitting? I can't do All Star with the HUM power and/or HUM Solid hits higher than 5. I played 3 games with that and got 14 HRs and 48 hits lol.

And I use pure analog hitting and pitching. Just have so much more fun with them on that. Along with HOF pitching (might need to go to Legend soon). And I use pure analog throwing. What are your suggestions for the sliders for those controls? Is there a change to your sliders a bit for my settings if any at all?

Good to see you having a blast Armor with the Show. As an Xbox guy, been missing baseball for a while now. Just never thought one game should be a console seller. Have Madden and Josh's settings to look forward to, and basketball is going to be a great year with Live upping its game. FIFA is always a stable of mine and a blast, even though would play PES as well if Microsoft would get its head out of its a** and allow option files. Anyways, I have been going back and forth on either making the switch to PS4 PRO, or Xbox One X coming out......decisions......decisions.....

I loved hitting from the get go. The uproar was insanity and it still is to be frank.

I am having too much fun playing this game to waste anytime on that nonsense (general forum) anymore.

Game 2 of the 1996 ALDS tonight!!! Rangers at Yankees.

The Yankees look to rebound from a stunning comeback by the Rangers in game 1. Up 5-0.....the Bombers collapsed to lose 7-5 as Rusty Greer had a career night driving in 4 runs to lead the Rangers comeback.
Armour, I've tried moving solid hits and power to 6 for several games now. It's clear that I'm not as skilled as you when it comes to pitching as I'm giving up a lot of solid hits, homers and runs. My offence has certainly jumped as well and my games are pretty high scoring. Given that I'm not as good at pitching as you, would you suggest leaving power at 6 and dropping solid hits back down to 5?

I was using your original sliders and updated to most recent about 5 games ago. I'm getting alot more different types of hits. Game feel a lot better.

Also playing Trumbo and Mancini in OF has caused 6 errors in 5 games

Thanks for the assistance fellas. I actually figured it all out and have been having fantastic games. My record isnt the prettiest and my power has taken a dump on me at the moment but as far as the CPU offense is concerned I'm seeing every end of the spectrum. One start Sonny Gray can't locate his fastball or change and I end up walking 4 in 5 IP. Next game Mike Fiers strikes out 9 in 5 IP but cant get an out to start the 6th and falls apart due to a high pitch count thanks to the high strikeout numbers. One game Wei-Yin Chen throws a 1 hit shutout into the 8th before pulling him due to fatigue, the game is very much addicting now that I've found my sweet spot when it comes to sliders.

To top it all off my team batting average has at least come down to respectable levels (.280) as opposed to where it was the first month of the season (approx .310). Loving the game more then before now that I'm officially done tweaking sliders.
