For the first time all season I have a 3 game losing streak. I can tell my offense is getting cold after being smoking hot for 2 months.

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider

What an awesome game I just had against the Cubs to finish the 3 game series. The Phillies got the win in extra innings (14th inning) to salvage a game in the series.

Even though I got the win, my offense is definitely cooling off. You all have seen the stuff I have posted throughout my season so far. This game was the complete opposite of the majority of my games. I had that 21-15 loss to the Rockies a few weeks back and this game was SCORELESS going into the bottom of the 14th.

Zack Wheeler pitched for the Phillies going 7 innings, 5 hits, 0 ER, 1 walk, and 8 K's.

Kyle Hendricks pitched for the Cubs. I never hit him very well. Hendricks went 7 innings, 2 hits, 0 ER, 0 walks, and 9 K's.

I only had 3 hits entering the bottom of the 14th. Josh Harrison led off the inning after entering the game on a double switch. He worked an 11 pitch at-bat to draw a walk. Scott Kingery was next and smoked the first pitch he saw for a 2-run walk-off home run!

The win was awesome but it doesn't change the fact that in the last 2 games spanning 23 innings, the Phillies have a total of 7 hits combined in the 2 games. We've also struck out 22 times and only walked 4 times. We are 6-4 in our last 10 games. I'm definitely not seeing the ball as well right now and my timing is definitely off. Amazing how fast things can change for you in this game.

We are 46-21 on the season with a 3.5 game lead over the 2nd place Braves in the NL East. Thankfully we have an off day before our next series with the A's so that bullpen can get a rest after pitching 7 innings in that last game. We also lost David Robertson for 1-2 weeks with an injury so we will call up a replacement from Triple-A.

I just had one hell of a come-from-behind victory against the A's in the first game of a 3-game series.

We entered the 9th inning down 5-4. Liam Hendriks on the mound to close it out for the A's. Jay Bruce led off the inning as a pinch hitter. I worked the count to 3-2 and then deposited the full count pitch onto Ashburn Alley in CF for a game tying home run!

Scott Kingery was next and worked a walk, Jean Segura walked, then Hendriks walked Bryce Harper to load the bases with nobody out. J.T. Realmuto stepped up but ended up striking out. That set the stage for Didi Gregorius who sent the first pitch he saw into the right field seats for a walk-off Grand Slam and the 9-5 victory!

What a win! We've been scuffling a bit lately so this could be the boost we needed.

How well are you doing with Hoskins? I don't know what it is, but in the '21 season I'm on a tear with him. Batting .277 with 19(1st) HRs and 48(1st) RBIs at almost the end of May. Like I've finally got everything clicking with him.

Bohm on the other hand, abysmal .208 Avg, but he does have 8 HRs. It's going to be a hard push to get him to be Rookie of the Year.

Sub-par with Hoskins. Hitting something like .217 with like 18 homers. Something like that. Leads NL in strikeouts.

I think I finally got used to his stance and swing, that's why I'm doing better this season. He is my favorite to hit a HR with, even the HR Cam he has.

Now I have the same problem with Bohm. I can hit almost every ball with him, but they're almost always line outs or dribblers to 3rd base. I'd feel like it's cheating if I changed his stance.

Its not cheating, its called adjustment lots of batters do it. Zimmer for the Indians changed his stance this year to help keep his hands in. Not to mention, its your franchise and your world. Make the adjustment if it will help him hit better.

I’ve done this with several players in the fictional rosters I’m using. Some guys I couldn’t figure out their timing until I changed their stance/swing.

This is why these sliders are the best!

I want to do this with Joe Morgan in my 80's franchise because of my struggle with it. But his stance is practically iconic. Can't do it. For other players I think this is a pretty cool idea which can add to immersion.

This great game of baseball can be so nuanced at times and the Show can certainly simulate it.
My number 3 hitter, Eric Davis is riding an 8 game hit streak to open the season. While on this streak he has not driven in a single run. Crazy. I love baseball.

And with fictional rosters it’s not like you’re changing an actual real life player so there isn’t that “is this cheating?” feeling to it. Same with editing a player’s appearance. I’ve put long hair and beards on a few of the bald, clean shaven guys on my team.

Suffered a big injury in my Phillies Franchise. Just lost Scott Kingery for 2-3 months with a torn finger ligament. He suffered the injury sliding into second base on a bloop hit by Jean Segura. He was placed on the 60-day IL.

Shame too. Kingery was having a great year hitting .303 with 18 home runs, 20 doubles, 4 triples, and 50 RBI. This creates an opportunity for the Phillies top hitting prospect Alec Bohm now. Bohm will be called up to man 3rd base with Jean Segura shifting over to 2nd base.

Bohm is hitting .263 with 8 home runs and 28 RBI in Triple-A.

More help will be on the way as well with Andrew McCutchen due to be activated from the IL in 5 days. He has been out with a broken shin since mid-April.
