Doesn’t seem automatic to me. I’ve tried it a few times as it didn’t seem to have any effect.

I use it now just to add to the gamesmanship of the simulation. It worked for a ground out the first time I tried it.

I have done that about 6 times. I had 3 swings and misses, 1 strike 3 call, and 2 foul balls.

The game is playing amazing right now. I switched my pitching cam to one of the catcher views, because I really feel I can pin point exactly where I'm aiming the pitch this way since the strike zone is bigger. If my pitcher misses the spot , so be it. But at least I aimed exactly where I wanted to aim.

Haha def not automatic, but I do get more K's than anything else afterwards. It will kill that crazy foul off momentum that happens occasionally tho.

Yes to all these things.

But you get no notifications from the other 29 teams. You need to simply check the “Transactions” tile and you can read about all the call ups and send downs, trades, injuries etc.

The only thing I have on manual on my “CPU” profile is lineups.

Okay, just want to make sure I don’t do something wrong. Playing my Reds franchise (30-team control - everything for cpu controlled teams is on auto except for lineups/rotations)

Phillies lose their 4th starter for 2-3 months. Currently that rotation spot is empty, will the cpu fill that spot by calling someone up or do I need to do something?

Also, Miami lose their starting catcher for 1-2 months. I went in and put their backup catcher into the lineup but they don’t have a 2nd catcher on the MLB roster. Will the cpu fill that spot or do I have to do it?

Lastly, Miami claimed Brian Johnson from the Red Sox (I waived him when I was setting up all the teams so I could move Sale from A to MLB. Johnson was added to the 40-man roster and put into A. Will the cpu move him to MLB when they see fit or would I have to do it if I thought he was better than one of their current relievers?

If lineups are set to manual, you'll be prompted to make a lineup change.

I would suggest filling that roster spot yourself, making sure Miami has 2 catchers

The CPU will do all of it. Whether you like what they do is for your interpretation.

I typically browse every teams roster once a week to inspect what I expect. If I see something really stupid (carrying 3 catchers or more for example) I correct it. If I see a short reliever in the rotation, I fix it.

You will be prompted with “miami does not have a valid lineup”

You can auto fix it and inspect it later or go and handle it.

I typically handle it for MLB teams not MILB teams.

The CPU will do all of it. Whether you like what they do is for your interpretation.

Ok thanks. I see there is an option to put “injury management” to MLB only. Have you considered doing that or is the cpu pretty “reasonable” when it comes to calling up players? I’m assuming I would still have to adjust lineups once they bring someone up?

In my franchise Cubs lost Heyward, so I brought a guy up to replace him as I thought I had to. The next day the CPU brought a different guy up and dropped a pitcher. So I had to go in and put the guy I brought up back to AAA and bring back the pitcher. It seemed likes the CPU doesn’t make the change until a day after the injury.

One thing I've noticed so far, especially for those who feel they're hitting too many HRs, are they playing w/ power hitting teams?

In my Phillies franchise, about 35 games in(All played), I'm currently ranked 14th in HRs. The Yankees? Yea ranked #1 with already 70 HRs, at least 10 more than the #2 ranked team.

Feel like you just have to expect it. Think it has way more to do with the team you're using and what team you're going against.

My win streak was snapped at 8 games..just when i thought hall of fame was too easy ive lost 2 in a row against the Pirates of all teams and cant hit a lick all of a sudden...love this game!

I'm having serious trouble pitching well with my relievers specifically, anyone else? Chapman, Ottavino, Britton, Kahnle are all getting absolutely shelled in spring training. Can't locate anything and way too many pitches ending up right over the middle of the plate or a foot outside the zone. Lots of walks and lots of hard contact.

By the way, how the hell is Zack Britton, with a 1.91 ERA last year, just a 79 overall? I could easily see him in the 82-84 range.

2 minutes after I type this Ottavino gives up a 2 run bomb on a 2-seamer that just stayed in the middle of the plate. Getting ridiculous honestly.

Don't fall the way of people fooled or hung up on overalls. They really don't mean much.

Armor, I see you set fielder reaction to 4. I feel like my fielders play without a sense of urgency.

I’m playing with the Blue Jays and I understand their fielding is not the best but is reaction the only slider I can adjust to compensate for this lack of urgency.

Fielder run speed perhaps.

Urgency is the one aspect of auto fielding that I feel is still missing from the show.
