Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 18 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
I got pounded today by the Angels 14-5
Sonny Gray was rocked hard for 8 runs in just 5 innings.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 18 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
I love the sliders so far. The sliders are what is on the OP. After 66 games with the Yankees we are 40-26. 3 games back from the Red Sox. 3 week’s ago I was 9 games back but we won 7 games in a row and won 9 of the last 10 games to close the gap a little. The Yankees are 1 game back of the wild card race as well. Aaron Hicks who was hitting .297 just tore his archilles tendon and is out the rest of the year. Drury has been out for the past month but is due back in the next series. Here are some of my stats.

My starting rotation is struggling outside of Tanaka. Montgomery was sent down to the minors and Sabathia was sent to the bullpen. Gray has been pitching well as of late. Severino has had his good games and bad games. Yankees traded for Harvey as he was not happy with the Mets. The Yankees sent Adam Warren and a prospect for Harvey.
Andujar will probably be sent down when Drury comes back cause he’s been struggling and will get some work in the minors to get more seasoning in.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 18 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
Game 5 saw the Dodgers stay alive with a 5-3 win.
They scored 2 in the 1st off Keuchel but the Astros battled back against Kershaw to take a 3-2 lead in the 5th. Both starters were out after the 6th and it stayed 3-2 until the 8th.
Hector Rondon, who’s been close to perfect for Houston in the postseason, gave up his first runs on a 2 run HR by Corey Seager and LA got another run off Giles in the 9th.
Kenley Jansen came in and although he gave up 2 hits he still closed it out again earning his 6th save in the postseason and kept his ERA at 0.
One other note from this game is Justin Turner who now has 20 RBIs this postseason (1 behind the MLB record of 21 set by David Freese in 2011) and he’s hitting .404!
The series now shifts back to LA for Game 6 and possibly Game 7.
Game 6 will be live shortly.

Game 6, Dodgers win 5-4.
A real tight and tense game as you might expect at this stage.
Fiers and Maeda started a pitching duel but in the end HRs were the story of this one.
Springer hit a solo shot leading off the 4th to give the Astros the lead.
LA roared back in the 6th where Pederson and Turner went back to back and Puig drove in 2 more on a gap double (4-1 Dodgers).
Reddick demolished a hanging curve from Maeda for a 2 run blast in the 7th before Pederson responded in the bottom of the inning with another solo HR.
Tyler White brought the Astros to within 1 with an RBI groundout in the 8th but the Astros weren’t able to score any more runs off some chances late and once again Kenley Jansen closed out the win for LA.
So the season will end tonight in the most exciting way, a Game 7. Will the Dodgers carry their momentum coming back from a 3-1 series deficit all the way to the crown or can the Astros bounce back and claim back to back World Championships. Either way it should be a good one.
I’ll post here when I’m going live later today.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 18 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
I have been using these sliders for my franchise and enjoying the ride. I played one game since the latest patch, and the outfielders 'misplayed' 3 balls that led to 3 triples. I don't know if this is coincidental or not. I had not seen this happen for quite a while.
Two of these were misplayed by Rosario(Minn), a decent OF, and the other by Grossman.
Anyone else?
As for Grossman, he is just a terrible corner outfielder. He's painful to watch in RL

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 18 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
Kudos to those who suggested some tips regarding generating swings and misses, I struggled with this on HOF at release. I’ve modified my approach and learned a lot more about my pitching staff and as a result am seeing great K numbers for both teams now.
This game just keeps me coming back day after day. To me it’s the best simulation sports game I’ve played. The way the stats and gameplay balance, is simply amazing. My last post I was mired in a big slump at the plate. Bats have woken up over the last week, sparked my by acquisition of Wellington Castillo. He has really filled my lineup out as a power threat lower in the order.
Playing with OP set to a T, except pitch speeds as my reflexes aren’t quite as sharp as others in the thread. I do have infield fielding errors 1 tick up as well.
Having a blast with these. Lost 5 of 6 before taking game 1 vs Toronto behind a two out rally in the 6th.Twitch: Goblue81188Comment

Hey A&S -
What settings do you have for SP STAM, RP STAM and HOOK when simming games? Lowe has them at 9SP 0 RP and 7 HOOK.
Do you even track/care about sim stats as it pertains to complete games/innings pitched?
Not trolling here, it's a serious question.
Thanks,

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 18 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
Sure thing, I do too.
I was referring to the cpu vs cpu games that happen within a franchise.
From doing tons of research on this site, I believe you need to ensure that no teams have a RP in the long relief spot, and need to tweak SP/RP staminas and the hook slider for sim stats to play out better.

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 18 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
I posted on here that a couple games ago I lost Aaron Hicks for the season with a torn archilles tendon. Well the game after Bird hit a walk off game winning home run he injured his shoulder. First reports were that he might miss the rest of the season but it’s just going to be 1 or 2 months so he should be back by August. Cessa and Neil Walker both got injured and are day to day. With injuries at 9 they sure come in bunches it seems like. I feel like I’m cheating if I go back down to 8.Comment

Re: Armor & Sword & Marino’s MLB The Show 18 Classic/Directional Simulation Sliders
Armors 4.0 set on HOF must be my equal match. Ive played about 9 games with them and this is my 5th extra innings game now. Might need to slightly adjust something. These 13 to 17 inning games kill me. Once in awhile ok, but 5 out of 9 uugghhh.Really wish sports games played to ratings!
Only thing SIM about sports games now, are the team name and players
