Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider

I have never had this problem before. I was looking at the box score at the end of the game and I lost 5-2. Urias gave up 4 runs and Stripling gave up 1 run. But the box score only said Urias gave up 3 runs. 3 R and 3 ER. I first thought maybe one of the runs were unearned somehow. He gave up a ground rule 2 RBI double and a 2 RBI single. It is minor but it saves him his ERA. Never noticed that before.

And I noticed that the game doesn’t count sacrifices all the time. Pitcher would bunt and move the runner up and sometimes it would count for a sacrifice and sometimes it doesn’t. So he is charged for an AB.

I will file a bug report on this but I don’t know if it will be fixed or not.

If so.....I do not advise a third consecutive night of usage. You are begging for trouble. In the post season bullpen management is critical.

      - Early in the count I am pounding the zone to get ahead. Especially with my better pitchers. Then we paint. Sometimes I get hammered for challenging guys....that’s baseball. Throw strikes to get ahead....throw pitches out of the zone to get hitters out. I can’t stand when a Random Dice Result get’s me missing over the heart of the plate on 0-2, 1-2.....and they blast a ball on me.....oh my my skin curls. But again.....that’s baseball. And thats why I love Classic pitching. It gives that random dice result like playing table top Strato-Matic or Statis Pro Baseball. Sometimes pitchers miss their spots and MLB hitters can make you pay dearly for that. Also having a great pulse on the kind of stuff your pitcher has that night is key to success. Know early what pitches he has working good or not. That can dictate your pitch sequencing far better. Awareness is key.

      Answers in bold.
I started using the warmup pitcher option a few games ago. I did as you suggest and move my relievers to ready and waiting when they are between 1/2 and 3/4 warm. When I go back to the bullpen they have a full “ready bar” and he has a full red circle before I throw any pitches. Is that right?

Its games like this tha make me put the game away for a day

Up 6-5 bottom of the 9th. Bring in the closer.

1st batter hits a slow 32 hopper up the middle for a single.

2nd batter hits a chopper between pitcher and SS, no man's land, throw to first not in time.

3rd batter walks on 5 pitches as the 4th and 5th pitches I throw in the center of the zone goes wide by a mile.

4th batter hits a grounder right at the 3B that he misplays and it goes in to LF.

        I lose.

I'll be back at it tonight. Gotta shake that off but man that one hurt.

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider

I’m by no means an expert base stealer but I know that there’s been some discussion on it being especially difficult this year. However, I might have sort of figured something out that I’ve been doing wrong all along. We all know we can hit L2 to initiate an automatic steal. But as we all know, the jumps are usually horrendous. We can also hold L2 until a rumble and then release when we want to go. The problem seems to be that even when we use the, “manual,” steal, the jumps are still not good. But... I just stole second and then third with Javier Baez. It was awesome. It may be dumb luck but here’s my thoughts...

1.) People may already be doing this, but when you manually steal just hold L2 once and release when you want to go. Before I was pressing L2 once to initiate the steal AND then holding it down a second time and releasing to steal, “manually.” Again, this might make no difference, but it might.

2.) More importantly, I have noticed that to get that perfect jump you have to try to time it literally at the same time as the pitcher going to the plate. Almost a little before. If you wait until the pitcher’s stride foot it up a foot or so it’s too late and you’ll probably have what seems to be a not-so-responsive, bad jump. I have been trying to do this to the point where I am willing to risk breaking too early and getting picked off.

3.) Obviously always slide head first and up and to the right on the analog stick.

I’ve never stolen third base until I did it with Baez and it wasn’t even remotely close and was against JT Realmuto. So moral of the story here is, it’s all in the timing. It’s tricky but when I’ve stolen a base it’s been rewarding.

I went back to simply manual stealing and doing just that timing my jump right before the pitcher lifts his foot. Stole with ease as I should with Trea Turner (most of the time).

It really comes down to timing the release of L2. Gotta be able to anticipate the pitcher going home before they actually lift the foot up.

I just made Jacob deGrom throw 86 pitches in 3 innings. Felt good.

EDIT: Make that 99 pitches in 4 innings. Scored 3 runs off him but he still struck me out 9 times.

Armour, further thoughts on manager’s hook at 4? Is it possible to move it to 4 and leaving it as opposed to changing from 4 to 5 for relievers?

Anyone know how to get more sponsorships for franchise? Does is come down to just playing a lot of games and throughout the duration of the season you’ll get more options?

What's everyone playing hitting sliders at for the best variety of hits? Contact, power, and solid hits for human/cpu at 4 or the original post 5 for two and 4 solid hits.

Also is 7 stamina for both human and cpu?

In Armour I trust!! Only difference is I’m at pitch speed 9/8.

You can go to the market and buy some with your stubs that you earn. That is what I did since I don’t do DD or anything. You can buy all of them or what you want to use.

I'm 7-6 with the Angels in my 30 team franchise. In those 13 games I have hit 28 HRs and given up 31. Their lineup is stout and their pitching is pretty terrible but I still think that is too many HRs.

Should I bump HUM/CPU power to 4? Or I was even thinking 3. What are your HR numbers for those who have gone down to 4?
