Okay I need some help. I went to PlayStation settings and found automatic updates and turned them off. But I don’t think that did it cause when I turned the game on it started to download. I clicked on start application without updating. So as I was playing, it popped up that the update is ready to install. How do I NOT install it the next time I turn the game on? Or is it stuck now?

Basically you have to disconnect from the internet to stop it updating. If you are connected it will prompt you to update it. You will need to stop it manually everytime.

Had this issue with madden a couple years ago.

Thanks. I disconnected from the internet. It looks like it might have downloaded but not installed. It won’t install without internet correct?

Turning-off auto update keeps games from updating in the background.

However, each time the game starts, the download will re-start. You will need to cancel the update and delete it before it installs.

The only way to avoid auto-downloading when starting the game is to disconnect your PS4 from the internet (just click the toggle in the network sub-menu). Then you can start up the game.

Once you're done with your session, shut off the program and you can re-enable the network (if you have auto-update off, it will not re-initiate the download). But, each time you start the game, you will have to disable the network.

I've done this a number of times over the years for Madden....and it works....annoying, but it works.

Wow, what is SDS doing? Fix one thing break another with each update. This is not like them.

I reported the blue circles bug again and the new base runner window bug. Hopefully both are fixed soon.

Nope. Stayed at the pitching settings and sliders in the OP. I have no problem being in between 2 different levels if they match up to my playing style/skill and give me believable statistics. On Legend pitching, it was VERY difficult to get the CPU to chase out of the zone. It would almost never happen. I would maybe tack up 3-4 k’s per game. Besides that, I don’t think HOF and Legend pitching are too different. You’ll still get knocked around on HOF if you’re throwing meatballs.

Ok, thanks. I’m going to try HOF hitting with pitch speeds at 8/7 and see what results I get. I have a Reds franchise and a Yankees franchise so I know that I will score lots of runs and be at the top or near the top of the league in homers (wouldn’t be realistic if I wasn’t). But my 1st game in my Reds franchise against the Cards I scored 5 runs in the 1st, 3 runs in the 2nd, 4 runs in the 4th and won16-3 (And walked 9 times). In the 2nd game the Cards scored 3 runs in the 1st. Then I hit solo homers in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd and was down 4-3 going into the bottom of the 4th. Votto hits a 3-run homer, followed by a solo homer from Suarez. Moustakakas walks and then Castellanos hits a 2-run homer. Now I’m up 9-4 with none out in the 4th (also had 5 walks in the game) I quick simmed to the end of the game. Replayed the game at 8/7 and was losing 3-2 after 5. Had hit one homer, walked only once and had struck out 4 times. Seemed much better. Really had to pay attention. If I wasn’t sitting on a fastball I would get blown away. If I was sitting on a fastball and got offspeed I would look rather silly. Just seemed more “real”

Yeah it isn't the runner windows...it is the runner diamond in the top right corner which shows how the CPU is advancing or not.

Without that you simply cannot know where to throw the ball on auto fielding and manual throwing.

I play with the baserunner windows off all the time....I do not need those. What I do need is to know WTF the CPU baserunners are doing while the ball is in play when making throwing decisions.

Again they wired the entire thing.....all wrong. They are aware of it....believe me. They know loud and clear what is up and about the blue freaking circle of death under the fielders on auto fielding...another mind boggling bug presented on 1.05.

Auto/Auto is the only way to play with a clean screen like we are all used to until this stuff is fixed (blue circles still there though.....that is another bug we are waiting for fix on).

Tried out Legend using your suggestions. I think anyone looking for a more challenging set should make these tweaks and move up to Legend. On HOF, I wasn’t getting realistic statistic totals through months of playing. With my Phillies, Harper had nearly 20 HR through April. I couldn’t play like that. Since restarting with the Yankees and moving up to Legend, for me, the game plays and feels much more realistic...

Yeah for the guys who are just hitting better in this game on HOF for whatever reason should just make the bump to legend and try it out . These are pretty tough and off course adjust what u want , I'm having some really fun and amazing games again . On HOF hitting with this version of the Show nearly each game was just a slug fest for me with double digit hits and 2 - 3 homers a game was the norm . And I really don't want to derail or hijack this amazing thread and confuse people , but I know there's a few people that have experienced the same problem as me and I just simply wanted to share this so we can all enjoy this game again as much as the Show 19 on HOF .

I am trying the pitch speeds at 7/6 and I just can’t keep up with a 94 mph fastball. But i feel like I take too much at 6/5. Would 6/4 work? Or is that going to screw it up more?

I'm starting to get better results as well, but I had to move up yet another level to 9/8 as I was still mashing fastballs on 8/7.

Hitting is finally starting to feel like the challenge it's supposed to be.

I'm gonna repeat the advice that pitch speed should be the first place to look if you're finding hitting to be too easy.

I'm in the same boat on 7/6...trust me, keep practicing there. Like real life, you shouldn't be able to sit offspeed and still be able to catch up to a high-velo FB if you guess wrong. It sounds to me like 7/6 is the perfect spot for you where you will be challenged.

Now you (like me) need to get better at sitting on fastballs and swinging accordingly. It's not hard to catch up to...but you have to be expecting it and HAVE to be looking for that pitch in that location.

No doubt. The smoothest experience you will see is auto/auto. I just have always loved controlling the throwing to feel part of the action on defense.

But we will need to adjust here temporarily (hopefully temporary).

I have taken a much needed deep breath. I got really hot and too emotional. Which is highly out of character for me on these boards.

Streams? Different story lol.

But here....I always stay calm and cool. This just really pushed the wrong button. Two straight weeks of new game alternating changes broke the straw on my back. But......we have calmed down.

Again I suggest to everyone simply go Auto/Auto for now and let’s wait for the fixes.

I am sure we will get them.
