I feel Hall of fame hitting I would be lucky to get more then 5 hits a game.
I haven't tried Hof hitting yet because the variety I'm getting on allstar is perfect for me. Plus I give up to many runs a game to hit on Hof I will lose evergame and right now I'm 16-15 with allstar hitting and Hof pitching and Iove it.

I will say ratings are huge obviously, playing on these higher settings you can really tell the batters with low contacts and vision as well as the pitchers with high or low K/9. Also keep in mind that there are just ups and down throughout the year even with K's (if you're playing in chise anyway).
AGREED 100%...One thing I would add is knowing how to work the count, knowing what the hitter is expecting on a certain pitch count will help alot...if you get behind 3-0 or whatever in the count the batter is probably expecting FAST BALL DOWN THE MIDDLE lol...so throw something different and hope for the best[emoji3]🤣, this game does a great job of mimmicking the game pf baseball.

FWIW - played my first game of my Brewers franchise last night with HOF hitting and Armour’s sliders. I’m 54 years old and have pitch speeds at 6. Won 9-5 and got 13 hits including 3 homers. Homers came from unlikely players - Villar, Arcia and Cain. If I can do it, anyone can!!

I will eventually go to HOF if it gets to easy. Right now I'm 6th in batting average. If I keep moving up I might make the move.

I will probably do the same, My first test run with the setup will be today since I have some free time but I must admit I enjoyed the way the cpu pitched in Armor's stream I watched last night...they mixed it up nicely against him but he still made some nice hits, I think the secret is in his fielder speed and reaction time sliders, saw a few balls fall in the gaps that looked great, you hardly ever see those on default.

Armour, can you explain your strategy for hitting with directional? Do you move the analog stick while the ball is traveling? Do you do it pretty much every pitch? I'm sure you've probably explained this before but I'm interested to hear how you hit because you see me to get good results.

I am enjoying the sliders with two areas of concern. The first is the pitcher stamina, which I feel maybe one click too low. The second is the low amount of human walks drawn as the hitter . I think the CPU is throwing too many strikes, especially on three ball counts.

Armor, or anyone, I’m doing 30 team control but through 4 games haven’t seen a single injury for any of the teams with injuries set to on. It’s possible that I have cpu control rosters on although they are off by default in the menu when you set up your franchise. There is no way to check since it’s only done on that screen. Is there another way to check. I’d hate to restart . Thanks

HighCmp, Im using analog pitching, like you are. Are you running with these sliders as is for CPU offense and level? How about pitcher control and consistency for user?

I just press “x” every time and get great results. No analog stick whatsoever. Only time I use anything other than pressing “x” is when I pull down the left analog stick when my pitcher is trying to lay down a sacrifice bunt.

Anyone trying cpu strike frequency at a lower setting? Even with it at zero, I am not seeing very many walks at all.

It is all situational for me. So many factors depending on the type of hitter, counts, situation, score etc etc.

First off as far as swing types and counts:

                            Normal Swing:

                            0-0, 1-0, 2-0, 3-1, 2-2, 3-2

                            Contact swing

                            All Pitchers

                            0-2, 1-2,

                            2-2, 3-2
Situational - with weaker hitters to make contact and move runners or sacrifice fly.

Power Swing only with my very best power hitters when I typically have no one on with no outs or no one on with 2 outs.

                            0-0, 1-0, 2-0, 3-0 (green light) 3-1 counts.

                            Directional strategy:

I position the LS pre pitch and hold throughout the swing however as you know I do not use the visual aide showing the influence (don't need it).

Dead Pull Contact Hitters if the situation calls for a pull

LS at the 9 o'clock for RH 3 o'clock for left handers

                            Hitters counts only 0-0, 1-0, 2-0, 3-1

Pull Power Hitters with normal swing

                            LS position

10/11 o'clock positions for RH hitters

                            1/2 o'clock for LH hitters

                            Hitters counts only 0-0, 1-0, 2-0, 3-1

Opposite field strategy for RH hitters so I can hit behind the runner...early in counts and hitter counts (0-0, 1-0, 2-0 or 3-1) LS is at 3'clock for LH hitters at 9 o'clock

If I get into a pitchers count or neutral count (0-1, 0-2, 1-1, 2-2, 3-2) I do not use stick influence but I allow the ball to travel deep so I can either slap it the other way or fight it off.

When I simply want to induce a sac fly or ground ball....LS in 12 o'clock or 6 o'clock receptively in hitters counts only.

So I think you can see my approach. In hitters counts I can be far more selective with my pitches and use the LS influence. Basically depending on what I want to do I am looking for one pitch in one spot on 0-0, 1-0, 2-0, 3-1 counts (I rarely green light on 3-0 unless I am up big or down big or have a gut feeling). When I am in pitchers counts or neutral accounts I am simply using my normal or contact swing with no stick influence as I am in battle mode and trying to work the count.

I hope that gives you a good idea of my approach at the dish.

I can easily draw 5 walks or more per game depending on matchup and I’m using the strike frequency at 5...which results in more borderline pitches for added difficulty.

The key is that you have to be selective and sometimes take that first pitch strike and build up their pitch counts.

I would estimate that I take the first strike 85% of all at bats. The problem is when I get ahead in the count even at 3-0 , every single pitcher becomes Greg Maddux . If I get two walks per game, it is a minor miracle.
