Thanks, Armor. I googled it this morning and think I know what to do. I was wondering how the SOTS would do with the PS5 if it carried over to the game. I am glad that it will carry over that cause I hate to take the time to do that again. I'm going to try tonight after work. I read that I have to be a PS Plus member to save it to the cloud.

For SOTS what I've read, you have to have both the PS4 and PS5 on and select to transfer the game from PS4 to PS5 via that route for the SOTS to stay saved. Seems doing it that way for games carries over everything, instead of cloud saves.

Unfortunately for me I got rid of my Pro once I knew my PS5 was being delivered, I checked everything, but SOTS doesn't seemed to be saved in any sort of cloud file that you can carryover. I had to redo all of mine on PS5, but was worth it with how great 20 plays on PS5.

Odd thing is, I had to do it AGAIN when I got my Digital PS5 and sold my Disc PS5 to my buddy, even though I have 20 saved on my external hdd. Really bugged me out that there just isn't a file that SOTS is saved to. You'd think it's tied to Rosters or Chise saves, it's not.

I love the stamina changes! however the manager hook down to 3 hmmm well this happened.

Yankees V Os. yankees up 3-0 Kluber pitching in the 7th. 2 runners on base. they were having Britton and wilson warm up in the Bp Kluber was at 104 pitches I probably would have hooked him right there and then.. he gives up a 3 run homer to Galvis and it is 3-3.

Voit homers the next innings the yankees end up winning 5-3 but the the but I think bad management ruined getting Kluber a great start and the win. I think it comes down to his stamina rating I think it was in the yellow at the time. but I reckon he probably would have been hooked had his stamina rating been lower and the score not been 3-0 I bet if the score was 3-2 he would have been hooked. the AI is weird about all this.

I didn't mind that it happened because that was a typical bad manager move that can happen in the real game but I wonder having that hook on 3 is what kept him in there longer

Over the past few games I’ve finally fully went with Armor’s clean screen approach and been having a blast. 1 loss, 2 wins. If anyone in here follows the franchise discussion thread in the main forum, well, I ended up reverting to an offseason save and just continued my franchise with the Yankees where we won WS Y1.

Something about having the pitch display off, going by the catcher’s signs, not having the energy bar on screen constantly and going mostly off pitch count and performance like a real manager has to makes success on the mound more satisfying. Only thing I can’t do yet is turn off the pitching ball marker but maybe I’ll get there.

The stamina changes have been pretty good for me. Honestly I may have done the same thing as the CPU in your Kluber example. Sometimes with a top pitcher who’s been dominating in that game I’ll push them a bit and risk leaving them in a bit longer then I should. Sometimes it backfires, sometimes it pays off. As a one off that’s not too crazy IMO.

One more question for my set up. I am in the process of transferring the data to the PS5. It is half way done and my MLB 20 is there but my music isn’t in yet. Hoping it will be in once it is done.

But I lost my user profiles and I was playing on All Star + When I first put the game on last night it asked me what my level was and I swore I put Hall of Fame. But I’m trying to get up to All Star + and I had to start at Beginner. I turned down all the cpu sliders to 0 and am the Yankees Cole facing the Cubs AA team. Still taking me 3 games to only get to Veteran. Still have 3 more levels to go. Side note, Cole had 24 strikeouts and at 21 the announcers did say that was the new record.

But how do I get back to the option where I can start at All Star? Or do I have to delete the game?

Not really. yankees fans would whine if they took Kluber out and then they lost that way and say 'Boon should have kept him in" they are famous for using hindsight on any Boon move with being armchair managers.

They did the same thing with Joe. doesn't matter who managers the yankees they will complain on any move that turns out to be wrong in hindsight. lol

the PS5 is wacky when it comes to USB external stuff. whatever you do don't just pull out your USB when in rest mode it completely shuts off your PS5 and then it runs the scanning for corrupt external drive.. I had to completely format my HD

Sony has to fix this crap up external drives are a mess right now on PS5 it's not the 90s where you have to safely remove the USB in options. a real pain. just be careful with SOTS copying files across with the PS5

So I turned on PS5 and selected transfer files from PS4. Selected MLB 20 and it is copying. I have the game and the saves but not the music yet. Did I do it the right way?

That I'm not sure of, there's a thread in the SOTS forum that mentions doing it that way, and 1 user had all their music once the game transferred over.

I'd say wait to do anything with 20 until you're sure it fully transferred over...hope it works for you.

So I played a spring training game on s as ps5. My catcher was not giving me locations. I have api on. Anyone know what happened?

I have it set to on. It’s weird because normally you would see the catcher put his fingers down and also there would be a little glove as to where they want the ball to end up but right now it turns away from the catcher you can’t see any signals he puts down on the cut scene so you never know what he wants you to throw or where

Yeah, if you have it set to on and not default then something weird is going on - the suggestions should be showing up regardless of difficulty level when that's set to on. Default makes it do the thing I talked about in the other forum where it only shows up on Vet and below. I'd check what the options are set to in the pause menu mid-game because the only thing I can think of is that you don't have the correct profile loaded. If for whatever reason API is not set to on when you pause mid-game, then you might be choosing the wrong profile at the pre-game controller select screen. If that's not it I don't know what to tell you - I've never heard of a bug like this.

Yes, I understand perfectly what you're saying. You want this to come back, right?:



The pitch highlight is a little hard to see, but that yellow line circles the suggested pitch icon when it's in motion. The glove for the suggested location is quite a bit more obvious.

And the only thing I can offer is what I said in the post above - when you're in a game (not in the main menu), pause it and go to Options > Gameplay > Pitching and see what the API setting is set to. If it's set to On in-game and you aren't seeing the highlighted suggestions, then I unfortunately have no answer for that and cannot help any further. If it's Off or Default when you expected it to be on, then there are a couple of possibilities for it being that way, and both are pretty easily fixed.

This kind of thing happens to people a lot with the multitude of options and settings in this game, and because of its user profile system - that's why I'm so insistent on making sure of what the option is actually set to in-game.

(sorry armor for cluttering the thread, I know this doesn't fit your clean-screen play style, but I'm just trying to help out a little)
