mkharsh33 MLB The Show 18 - simulation sliders
I’m gonna have to try this slider. Looks intriguing... 0 contact, 10 solid hits. Hmm. May try a game tonight (depends on when I get my free time after kids and wife goes to bed)
Though I’ll be using classic pitching and directional batting (buttons)
All star batting and legend pitching is perfect for me. I’ve just moved to legend recently cause I found pitching too easy. Batting not too much.

Re: mkharsh33 MLB The Show 18 - simulation sliders
Small sample but I’m seeing a lot more hard line drives. I didn’t really play full game. Played maybe first couple innings and last couple. I couldn’t get much hitting going. Kept striking out lol. But again small sample..

Re: mkharsh33 MLB The Show 18 - simulation sliders
Balls are definitely "crushed" with this set. I hit to 450 ft bombs in SD (with Braun and Thames).
The set doesn't play bad, but man....I give up at least a hit an inning to the cpu. I get my strikeouts, but this set (specifically user pitching sliders set to 0 on Legend) yields a ton of offense for the cpu - almost too much.
I've played 4 test franchise games and haven't even come close to dominating on the mound yet. 2 of those games I specifically used Scherzer and deGrom just to see, and the cpu tagged both of them.
This set is worth investing more time into, but I think slight tweaks to user pitching and or cpu hitting might be warranted.

Appreciate the feedback. I'm not a "lifer" of MLBTS, so I'm putting out my first ever slider set. I don't claim any expertise here, just hours and hours of adjustments, beginning with the "eye test" and then trying to find the right statistical outcomes, understanding that baseball is a widely varied game with regard to final scores and all that happens in a game. The adjustments that any of you need to make are simple - pitching too hard, just tweak something in ONE area. Same with hitting. You'll still see popups, both behind the plate and in the infield, as well as bloops and high fly balls to the outfield - my aim was to cut down on the AMOUNT of them as it's overdone. I've made a personal tweak to the set noted on page one...
For me, I've raised CPU PITCHER CONSISTENCY to 6 (raised from 5). Felt like I was getting too many hits off of really good pitchers.
At the end of the day, I put this out so we can ENJOY the game!STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Re: mkharsh33 MLB The Show 18 - simulation sliders
First game with sliders were against Corey Kluber and the Indians. He shut me down and actually stayed in the game with like 120 pitches. Was only able to get 1 run on 3 hits. I gave up some homers and 7 runs.
Next game was against David Price. Struggled early, fell behind 0-3. Traded runs through the innings and was trailing 3-6. Tied it late with a home run and then won it in the 9th with a home run.
I do like that its harder to pitch and that its easier to strikeout, especially for lower skilled hitters. I usually build my team with no-names, minor leaguers, top prospects and keeping some stars. So my depth is pretty much good at fielding but crap at hitting.Comment

I made another personal change - so try this:
cpu pitcher control - 3
cpu pitcher consistency - 7
these are the only tweaks i've made to page 1.STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

yes - this has been my aim. what you just noted - I want to see dominant cpu pitchers do just that. i think the simple solution is to just raise some cpu pitcher sliders.

Re: mkharsh33 MLB The Show 18 - simulation sliders
the effects have been fewer base hits. i've noticed i've struck out a little bit more on breaking pitches from really good pitchers. so that's been a positive because i felt like i could get a hit provided i got the pitcher into a deeper count. it seems like instead of grooving a FB on a 3-2 count, they're more likely to now go to a breaking ball and hit their spots just a bit better. i can still get a hit, just not as frequent. i think this has helped.STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Re: mkharsh33 MLB The Show 18 - simulation sliders
oh, my bad. i *think* this could be final. The problem is the more I play, the more patient I become, the better I get. I simply do not want to go up a level in hitting because so many have said that all-star hitting is the way to go. fortunately this slider set has given me plenty of wiggle room to make the cpu pitcher better if i need to go there. but i'm thinking this is pretty close to final.

Re: mkharsh33 MLB The Show 18 - simulation sliders
rarely - like almost never. I simply use the "X" button. I like the ratings to shine through for the players. I have hit plenty of HR's and have never really even used the power (square) button.STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS
