Continuing on the pitching strategy....I agree pitching is amazing in this game once you get the hang of it, and know your pitchers and release point timing. I struck out Goldschimdt looking (up and in) last night on 8 pitches, and it actually felt better then hitting a 3-run tater.

fielder speed and reaction at 4 is perfect also....seen some spectacular plays at this setting.

Yeah, while I struggle often offensively, I've never had a problem getting strikeouts as a pitcher. I currently lead the league in strikeouts through 6 games. (Small sample size, I know, but the ability to get K's are definitely there)

EDIT: As an addenum, I will say that due to not being very comfortable with the PS4 controller and how it moves (the show is the only game I play on PS4 and I haven't played it that often really), I do use "Classic On" to help see where I'm aiming my pitch instead of full clean screen. This is just due to a lack of comfort and skill in this area.

Yes, if your pitchers miss their spots more than normal or if that pitch is getting hit hard, the pitch confidence is low. If they are hitting their spots and are inducing swings and misses, the pitch confidence is high.

What a game! 2 run homer from Stanton in the bottom of the 8th, and a walk off grand slam by Hicks in the 9th.

Side note: Score should be 6-2. Not sure why Hicks didn’t get credit for another RBI.

One more thing I wanted to add.

Just because your pitcher has a pitch doesnt mean it's a good pitch.

For example Clayton Kershaw technically does have a change up. However I doubt you ever see it in game because as good as he is that pitch for him is absolutely trash.

Just because its a good pitch for the situation, and your guy has it. Doesnt mean it's a good pitch for them.

Having the ball marker on makes it extremely advantageous as a pitcher. It's hard to compare to those that don't use it.

I think u got it spot on with the suggestion for timing at 4 . I've been on power at 4 for a while now and solid hits at 4 since day 1 and now 6 games with timing at 4 and the games are finally fun , realistic and challenging again . I still think that pitchers just hang meatballs right down the middle far too often and pitcher consistency and control can be moved up by 1 or 2 , but for now I'm gonna just leave it and see what kind of results I keep getting . But overall so far it's been great

Oh yeah, I'm not saying it isn't But strikeouts are 100% possible. Just trying to get used to where it vibrates and what not since I don't play the game enough atm.

First inside the park home run in this years game for me. Happ went down early with an injury so it was a bullpen game from the 1st.

Finally having great and realistic games again. So i have now played 6 games with the timing at 4 , power 4 and solid hits at 4 and it really is better . In these 6 games i have hit only 4 home runs and thats a big improvement for me. 2 of those 4 home runs hit in 6 games come in this fun game hosting the O's , and i also managed to hit my very first Grand Slam in the Show 20 and it also comes in the very 1st inning . Right down the middle as usual lol

I’ve got user power, solid hits and foul frequency down at 4 and I’ve put CPU pitcher consistency up to 6 to make them a bit more accurate with their pitches.

I’ve found the CPU give me a great challenge with everything on default for them but foul frequency down on 4. I’ve got my pitching control at 4 and consistency at 6 and I’m seeing a nice balance of walks and strikeouts.

As mentioned before, this game is so well balanced in terms of pitching and CPU hitting AI. Played a game against the Indians as the White Sox earlier and hung a couple of pitches to Lindor. He punished me with a HR in the first inning to lead off the game for them and slapped a line drive straight at my LF which I got away with.

Had a great battle with Franmil Reyes as well. Kept pitching him down and away but he laid off until the count was 3-2. Knowing his power, I wanted to stay away from anything up in the zone. Tried to sneak a high 4 seamer past him and I left it too far over the plate and he crushed it to CF.

I feel like these sliders provide such a challenge to the point where I’m celebrating strikeouts of big bats in the lineup, manufacturing double plays by walking dangerous hitters knowing a slow catcher is due up next and attacking 7/8/9 hitters early in the count.

I’ve obviously adjusted them slightly to match my own skill set but this base will be a perfect place to start.

I tested sliders using analog pitching in 19 and to make it challenging enough I had to knock control and consistency down to 2 also. But in doing so I noticed a different feel in gameplay which was less organic for me and more "stat chasing". It definitely impacted the game in ways which felt unnatural for me.

For those of you that don’t like classic pitching, but still want ratings to matter, try pulse pitching.

It is a good balance of having some control but having the outcome still determined by the dice roll.

Good stuff. Are you seeing the occasional home run with lower power players on missed pitches (both Human and CPU)? This used to be an issue on HOF when lowering some sliders below default....esp power and timing.

I had Harrison Bader, Yadier Molina and Dexter Fowler all crush one against me yesterday. In a small sample size for myself I can’t recall any real low power guys hit many but I’m gonna keep track of it. The CPU side I’m happy though.

My question is what does everyone feel about Cpu stamina for starter & Reliever at 6??? is it necessary to get the Cpu starter life like innings?

Cpu manager hook at 6 ? needed to get poor Cpu pitching pulled sooner ?

What are everyone's thoughts on this?

I'm using Cpu pitch control at 6..
