I'm not sure there is a slider setting. This slider feels like it's a victim of a domino effect starting with the roster limits.
This year I had four catchers get injured. It was a disaster. You just can't cope with more than that with only 90 men on the roster.
But on the flipside, we have to acknowledge technical limitations and the complete insanity of putting in all levels of pro ball.
I don't need realism, but I do want consistency between played games and simmed games.
I heard a really good argument about durability in another thread, and I think it really works for people's injury concerns.
For position players, their stamina bar represents wear and tear type stuff, stuff that it is minor and possible to play through. Think things like cuts, bruises, sprains, flu like symtoms, etc. While the stamina bar degrades a little too uniformly, the amount of rest they will need shakes out to about how often they would need to sit over a season for things like this.
The injuries you hear about are only the unplayable injuries, and they work on their own system.
When you think about it like that, you're guys are getting injured and needing time off all the time, and injuries are a lot higher than the CPU tells you. It's not a perfect system but once I started thinking about it like that I was a lot happier with it.
