Time to stream! I'm starting to use a lot of custom defensive shifts, and they seem to be helping. We lost 2 out of 3 in Atlanta, but return home to face the Nationals after we steal the last game of that Atlanta series.

Is it just me or has there been more balls being called since the patch cause I use the umpires call according to there vision so varies depending on the umpire so is that happening or am I just pitching off

There are times I want to tell my catcher not to catch it and throw it at the ump I get so frustrated at times from him not calling anything on the corners for me. And then I come to bat and I get worse pitches called for strikes.

Hey Mike - I just finished up watching your stream and noticed the issues for shifts with people on base. Personally I've noticed when using the Always setting for shifts that's what seems to cause problems. Yes it's a pain to do it by setting the shift by batter I have seen an easier time. I basically review each batter to start the game and review who I might want to use shifts for in the game ( I typically only use for good hitters or ones with dramatic zones). Hope this helps and makes sense. Hopefully they fix it so you can set it for nobody in base and then if people are on base it goes to default for that situation and change as you need.

There is something that I don't really understand and I can't find the logic behind. When I hit the ball with a good timing, 95% of the time, it ends with a ground ball or a lazy fly ball but if I hit the same ball with a late or early swing, the hit is better and it's a base hit. But the CPU, when he hit with a good timing, it's a base hit or a HR.

To me, a good timing should give a better result than a early/late timing. So, what's really going on with that ?

What do you mean ? You're saying if I raise the difficulty, a good swing will be better than a early/late swing ?

EDIT : So, I tried with HoF but it was the same thing. I hit 2 HR, both with a good timing for a fly ball. Every time I had a base hit, it was after a early/late swing while the CPU, every time he hit the ball with a good swing, it was base hit/double.

So to be honest, I think something has changed with the last patch because when I hit a fastball right in the middle of the strike zone with a good swing and with a batter who have 70+ contact and it ends with a lazy fly ball / groundout, I'm not sure this is really working correctly.

Just checking in again as it's been a while. Aside from the qc pitching updates I've made (hum control 5, consist 8, cpu contact 3) I'm hitting with 7 contact as was struggling still on 5 (team still last in average). Having some great games with my braves and sit a fairly realistic 30-39.

Still need Freeman sliders as he has 30 home runs through 67 games (indeed, 30 of his 79 hits are long balls). He is second in average (.324) and leads the majors in hr and rbis (70)!

Inciarte hitting well at the top and Kemp has started to come to life. Markakis is still hitting under 200 as is Adonis garcia. Mixed bag, but really enjoyable gameplay. Thanks Mike, my fave show yet as a result of the thought gone into this set.

I just had something crazy happen so I'm up 1 run top of the 9th I'm pitching and guys on the corners 1 out the computer tried to steal 2nd and home so the meter came for me to catch the guy at first from stealing I didn't see the guy at 3rd trying to steal home so I tried to catch the guy trying to steal second but what I'm wondering is how would I have stopped the guy trying to steal home? Just don't throw it? But the throw meter appeared for me to catch the dude trying to steal second anyone know so next time I won't get home stolen

I've had a guy who has been injured while he was sitting on the 3rd base, after the next batter has been struck out. Thankfully, he's only out for 1-6 days.

Just one question : do you think that the patches could have messed up my save with the Dodgers ? Because I've started a new franchise with the Tigers and after 4 games, I saw a huge difference to the hitting. I beat the White 11-1, 4-2 and 10-1 and the Red Sox 3-2 and my team finished those games with 10 and more hits (except during the victory 4-2 against the White Sox). I didn't changed the difficulty and I have the same approach at bat.
