Works like it always did before. I was simply in a funk on my timing.

With the 1998 Yankees I have already stolen 3 bases with Jeter as we took the season opening series from a very good Orioles team 2 games to 1.

    The roster is amazing!!!

Thank you! This is why I loved providing the 98 file is to read up on what guys are doing. For those interested it’s in the vault under my same username. I’m working on some updates to it. Also, I’m currently taking off from it and creating the entire 1999 season. It’s going to take me a few weeks, but well worth it. Then that’s it for me. Want to eventually play some games as I think I’ve nailed my sliders (using ideas I read in all of the threads. I value the input here from you guys!

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider

My last post got buried on the bottom of the last page but looking for some serious insight from those of y’all who play in this thread. I play exactly as the OP shows! Thanks y’all.

Armor and others..looking for a little feedback. I’m now 35 games in my Yankees franchise. I sit at 25-10. My team offensive stats are pretty normal except for HR:

      Team BA: .278 (6th)
Runs: 217 (1st by one run)
      Hits: 328 (7th)
      Doubles: 60 (11th)
      Triples: 11 (1st)
      Homers: 90 (2nd place has 66 LOL)

My question is...do y’all think I should lower the power and timing slider to 4? Most of my stats are pretty in line with the rest of the top offenses in the league except that HR stat. Or do y’all think it’s more of a product of my lineup? Overall I’m having a blast.

Stick with it. Make no changes. Over 162 games.....you will be fine. And being the Yankees you should be an offensive juggernaut. I can say with confidence your HR pace will slow down.

You have a long way to go. And do you play every pitch every inning? If not....I really can’t sit here and vouch for simulated stats.

I play every game every pitch and own all my statistics. If you are doing that....it will all revert to the mean at some point and you will also have outlier seasons with players.

        Let the season unfold.

While this is a bit high, it’s not THAT high. This is an average of 2.5 HR/game.

For reference, the Yankees hit 1.9 HR/game last season. So yeah, you’re a little high, but only through 35 games, and not out of the realm of possibility.

I do play every inning of every game. It’s been a blast. I appreciate the feedback. I will stick with! It’s been a blast. I actually just won on a walk-off HR against the Pirates. I’m 26-10. And as everyone has noted the competition has not been fierce at all through these 36 games.

Was wondering about this myself as it says "Fixed an issue that allowed the user to initiate a “perfect jump” steal attempt in any game versus the CPU."

Curious if this may fix our base running issues that Armor has discussed among others.

No this nerfs a cheat method guys were using online vs the CPU in DD.

My steal issues were my own issues of being in a funk with my rhythm and timing.

                    All better now!

So just to be abundantly clear here...

You hit L2 to initiate the steal (there will be a rumble) but you don't hold L2. THEN you hold L1 (which typically extends the lead if you let off of it) and release it as soon as the pitcher goes to the plate? Obviously, I may be wrong here, but I thought holding L2 was the one you wanted to release just a split second before the pitcher lifted his leg. I get thrown out... a lot, but if I time it with L2 the jumps are so good that I'm usually safe by a mile. I've never really tried holding L1 and releasing it. But I'll be giving it a shot.

Downloaded that 1998 Mkharsh roster and set up a Yankees franchise. Haven’t played a game yet but did look at mist of the teams rosters. Oh the memories of those classic Yankee squads! Can’t wait to play with O’Neil and Bernie. Going to be epic

Yes. The first moment the pitcher lifts the front leg let go of L1. Sometimes I even let it go just before if I have a good feel he is about to go home with the pitch.

We are on a roll , we are coming of our first sweep of the season and now we head to Oakland and try to make it 4 in a row . Randal Grichuck has been dreadful this season hitting around .160 and has 0 home runs in the first 40 games of the season .
But here he has finally come to life , hitting his 1st homer of the season and it was a GRAND SLAM ! He had 7 rbis total in this game and hopefully things can turn around for him now.

And the Jays have also made their 1st big move of the season and picked up German Marquez from the Rockies as we try to strengthen our rotation and challenge for the Wild Card . We put a beating on Sean Manaea in this one and chased him out of the game early on , but the Athletics would not go down so easily and made this a great and entertaining game . I cant get enough of this game , having the best games and enjoying this so much .

I tried this a few times last game and I have an observation. It seemed to me that holding L1 (even without a release) would give my runners better jumps, near perfect in fact. I say this because on two occasions I went to steal and was waiting to release L1 when I saw the pitcher go to the plate. For whatever reason I was very slow in my recognition and did not release it as quickly as I would have liked. However, my runners still took off. I noticed that they broke even BEFORE I let off L1.

I know when using L2 for this break that if you release it before the pitcher goes to the plate and the pitcher will just step off the rubber and you'll be dead meat as you've just taken off. I wonder, does the same thing happen with L1? Meaning, if you release it well before the pitcher goes to the plate, does the runner just take off?
