Re: Mike Lowe MLB The Show '17 Sliders

I may have found the correct balance for hitting, at least for me. Using 1.8 with zone hitting except hitting is on All-Star. I won 8-6, was down 5-0 at one point and scored 3 in the 9th to walk it off. My BABIP was .310 and the opponent was .295 so just about perfect. The only thing I'm watching now is power, I hit 4 HR and the CPU hit 2. Although I'll gladly say that none were of the 460 ft and beyond variety so that was good to see.

So I think this is what I'm going to rock with for now and just adjust power if I keep hitting 2+ HR a game. Also for anyone having trouble with giving up walks, I find I give up more with QC on. Just a suggestion.

I've played a bunch with these sliders and Fenwaymac.

I don't think I've seen the "no doubt" HR cut scene on either set. So much that I miss it

Between 7/3/3 for the contact/power/timing stack from Fenwaymac and 6/1/5 in this set there's the appropriate amount of HR distance and hard hit balls (IMO).

I was telling Fenwaymac my offense feels slightly like I'm hitting tennis balls on 7/3/3 and that's after 10 games on those sliders. I only have 3 games on these so I can't tell you how I feel just yet, but both sets bring power and hard hit balls back to reality.

I do not strike guys out well either so maybe the batter contact is not allowing enough swing and misses? Hits and variety have been spot on and i believe power is great. Any thoughts on the contact? I have my videos up here.

Lastly, in my last game the CPU took out the starter after 68 pitches, 2h, 2BB and 2 er? This was with 2 outs in the 4th and no injury? That's not common but was something that caught my eye.
That's weird on the SP. I'm not denying it is happening to folks, but I have not seen it. You put manager hook to 2 at the start of the game?

I get walks because I'm constantly trying to get guys to chase as well as trying to paint the corners.

What are you swing and miss percentages and foul ball percentages for AI? That will tell you a lot (check first post again).

Try power at 0 next game. Let us know how it goes?

Re: Mike Lowe MLB The Show '17 Sliders

Just had my favourite game of 17 so far. Beat the pirates 6-2 on 0 hrs. Gave up a two run shot on a horrible fast ball in inning one, then tightroped out of giving up another 8 hits without another run. Put up 3 in the 9th on a double, an rbi single, a steal, a walk, a line drive single, a passed ball with the bases loaded and a sac fly!!

Babip for me .276 for the cpu .281. Saved the game so don't have full pitch stats. Low k totals for both sides but not big strikeout pitchers on either team.

I've got power on 2 and solids on 6. I'm also trying human fouls on 3 both to increase strikeout vs foul pop up totals but also to try and turn some of my super early changeup swings into hits...got a double off the chalk later in the game so that might be something ELSE to consider!!

Seriously though. These are playing so well!

Pipe dream: a good cricket game! (still)

I walk guys because I have the Rockies staff and if I don't stay out of the zone Brandon Belt eats my face off...

From v1.8, trying the following I'm a game I'm about to stream:

                Human power 0
                Human solid hits 7
Human pitch consistency 3 (too many wild pitches)
                IF fielding errors 7
                IF throwing errors 7

Yeah for sure. It could've just been the one game since 4 of 6 barely got out. But I'll try at 0 and report back. That's the only thing left for me. Power at 0 or 1. The rest is perfect.

Mike Lowe MLB The Show '17 Sliders

I've played 4 games since bumping up solid hits to 7 and I'm seeing better hit variety and harder hit balls. So I'm gonna test this more for myself. Liking what I'm seeing with that.

I'm dominating in pitching and leading the league in almost every pitching category except 3rd for K's. I also have had lots of low scoring games from the CPU. So for my last 4 games, I bumped CPU power to 3 bc I wasn't seeing many HRs or gappers. I have seen a few HRs, doubles, and triples and obviously more runs. My games have been more competitive and I don't feel the CPU is overpowered with power at 3. Also gonna keep playing and see how it goes. This might not work for some but it has played more sim like for me in my last few games.

My main concern (I'm thinking it will need to be patched) is starters getting pulled. I have made sure no guys are in LR slots and are either MR, SU, or CL. My last 3 games the starters have gotten pulled in the 4th or 5th inning. Pitch count was around 50 and there was no need for a change. Many times I only had a few hits and either no runs or just 1 on the board. It's a head scratcher for sure. I'm bumping manager hook to 1 and gonna see if that helps but it just seems to be a patch will be needed to resolved. If anybody is having better results with adjusted sliders for cpu pitching, let me know.

I'm starting to think maybe there's a setting (not slider) that is triggering this.

What settings do you have different than me in post 1?

I play with the same settings as you have in the first post. Only thing different is that I play pretty much all of my games with Quick Counts. Not sure if that would cause it. I'm about to start another game and play with QC off and see how it plays out. I might have to save halfway through as my eyes are getting heavy lol. But if so I'll finish it in the morning and let you know how it goes regarding the CPU starting pitcher.
