HUM/CPU Solid Hits now at 4

Version 3.0 is being tested (HUM and CPU Pitch Consistency to 6 is what we are getting a real feel for).
Thanks for the update. Played one game with all the testing changes and for the first time, I struck out the cpu 11 times! Granted it was the mariners but still it was nice to see.

Lost 4-2. I was the royals. 5 hits each team. 4 doubles and one homer run. 6 total walks.

So far I’m really liking the changes. Going to play a few more games with the Consistency to make sure pitching isn’t too over powered.

I thought the hit variety was good at default for a long while as well. It's better than most years but once you flip the switch and drop it to 4, it's like "Oh crap, what was I thinking leaving it at default so long?".
The main thing it did for me was to take that “ho-hum” feeling away when I hit a homerun. It feels much more rewarding when I hit one now

Having said that, I just (re)started my Reds franchise and am currently playing my season opener against the Cards. Both Flaherty and Gray struggled through a scoreless 1st inning as both threw 20+ pitches.

Then the Reds EXPLODED in the bottom of the 2nd sending 10 hitters to the plate, scoring 6 runs and chasing Flaherty out of the game. Winker hit a 398 ft solo shot to open the scoring. Akiyama hit the most amazing bloop single I have ever experienced to load the bases. Votto came through with a solid rbi single on a 3-2 count to make it 2-0. Then Suarez unloads a 426 ft grand salami! Kim came in and walked Moustakas and Castellanos followed with a chopper down the 3rd baseline for an infield single. The next 2 hitters went out to end the inning. Heading into the 3rd inning now.

I have pitch speed at 8/7 so thought that might be the culprit to my big inning. However I checked the analysis and I’ve only swung at 11 fastballs - resulting in only 1 hit (a single in the 1st inning). I’ve been late on 7 of the 11 fastballs and early or neutral on 4 - so it doesn’t appear that my pitch speed at 8/7 is too easy. My homers came on a curveball and a slider. It just seems the Reds got hot

Well, now to see if I can hang on to my 6-0 lead!!!

So no more testing of starter stamina at 6? The straw that broke the camel’s back for me was when a pitcher was beating me 3-0 after 4. He comes to bat in the top of the 5th and then doesn’t pitch in the bottom of the 5th. That wouldn’t happen

Yeah, I played a game last night with timing at 4 and was swinging and missing at a lot of pitches over the plate. I think I’m going to bump it back to 5 and drop solid hits down to 4 for both user and CPU.

Afternoon guys, long time lurker here. Armor, this gets said all the time but I couldn't play these games year in and year out without your sliders, so thank you.

I've got a question regarding player stamina/durability. I'm playing a Blue Jays franchise with Ridin's roster and I'm noticing that I'm having to give quite a few players days off early. I'm also having to rotate the DH every game just to keep regulars in the lineup. So far I've played 7 games and already had to give Bichette, Guerrero and Grichuk a day off. They've also had to DH to remain in the lineup before this.

Anyone else experiencing anything like this, or is this normal?

This is normal and nothing has changed. You just need to know who you are going to push hard (injury rating is key) and not rest nearly as often. You also have to strategize your days off depending on the schedule, the importance of the series your in...the pitcher your facing, and training. Lower durability guys....train them to improve their injury rating.

@Burgess - testing starer stamina at 6 as well. Stay tuned.

HOLY CRAP what a finish ! Just another excellent tight game that came down to the wire and it just does not get anymore dramatic than this . We took the lead in the 8th with a bomb and Giles comes in to close out the game and the former Blue Jay Billy Mckinney who i just traded days before steps up to the plate in his 1st game back since being traded and takes the league leader in saves Ken Giles deep to tie it up in heartbreaking fashion . Clearly Billy has something to prove and lets us all know we made the wrong decision in letting him go . How cruel and awesome lol And just have a look at how this ended , MAN I LOVE THIS GAME .

I’m keeping all the changes.. Pitcher consistency at 6, stamina at 6 and solid hits at 4 along with my own personal preference of 7-8 pitch speeds for the little extra challenge. The games I’m getting are great and it’s no longer a home run fest. I’ve seen so many doubles and triples the last three games. Beautiful thing to see.

Starting pitcher stamina at 6 is a must for me now. Gives my starter that extra 10 pitches he might need to get out of an inning or finish out a gem.

Solid hits at 4 definitely feels better though. Seeing hits and drives wasn't seeing at 5. Also hitting a HR feels more earned when it happens.

1 game so far with your 3.0 testing version, not sure on HUM pitch consistently to 6 yet but liking the feel of CPU pitch consistency 6.

Game was Yankees vs Reds (CPU). Paxton vs Gray. 5.0 IP 3 ER for Gray and 5 IP 1 ER for Paxton. Solid hits to 4 for both is playing really well. 2 solo HR’s with Judge, 1 solo HR to opposite field for Sanchez. 1 Solo HR with Ford. For the Reds Suarez had a solo HR and nearly had two but it died at the wall in death valley. They had chances off Paxton but couldn’t get the big hit.
Probably worth adding that the wind was blowing straight out to CF hard and one was into the short porch, so that helped increase the power a bit.

*I post these a few different places but like to post them here as well so people can see stats/my franchise using these sliders. However, Armor, if you'd prefer this post not be littered with my franchise updates just let me know."

SAN DIEGO (OS) -- The Chicago Cubs jumped out to an early lead as Kris Bryant and Javier Baez led off the game with back-to-back home runs off of Padres starter Chris Paddack. The Padres answered with a run of their own in the bottom of the first and Eric Hosmer's two-out RBI single in the bottom of the fifth evened the game at 2-2. But the Cubs were able to push across a pair of runs in the top of the eighth and the bullpen held on for a hard-fought victory over the Padres at Petco Park Saturday night for their second consecutive win.

Jon Lester was solid through six innings, allowing just two runs on three hits, but earned the no-decision. Tyler Olson improved to 2-4 on the year after a scoreless sixth and Craig Kimbrel shut the door in the ninth to earn his second save in as many nights, and his eighth on the year.

The two consecutive victories come after the Cubs had dropped five straight and seven of eight dating back to the May 6th loss against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Cubs manager David Ross is hoping the recent momentum will help propel the Cubs on their nearly two week road trip. "We've played well the last couple games and you just have to focus on what you're doing right and continue them game-to-game," said Ross. "The season is a marathon and you can't hang your head when you hit a losing streak. This team is resilient and they showed that the last two games."

The Cubs will look to take three of four from the Padres tomorrow afternoon as they wrap up the series before a day off Monday. Kyle Hendricks (5-2, 3.67) will take the mound for the Cubs opposite Dinelson Lament (1-3, 5.76).

Keep with it buddy. I just let up 9 runs and 12 hits against the Mariners lol. I’m also walking slot more guys for some reason. Probably because those full counts, my pitch isn’t drifting back into the middle of the plate.

I really like the move to 6 on pitch consistency, I’ve been using that for a while. I am playing with timing at 4 rather than solid bits though. I feel like these are close to the same thing, though, since lowering timing to 4 will inadvertently lower solid hits.
