    Re: Armor & Sword & Marino's MLB The Show 17 Timed/Classic Simulation All-Star Slider

I'm going on version 1.5 I believe but I honestly wouldn't suggest them for RTTS. In AA, pitchers threw way to many fat strikes 1st pitch. It was also incredibly easy to steal. Once I got to AAA, things seemed to be a lot better and realistic but I think I'm going to go with the version 1.5 with strike frequency at 2 instead of 3, stealing ability at 5 instead of 6 and I think that should give me better results. Sticking with version 1.5 for hitting sliders as well, bumping timing and solid hits up a notch would give me inflated numbers. Again this is RTTS. Probably different for other game modes.

Edit: didn't want to come off as negative. These are a great set. Just Sharing my personal experience and opinion.

I feel like I'm just always swinging early. It's not really a problem with the sliders or the game, it's just me but it's made my offense completely stagnate lately. I could move pitch speed up and hope that would help me adjust but then I'm afraid I'll be flailing at all kinds of junk with less time to judge it.

I just need to learn to stay back on stuff. I see a pitch I know will be good to hit and immediately want to hammer it, and then swing way too early.

So after slowing things down with my pitching I threw a no hitter through 8 1/3 before giving up back to back hits and bringing in a closer to win 1-0... 6k 2bb.

Now I'm stuck in the basement missing the national championship game! Haha.

I had the same issue and went to a new camera. Started in retro and then zoomed in so only the front half of the plate is visible. Helped me a ton and I still get caught out in front here and there (mainly when guessing) but my timing is much better and I am drawing more walks as well.

For people saying there is too many home runs in this game I have seen 12-13 HRS in the 4 MLB games I've watched today....it's all about sample size baseball will always even it self out

Are these sliders okay to use for realistic stats in franchise mode with ALL games played manually?

Also, which camera is the best to use in order to read pitches better?

Fish eye is recommended in the first post.

Absolutely!! That's what they are designed for. Use the Sim sliders if you do any simming at all then switch back to normal sliders to play manually.

Same. My timing has been off since release day, still trying to find it in play now games while i wait for OSFM to start my franchise. Since I'm only playing play now games, there's no way to know exactly, but I'd guess I'm hitting around .100 with 1 HR with Gary Sanchez in about 20 games. Also LOTS of weak ground balls to pitcher (early) and lots of infield pop ups (late). Just not making very good contact so far.

So after winning 7 out of 8 and hitting 10 HR. I have now lost 7 out of 8 and have hit only 2 HR in that span. The game is playing beautifully for me with these sliders as always. Sample Size guys. Trust these sliders.

After really struggling offensively so far I can say I just had one of the first games where I felt really good about hitting. Banged out 13 hits to beat Boston 6-5 at Fenway in a seesaw battle that had 4 lead changes. Definitely just have to trust and totally commit to the sliders and have enough patience to get a good enough sample size ( I know it's difficult to have patience especially for me) and the results really are so realistic.

Funny thing is I feel like I've been doing horrible but when I look back I've won 12 of the 19 games I've played since the game came out. Mostly from pitching I guess!
