Are we sure there is no carry over from 20 to 21 if we stay on ps4.

They haven't delineated any difference as of this time.

I suspect the answer is "no"...but who knows?

I was planning when I got a ps5 to start a whole new franchise anyways. For me, I'll hold off getting mlbts till then. Which I am in no rush to get. So, I'll keep playing 20 till then.

Me too.

But I simply do not think we see it this cycle. And I am not so sure Y2Y ever comes back. All speculation at this point.

If the gameplay stays the same as we have come to expect and franchise gets a much needed upgrade. I am all for it.

The discontinuation though made it easy for me not to pick up 21. No reason to on the PS4 Pro.

Couldn't agree more I have made the same choice, and working hard on a 2021 roster with updated service time and contracts to start by the end of Feb. some MAJOR new things would have to wow me to get 21 this year day 1.

Can I get some help and opinions from the best community ever ? I came back to start a new Franchise with my Jays after some exciting signings this FA . I have never been more excited as i am now to play this game , just need help and some feedback for 1 pitcher im looking to bring in . My personal choice would be to sign up Big Maple and T. Walker after the amazing season he had with us last season , but don't think that's happening for whatever reasons , so I'm looking to bring someone in via trade . Luis Castillo keeps getting mentioned but Reds would want a Gurriel Jr. package and I'm not giving up Gurriel Jr . So I've narrowed it down to Marco Gonzales and German Marquez . Any thoughts on who I should send either Seattle and the Rockies to not fleece them? I'm really leaning towards Marco btw , really would appreciate some feedback just to give a fair return to either team .

Yankees Year 5 Opening Day is here!!

Tonight 10:15 EST Steaming live the Yankees begin defense of their World Championship and loom to win their third in 5 seasons!!

The roster has for the most part stayed intact. We did say goodbye to Mark Melencon and Joe Panik (who were rentals from the Tanaka and LeMahieu trade. Also GM Michael Sword made the difficult decision to send down 37 year old OF Brett Gardner to AAA. It was a tough pill for Gardy to swallow.
Is that it for him? He is on a 1 year 3MM contract.

Tyler Wade takes over full time at 2B.
Rookie CF Walter Ryu who had a scorching Spring Training at the plate not only made the 26 Man roster, he is starting in CF on opening day and according to manager Sammy Law in a platoon with incumbent CF Clint Frazier who was the full time CF in 2020.

Rule 5 draft pick RHP Ariel Juardo won the 5th spot in the rotation over 2nd year RHP Joel Cardenas who is in the pen as a long reliever.

The only thing that I can say is they never advertised or mentioned franchise in a preview or a glimpse of the features. It was always a small bullet point under something else. For them to say franchise improvements or revamping hopefully means improvements.

Just a thought to go with Armor’s assumption of them “dumbing” it down...I wonder if they will put the trading feature that was in March to October and put that in franchise. I don’t play that but isn’t there a “new” feature where they suggest a couple different trades to help your team?

The real meat and potatoes for me is gameplay is seriously amazing on 20, and I have an incredible franchise I am playing that I am not giving up.

I had no intentions of purchasing a PS5 for a little while and this really made the decision to pass on the PS4 version of 21 extremely easy.

I’m with you Brother I’m keeping 20 until I get my ps5 than I guess I will start my franchise over. This not having year to year saves doesn’t make me happy. I’m only in year two since I lost my franchise last year when my ps4 crashed but I love the team I have right now and want to keep this franchise going.

With that said I will be starting year 2 of my Braves franchise this week.

I should have taken a pic but I played my first game with my new 2021 rosters I have made(any future moves I will just do in my franchise 30 team control until real life spring training) I couldn't wait I wanted to start a franchise

One hell of a opening day game to start with between tigers and Indians.

Indians walked it off in the 9th innings for a 2-1 win. Bieber had 8 strikeouts. and 3 walks player of the game and Boyd had a great game as well for the tigers.

Both teams struggled to get runners across with players on base but it was a pinch hit from Indians rookie Daniel Johnson that hit a double. Herendenz walked and Rameriz walked it off with a big 2 out hit 3-2 count to right filed that almost homered but ended the game.

no homers were hit in the game. we had a triple and a couple of doubles. the strikeout rate looked how it should. and 1 error on the tigers. the tigers run came from what SHOULD have been a error in my opinion a bad throw to 2nd base but the CPU didn't rule it that way for some reason. otherwise Beiber may have had 7 scoreless innings.

I have no issues to report after 1 game and I enjoyed myself so much!

Nothing to do with sliders at all, but still I find it frustrating the CPU doesn't bring setup guys in with close games late and only brings them in if they have a lead in the 8th innings. José Cisnero was the one who got the loss for the tigers but I feel they should have brought in Sotto or Farmer in a close game like that. especially on day 1 with no one tired.

next game Nats v mets. should be a classic with 2 aces! looking forward to playing with the mets new lineup.

Armor, was watching one of your Yankees year 5 games and don’t think I’ve ever seen what I just saw. Catcher throws to 2nd to gun down the guy stealing the bag. The throw goes over the SS head and into CF but goes right by the CF . Never seen that in the show before. Pretty crazy stuff.

Yup....insane!!!!! Ended up losing the ball game in 12 innings.

Not only was that a crazy moment. How about this one.

Top of the 9th, 1 out, 1 on down 7-5.

I decide to pinch hit rookie CF Walter Ryu for Clint Frazier vs Red Sox closer Edwardo Nunez.

He hits a line drive 2R HR just inside the pesky pole to tie it up. I went freaking nuts.

LOVE THIS GAME!!!!!

And we are no doubt staying with 20 for several more years. I am not getting a PS5 for a little while and with Y2Y gone.....I am sticking with 20 and all my incredible rosters from this community.

I wish all of you the best who are moving on to 21. But I will still keep this thread alive for those who will stick with 20 for a while.
