You have to keep lineups/rotation on CPU profile set to manual. Otherwise all your work will be undone.

Just go around the league at the end of every week to make sure of injury management and that lineups are sound. Takes only a few minutes.

Hey A&S - so with the cpu profile set to manual (for lineups and rotations), will the cpu keep the EXACT same lineups for every game (sim) or will it still account for lefty/right matchups or tired players?

You set the lineups for RHP and LHP.

They will sub out tired players though during all the sims throughout the season.

Not sure if you've heard, but I saw Ramone mention in a video that they made pitching a little bit harder for 18. I believe he said it was too easy to pinpoint a location. With this, do you think you will start out back on All-Star pitching difficulty, or stay with HoF out of the gate?

If this applies to all interfaces (not just meter which is what the Dev’s all seem to play with) I will test All-Star first. If it feels the same...I will go right back to HOF.

What is a good way to slightly increase hitting? I am 95 games into my season with the Mariners (playing every game) and I am 2nd from the bottom with Batting Avg at .236. I lead the league in HR's, so most of my runs come from the long ball. I have tried individually increasing contact, solid hits and timing, but even just one notch up I start hitting over .300. Is there something on the CPU side I could also increase to balance it out a little? Most games I only get 5-6 hits then every few games I get a decent outburst. I would like to avg around .250-.260.

Had for me to say. I don’t know your approach at the plate. You may be hitting into a lot of double plays? Just really hard to say.

I would say increase solid hits up 1 click and try that.

If I may....I went through something similar before...low BA but lots of HRs. What I began to realize is that I was constantly behind everything....even hits I was successful on....I wasn't getting the right kind of distribution....I rarely pulled anything....even with pull happy hitters.

The solution, I lowered both the fastball pitch speed and offspeed pitch speed sliders by the same value (keeping the 2 point offset Armor has)...I think I wound up at 4 and 6, respectively. It got me into sync better without messing with sliders that might mess up the batted ball distribution.

So, depending on user skill, your TV input lag and so on, those pitch speed values may need to be adjusted to fit YOU. If you're out in front of everything, raise them. If you're behind everything, lower them.

What's the reason for the offset? Aren't off speed pitches suppose to come in slower? Wouldn't +2 value speed them up? I've had them at the same values all year.

Lol. Well I wasn't looking for a scientific explanation. I was just curious as to why. I guess I never noticed it being different why(slider values) or I just forgot to change it. Does it make the off speed pitches appear to come in faster and easier to read? I'll have to go change it and see.

Bingo. They are still quite effective but not stupid slow. Looks and feels far more realistic for my taste. Plus when a pitcher hangs one...you can really groove it if you are sitting on it.

I have already decided regardless of any pre-release hype.....I am sticking with 17 for most of next year....I will pick up 18 year end 2018....maybe even right before 2019 to transfer my franchise files (if the game is a good enough upgrade to even warrant it).

I have a plethora of classic rosters....simply an amazing selection of incredible retro baseball. I also have 4 great franchises going (1987 Yankees Quest For Donny Baseball Year 3, The Matheny Manifesto Fantasy Cardinals Franchise Year 2, 2017 Yankees Year 2, and soon The Cleveland Indians "Jobu’s Rum” Fictional Franchise Year 1).

I am so pleased with MLBTS17. I still love this game as much as the day it was released.

I feel like I have my ultimate Baseball Console baseball game, chock full of simulation greatness, incredible retro rosters, and simply years of replayabiity.

It’s that great.


So enjoy this game everyone......I know I am for probably years to come. I am pretty much coming to the end of the “yearly” sports game cycle now for the PS4.

I really think the development teams of 2K and The Show have maxed it out and IMO are stretched thin anyway with making so many different modes to cater to different types of sports gamers.

I think the push for us for even deeper franchise modes.......is done. I really believe that now.

So with that. I will still be active here in this slider thread for those that decide to stick with The Show 17 next season vs picking up 18.

Question about your Cardinals 90-man fantasy draft franchise......

Once you have completed the draft, does the cpu automatically fill your 40-man roster or are you able to select which 40 players you want on it? If it's the latter, what criteria does the cpu use to select those 40 players?
