I thought durability was about a combined stamina or of a player is injury prone I’ve always though it should be 2 seperate attributes. So a Stanton is capable of not getting tired for 162 games but not capable of not getting injured for 2 weeks!

Definitely should be separate. Injury attribute should be pretty dynamic in variation. But the fatigue attribute should be fairly similar (except for pitchers) because I feel like most players aren't that much different in that area. There shouldn't be a guy with 90 fatigue rating and a guy with 50 fatigue rating.

I agree they should be separate attributes, but I disagree about having little variance in fatigue. As an ex-athlete, specifically in swimming which has a brutal training regime, you really could see the difference. Some people excelled due to the intensity, others burnt out, and then you had people like one of my best friends, who could handle the regime, but swam his best ever only after he started skipping practices.

I could imagine it would be the same for a fellow day-in, day-out sport.

Interesting take. So you really feel like there are guys that have made it all the way to the pro level that have fatigue issues? I can see guys at the lower levels that never make it that far.....seems like the pros wouldn't have that problem. I'm legitimately asking since my claim to fame is rec league softball, and a life long hobby of rock drumming :-)

I know this should be a question for the main forums, but this is one of the few that I actually check and read pretty frequently so here it goes.

Do you guys think that The Show 21 will release as buggy or with as many issues as 20 did?

That is a question that is simply unanswerable.

Despite the rocky release 20 had...within 6 weeks it was all patched out and the game is simply the best version they have ever released.

One thing SDS has proven time and time again is they support the game well post release. And they do not over patch at all. In fact most of the bugs (at least the ones that were bad) were visual (blue circles!!!! on auto fielding, and many OSD issues with the new score bug) and then the base running debacle when they tried something that simply did not make any sense and then also cannot forget the pitch callout dots showing up even when you had them turned off for clean screen.

Fortunately they fixed everything save for some OSD bugs that are still prevalent on the score bug (lifetime OPS being shown as lifetime batting average and why this could not get fixed in beyond me) and also the annoying bug of after you resign a player to a new extension.....they show them as a FA acquisition in the year you gave them an extension. Immersion takes a slight hit.

Other than those little things 20 is simply divine.

Armor I completely agree about 20. It is definitely the best in the series and I am still playing regularly. I am currently debating on whether or not to finish this season in my franchise, or just wait for 21 and Start Over with hopes of carry over returning.

SDS definitely supports their game and fixes problems fairly quickly. My main worry this year is with them going multiplatform. What sort of bugs will it introduce? Will the Playstation version even be affected. I usually pick the game up on release day but I am tempted to wait a few weeks this time.

Well take this for what it is worth.

Y2Y IMO is turfed and won’t be back for a while of ever. I hope I am wrong and would love to see it return in 2022. But until I get confirmation of it returning I have zero incentive to purchase 21.

                    Several reasons:

                    1. I am fully immersed in several long term franchises
                    2. I absolutely love 20 and am staying on the PS4 for ar least another year (maybe longer) and have amassed what I call a “Nirvana” of incredible rosters to keep me immersed for years and 1000’s of hours.
                    3. I simply do not believe on the PS4 you will see anything that just screams “gotta have it” for franchise players. And I think the same of the PS5 btw. I think there is an incredible amount of haphazard false hope being built up here and get ready for a **** storm in the general forums come April (or even March when things are revealed).

I do think gameplay has a chance to be even better on PS5 and that is great. But it is so good on 17-20 on my Pro I simply have no incentive to go next gen at all. I have literally dozens of great games I have yet to play. So my content library is vast.

But everyone should do what they want. I always believe of your happy that is all that matters.

We are staying right here on 20 for a long time. And BTW I have been immensely enjoying going back and playing 17 and 18 a lot. Not as good gameplay wise as 20 but still excellent and they have certain presentation features and menus and modes (17 more in particular pre Phases and having season mode) that I miss and now enjoy having again.

I think they'd be rare, but yeah I think there would (and are) some guys who have fatigue issue but would still make it to the MLB.

It certainly is a detriment, and like I said I saw many a person just plain burn out of swimming, but you also see people injure out (like me).

The ratio would doubtless be different in baseball, but I wouldn't be shocked if both high fatigue and high injury prone guys exist at the MLB level. Skill and talent can be huge factors in athletics, but mental fortitude can get you through a lot, even the limits of your own body.

Of course I had to find out the hard way that that's not always a good trait to have. I digress though.

Yeah I have basically stop looking for a ps5 at this time. Not having year to year saves is really bumming me out. So there is no reason for me to really move to the ps5 or buy 21 on the ps4. If there was year to year saves I’m sure I would buy 21 on release day like usual just because I’m sure the gameplay will be just little bit better like every year.

Like you Armor I having a blast in my Braves carry over and also am through April already. I love the team I have and 20 is so damn good.

Without year to year saves the show is no longer a day one purchase for this old dog who loves his carry over franchise. When I get a ps5 and buy the show I probably will stick with that game and play it for multiple years. So I may wait for 22 so they can work the bugs out this year on the ps5

I am loving my Braves franchise right now. At the trade deadline and the Braves have a 2 game lead ahead of the Nationals. Freeman is having a monster year after having a slow start where he only had 3 HR in April. He is now 2nd in the league in HR with 34 and leads the NL in RBI's at 95. Riley is finally coming around after his batting average was stuck in the .190's. He is now hitting .240 after having a great 3 weeks.

I wish they would have really worked on the moral and feedback of the players like NBA 2K21. For example, when I called up Ian Anderson from the minors to majors he was unhappy because he didn't like the coaching staff. I went through and called up a rookie pitcher for the Indians that was raking in AAA and he is not happy because he is playing away from home. Now in my opinion, any rookie getting called up to the MLB for the first time, should be ESTATIC. You think a rookie making his MLB debut is thinking...oh I wish I was playing closer to home? He was also mad about his salary too. It be nice if they would work on stuff like that.

Agree 100% great ideas, poor implementation and they never ever worked on them after they added it.

But.....as long as the ratings don’t really take a hit....I live with it.

Sorry to bug you again Armour, as you have already answered this several pages back (but I can’t seem to find it).

Your talk of playing classic rosters has got me interested in doing the same. I’m wanting to play a Yankees season with A-Rod. I’m thinking of 2004 so I can re-write the history books and not let the Red Sox come back from 3-0 to beat the Yankees in the ALCS

You mentioned re-installing 2017. Which roster should I use if I did that? Is there a good roster for the 2005 (or 2004) on the 2020 game? What are your slider changes to play an older season (either on 2017 or 2020)? Do you use these rosters “as is” or do you have to go through each roster and make a few tweaks? Do you play with injuries off?

                              Thanks
