I still don't issue many but definitely feel the difference. The jams I get myself into some innings are intense and make getting those tough outs so much more fun. I won a tough game 4-3 over Dodgers last night with them leaving 16 on base so it was pressure packed lol.

I would be worried if I raised those high I'd strike out so many Iike I was doing beforehand and giving up maybe one walk a game. We all definitely follow all threads as we should. I've gotten different ideas to try from a number of them. I'm just trying to wrap my head around this control/consistency theory being so high when I'm at 0/2 now and finally feeling like I have to work hard to get some guys out.

In all my years of playing this game, I've never had anything set on legend, so I'm reluctant to do so.

Me either. HOF was always pretty good for me for pitching but this year's game is so different from any other year it's weird lol. I feel like where we have it now it feels like HOF did last year. Cpu contact at 3 on legend allows for swing and misses. But they are dangerous still obviously.

When I tried HOF this year I could get the AI to swing and miss at balls outside the zone seemingly anytime I wanted if I had a 2 strike count and it was rarely a challenge I felt anyway. Try legend this year with their contact lowered to 3 and solid hits at 4 which most use anyway. I'm telling you, you'll be very surprised how well it plays out. I still am sometimes lol

Last year, I would have never been even able to sniff much less taste legend pitching. And I believe guys like Armor even said he couldn't do legend on classic pitching. Last year, HOF was even too hard for me with pitching cause I couldn't strike them out. So I was on Allstar+ and loving it. I was actually using Armor's hitting sliders and Josh's pitching sliders.

But this year, I am feeling that Legend is close to what HOF was last year. I have dynamic on and was even getting to Legend+ at times.

I have just been on the mindset that pitching on Classic with Legend is just crazy over the years. I would rather be on HOF just because of the past years where we read how good the game is on HOF and Allstar.

Oh I understand, I'm an older gamer myself lol. MLB 21 is so vastly different than previous years so I had to do something or I was going to become bored with most games I played feeling the same for me anyway.

Hey Rmiok. Long time lurker here. My issue, ironically enough, is exactly what the last few posts are about here. I'm hitting on AS regular and having a blast with that. My offense is definitely on the higher side but I enjoy the game more that way and it's not like I'm #1 ranked in everything. However, I'm pitching on HOF with these sliders. I've won 8 games in a row now and haven't given up more than 3 runs in any of those games. Within that stretch, I shut out the Cubs 3 times in a row. I don't necessarily mind that but do you think it will revert back to the norm? Before the 8 game win streak, I was .500 and middle of the pack as far as pitching. I feel like now whoever I'm pitching with is irrelevant. I'm just wondering everyone's opinions. I play as the Mets and I'm 14-6 now and the Braves are like 16-3, so I do like that I'm not running away with the division because I want it competitive. Would you just leave the slider settings as is and ride it out some more or decrease some HOF sliders on the user side? I'm not comfortable going to Legend yet, I don't think lol.

You might want to try irish slider set, it uses legend pitching with good results so far. I haven't tried it yet but it might be your solution.

Just go to legend. I'm telling ya'll it's a much more realistic game. Started a franchise with Red Sox last night. Gave up a 3 run HR top 1st. Then held them rest of the game, getting out of a few jams along the way. Gave up 7 hits, 11k and 4bb. I won the game 6-3 coming back from an early deficit.

HOF or below IS far too easy this year. Idk what they did to the game but it's literally like you're playing an entirely different game when you jump to legend with your sliders set up correctly. I am not here to gloat or anything, I just want everyone to have a fun realistic challenging game regardless of how you play. Try out mine and bryanm's sliders and I promise you won't regret it. It takes some time to learn how to pitch on legend with them. You can't simply change speeds to get outs. You really have to set up hitters, change eye level and speeds to get outs. And the beauty of it is you can still get away with bad pitches on legend. They don't crush every mistake pitch you make like you would assume.

If you wanna watch the gameplay go watch the game on my channel. Red Sox vs Orioles game 1...

Right now we are testing all star difficulty with the same sliders. All star plus is getting a bit rough for me, which I actually can’t believe. Lol.

I’ve had less than 5 hits like 6 games in a row.

I’m testing on all star. This set will basically be all star and all star + for hitting. Just pick what suits you best. If you like it now, then don’t change anything!

I’ve been having the same problem.

Last year’s game was so good that I just don’t understand how they gave us... whatever this is. [emoji20]

Yeah it's only pitching I'm talking about for legend. Hitting is fine for sure. I would recommend to lower Foul frequency to 0 for user and cpu though to see a lot better hit variety.

Edit- And cpu contact at 3 for legend is a must if you don't want to get killed every game. This is what will allow you to still get away with mistake pitches sometimes, and still see swing and misses with balls in the zone.

Yeah, I think maybe I will then, wow. I absolutely loved how this year, on HOF, I could strike guys out. I couldn't do that last year. But now it's worn out it's welcome, as they clearly have changed some things because my bottom of rotation guys actually have better ERA's than DeGrom, lol. It got way too easy. I don't know when I'll get to play next but I think I'll make the jump.

Edit: I just checked your sliders. Man, you're playing with Hum control/consistency 2/0. That seems tough! And you would recommend changing the sliders to that immediately, with the accompanying CPU hitting sliders with the jump to legend? Not leaving the sliders as it is set up in this thread, correct?

I would 100% recommend all human pitching sliders and cpu hitting sliders exactly the way we have them. The 2/0 is so you actually issue walks. I still don't issue many. And with cpu contact at 3 it balances out. You can locate your pitches fine once your pitcher settles into a nice groove. And you'll still have dominate performances. I held the Reds to two hits for a whole game with how it's set up now. But like I said, there is a small learning curve on how to pitch on legend and not get destroyed. You can't just pitch fast without thinking like you can on HOF.

The only difference in difficulty is the PCI increases, not the AI's approach at the plate or anything. Give it a series or two and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised how each game is different. At this point believe it or not I am enjoying this game more than MLB 20

I see you’ve already got plenty of answers from Irishsalsa

I’m not going to legend until I try some HOF changes first, personally. I’ve changed user control and consistency from 6/5 to 5/5 so far and I’ve also upped cpu timing from 3 to 4. Obviously it helped a bit.
