As far as tapping, it really is getting to know your pitcher. I look for a sweet spot when they become set before starting towards home plate.
        Examples:
Tanaka - When his lead leg comes back and is extended straight I release
Sabathia - Taps his lead leg twice on the rubber before starting towards home plate, I try and time to release just before the 2nd tap.
Chapman - I release at the top of his hip rotation right before he starts toward home.

Not an exact science, but I have found a good window with most of the Yankees staff. You will still miss a spot, leave a ball up or have a 'pitchers' pitch hammered, which I love about HOF pitching.

It gets pretty tricky to get the perfect release point with guys with slow deliveries like Tanaka. Then you have to change your method with runners on base as his delivery gets shorter.

These sliders are awesome.. especially the cpu pitcher, human hitter dynamic but I’m really annoyed with pitching in this game. The cpu makes contact on a lot of pitches. I feel like I can never just blow a fastball by a hitter. I get it we should set them up but early in the count I should be able to get more Misses without having to set them up for a miss. It’s really the only part of the game I’m
          Not enjoying

Drop the CPU timing slider by 1 and see if that helps.

I feel the same way about Greinke. His delivery puts me to sleep. I’m considering trading him

Are you playing with pitch markers Off? Because I had difficulty making the cpu miss before when I had it on.

Yeah just turned that off and the vibration is now off. With it on I had a tendency to keep the ball in the one more and felt restricted when pitching. I’ve completely stopped following any of the catchers calls. It seems to have done the trick. I don’t even follow his pitch suggestion. Now it’s gotten a lot easier for me to change speeds and locations when pitches

I have no house rules when it comes to following the catchers calls. If I like them I use them...if i don't I shake him off.

I get plenty of swings and misses from the CPU.....plenty.

Armor, just wanted to say thanks for the base set. I've been seeing a ton of HRs, but that's mostly from mistakes getting punished. Most of my mistakes are middle, middle. Changeups, mostly. Might have had a breakthrough in figuring it out. Wasn't holding it long enough. Anyway, these have given me some damn good games to start my season. I'm tied for last in walks (Be more jealous, guys). Worked four my last game. Made a few personal tweaks, but streamed yesterday, and had some nice games. Blown save, five run rally that lead to a win, big lead squandered in the 9th. They should be archived for anyone who actually cares. I made the move to directional earlier this year. I normally start with zone, but go to directional because it helps me focus more. This year directional is a dream. I cheered the other day because I hit a flair the other way and moved a runner over. Game has me hooked. Thanks, again...

PLENTY OF SWINGS AND MISSES! Been witnessing with my own 2 eyes while watching his live streams and from my own gameplay...this game is just a thing of beauty when I "play the video game like REAL BASEBALL instead of playing baseball like a video game." WHOA...HAD TO QUOTE THAT! I NEED TO TRADEMARK/COPYRIGHT THAT!!🤣🤣

I was feeling the same way, and slideritis was creeping up on me. But in my next game Jordan Montgomery fanned 7 Jays in the first three innings (6 swinging) and my staff combined to K 13. It is true, you just gotta keep playing.
