Oh, if it was only that easy for me, lol! I have a terrible time getting very far in any of my franchises because I feel the need to start my franchise over every time I make an adjustment of some sort. I feel sick to my stomach once I press that delete button, but I just can’t help it. I need some sort of MLB support group!!

But I’m pretty confident I have now found the sliders and settings to start again and to keep me going.

Armour’s sliders except for pitch speed at 9/8 and human and cpu control/consistency at 6/5. I think this is a fair balance to make pitching realistic when using my non-clean screen approach. Pitching is a little less challenging for me than Armour’s clean screen approach so I think a switch back to 5 “makes up” for that.

    Wish me luck!!

I use to be as bad. I'd start over constantly due to Slider changes, updated Rosters, Minors etc. I guess with not having a IRL Season(Yet) I've stuck with the Chise I have going....and I've enjoyed it more than any other time I've played the Show.

I'm loving the story that's playing out in my Franchise and how the games play. Harper having a Triple Crown/MVP year, and yet the Nats are right on our tails for the Division.

As much as I enjoyed playing 19, 20 has been even more incredible. Once I got out of the habit of worrying about making sure Rosters were realistic to the T, Sliders, and Stats being as close to IRL as possibly, it's made 20 one of my most favorite games for the last couple years.

Quick question. Since the latest slider update I've played 5 games and all of the sudden I can't strike batters out. One of the games I literally had 2ks total. Anyone else having that issue? It wasn't a thing before the update.

I'll speak to this from my experiences (though acknowledging Armor's setup is a bit different).

Increasing user pitch control makes the CPU a bit more patient. You can't rely on throwing strikes on the edge (and hoping they'll drift out of the zone to induce a miss like when Control is at default). You HAVE to aim outside the zone at the appropriate times and set up hitters.

Pitcher K/9 ratings are also CRUCIAL to this working well.

Interesting. It's happening to me again right now. I'm in the 6th inning and I've struck out one batter. Feels like they're making contact with everything.

I hope lol. I'm getting next to no swings and misses. I'm on my way to five straight losses with the updated set.

Piggybacking off what Josh said, I think you have to throw the ball out of the zone more deliberately now with the control slider up a notch. You can't rely on a pitch to drop out of the zone, you have to make that happen. It takes a little getting used to but start going out of the zone deliberately on 2-strike counts and I think you'll notice a difference.

I fanned 15 Red Sox with the OP using Sevi and my bullpen.

There is no problems with the set up. You just really have to go inside and out, up and down and sequence your pitches well.

Oh I'm sure the problem is just me. I normally go with my catchers call and since the update I have sucked at pitching. I was good not great before the update. Playing the way I'd been playing simply doesn't work. anymore. Game I just finished I had 3ks total.

Part of it too is I've never been able to master classic pitching. I try to vary how long I hold the button and it was mostly working before the update. Now my whole approach seems to be trash lol.

I find turning off vibration really helped me. I try to never tap the button, usually holding it for a solid 1-second count. I was god awful with Classic a few cycles ago but I can't imagine playing on anything else now. Really get used to your pitchers, take the 8 warm up pitches out of the pen to get a hang of who you're using. Heck, even fire up a practice session with the team you're using in your franchise to get a better feel for your arms.

I struck out nine with my starter last night through 8 but my bullpen imploded to give up 7 runs on 5 consecutive hits. At least in game the variety is there but unfortunately it was in the same game. Tough loss

Would you say it's best to vary the press or is there a definite release point for each pitcher? I've heard it both ways. From my experience tapping the button will get you rocked quick.
