Mine have been on the lower side. I chalk it up to the low K ratings of Matz, Harvey, and whoever else was being sacrificed while Syndergaard has been out. It varies for me. I've had games with 3 Ks with deGrom, and I've had 12. I see in your other post, you're using the Indians. You should get quite a few with that filthy staff...

Since restarting my franchise with the Yankees I had a 10 K game with Severino, followed by a 9 K with Tanaka. Sebathia only managed 1 my next game followed by 6 from Cloudy Gray. Montgomery struck out 8 of the first 9 in my next game but he had to leave in the 5th because he was totally gassed. So the strikeouts are definitely there, it all depends on how you setup the cpu hitters. Pretty in line with what I’d expect though.

I agree with setting them up. I've made my fair share of mistakes with two strikes. That put a dent in my numbers, too...

I’m also trying to get ahold of classic pitching. I was using analog and it was way too easy to pitch. I flirted with a shutout every game so I’m now giving classic a shot

How’s everybody’s strikeout numbers when pitching with these? I’m coming over from mike Lowe sliders and he has cpu timing at zero as armour has it at 5

With good K pitchers if you know how to set them up(good sound pitch sequencing) have good to great stuff that day you should have no issues striking out the CPU and getting swings and misses.

There's some quirks you'll feel out as you gett used to it and you'll start to try to plan for them.

Be prepared for things not to go as you hoped sometimes, though. Classic really gives you a feel for the pitcher's actual stuff that day since there's little you can do about that other than change your approach on the mound and hope it works out.

It's really fun. Just don't let the flies in the ointment turn you off. That's where the fun, thrill, please-God-don't-let-this-go-down-the-middle-again of the interface begins.

OK, so after 559 plate appearances, I have a strikeout rate of just under 9% and 2nd place has a 16% strikeout rate. Is this anything I should worry about fixing or does it sound like I need to play more games to know for sure?

It is really personal preference and what you are looking for in your franchise. If youre looking for sim stats then yes it is too low, even for 14 or 15 games. Anything is possible but more than likely you will stay somewhere close to that rate. It may even go lower as you get better at hitting at your level, but its not likely it will go much higher at this point. That rate should be pretty stable by now, as K% rate begins to stabilize quickly compared to most stats.

Generally 17% or so is the best in the league. And somewhere 25% to 30% i think is generally the worst.

If it doesn't bother you, and you are having fun, that is what matters most. If you are a stat junky like me, then you probably would want to adjust something to make it more realistic. If you dont mind having a low K rate, you should probably aim your Babip lower than normal to compensate, because you are putting extra balls in play that would normally be "automatic" outs, so to speak.

But it really comes down to preference and making the game fun for you. If you are having fun, thats what matters. Its a long season, you want to enjoy it.

Honestly, just sell the game. You'll never get the stats you want with this broken game. I popped out with Cespedes yesterday on a hanging curveball. Now, my dog has broken ribs, and Cespedes doesn't have a HR. I stubbed my toe this morning, too. SDS and their bedframes.../s
