Steelers so here is what I do.

Before July 31st I go to each team and look at their top 3 players up for an extension that are not arbitration eligible and not a renewable contract.

I use a random number generator:

0-33 I extend them to the max green contract demands they have in years in dollars.

    34-100 whatever happens…..happens.

I only do this mid season every year.

    Works nicely.

I like this a lot as the cpu doesn’t resign players in season. It’s unfair that we can resign players mid season. Once again great idea, keeping 20 the GOAT alive.

A few weeks ago I posted about how challenging it is to play a franchise as the Pittsburgh Pirates. It takes a TON of patience. I was seriously considering scrapping it and starting over as a different team. Well, I decided to stick with it and I'm glad I did. I'm exactly at the halfway point of season 1. After 81 games we are in last place in the division with a record of 36-45, but we're actually doing better than I anticipated. Most games are close and competitive. I have some cool storylines going with some young players and young bullpen arms. I'm very happy with the draft. I'm very excited about 2 of the pitchers I drafted and super stoked about the second baseman I selected in the first round. Based on his attributes we might try him in the outfield, but time will tell...

So.... to anyone out there who gets frustrated playing as a team that needs rebuilding.... STICK WITH IT. It's gruelling, but very rewarding to watch the process unfold. I look forward to playing SEVERAL seasons with this franchise using these great sliders....

I can only imagine how great it's gonna feel when everything starts coming together and you start to compete for a playoff spot. It makes the whole process worth it.

If you want to play every game then Quick Counts can cut down on the game time significantly. You can also change your presentation style to Hybrid or even Quick and save some more time. Even just using Quick Counts with Broadcast presentation can get you 2 or 3 games in the time that it takes to play 1 playing every pitch.

What I did last year was play game 1 of every series. No quick counts, every pitch. I then simmed the rest of the series games and would hop in whenever a Critical Moment would occur. This allowed me to still have an impact in each series, but also get through a season quicker.

This year I'm just bouncing back and forth between Quick Counts and not when I feel like it. I definitely prefer not playing with it on, but sometimes I want to finish a series in one night and will do Quick Counts. I find myself striking out 2x as much in Quick Counts, though.

Sure agree with everything you said here, especially the high rate of striking out. The randomness to me just has be literally off stride. Plus, and saying it for the millionth time, I hate that counts won't ever start at 0-0, and yeah I know, I've heard the rationale, but I still don't care for it.

I use quick counts just so I can play more games. Having a kid sure makes my time-limited. But I wish they would utilize all count possibilities. Even if they would make an occasional 0-0 count. I swore they used to do 2-0, 3-0, and 0-2 counts but they must have removed them. Now we start with at least 1-1.

Playing using full counts is the only way I can play….but that is me.

Best thing to do is play one game a day and if you want to speed up the game play on Hybrid presentation or skip a lot of the cut scenes (especially the over abundance of pitcher cut scenes). Typically takes me 45 minutes to 60 minutes to finish a 9 inning game on broadcast presentation.

Jacob deGroms Yankee debut vs the Red Sox will be streamed later this afternoon!

And he will have a tall task as we drew dome unfavorable cards using our daily modifier card system (on the OP).

CPU will have +2 power (yikes)
                        Human infield errors +1

So buckle up Jacob…..high expectations in NY!!!

I played two full seasons (every pitch, every game) last year. The key for me was to play when I felt like doing so. I went through stretches for a week where I barely played followed by stretches where I played an obscene number of games (at one point, I finished an entire month in like 9-10 days.

I think the key is to NOT set a "schedule". The minute I felt like I "had" to play a game (to "keep up") was the minute it began to feel like a grind and that's the last thing you want to do.

Ultimately, you have to understand what your personal "goal" is. Mine was to just play every game and have fun with it. I didn't have a set number of seasons I wanted to finish or anything. To me, the journey of playing every game is what makes the mode enjoyable. Simming through games or using other shortcuts is like fast-forwarding through parts of a movie you've never seen. Sure, you may finish it faster, but you miss-out on a ton of the story. Now you may care more about getting through a bunch of seasons, if so, you'll need to adapt how you go about it.
Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.

Thank all of you, this is an amazing community, i cant play in quick counts i dont feel the same "mojo" hitting or pitching, i like to work the counts and know how a pitcher is feeling... an im just thinkin doing what armor said like one game per day, obviously i have a job a school, gym etc, but maybe i need to add discipline to this 162 game journey and have a very early game to begin the days, also i start this with the real life season and im like a month behind lol
