Anybody following, everything Is staying the same aside from a couple things.

I’m personally dropping hitting to all star, if you like all star plus..just stay with that.

The other change we’ve made is fielder reaction at 5. Everything else is the same.

The reason for reaction at 5 is we were seeing really weird things. Example: 2 inside the park HRs for the cpu against me after my left fielder made a joke of a jump on the ball. Missed it. Rolled past him all the way to the wall for an inside the park homerun. Two games in a row.

Another thing I saw with it at 4 was routine ground balls to the third baseman and shortstop, they would react very last second.. resulting in some wild dramatic throw and the runner being safe. We like it better at 5

Are you seeing the CPU pitch counts getting too high too early. I just had Trevor Bauer throw 32 pitches in the first inning I had 1 hit and 2 walks.

They’ve seemed normal on my end! On the user end, my pitch counts get pretty high, but that’s because my young Marlins rotation struggles with consistency from time to time.

I’ve updated the OP with something I’ve been toying around with and I’m comfortable enough to post it now. I’m not very good with words so hopefully I can explain my thought process as clearly as possible.

All star plus all the sudden got so difficult for my team to hit. If it wasn’t down the middle of the plate, it wasn’t a hit. If the opposing pitcher painted the corner it was NEVER a hit. That bothered me, and don’t get me wrong..I understand good pitches should be hard to hit. That being said though any contact I made on a “pitchers pitch” was probably an out 29 out of 30 times. So I looked into it a bit. This is what I’ve found:

If you look at the description for pitch control it says this “Suggestion: if you lower the pitchers accuracy, you should lower the hitters contact to compensate”

Now I’m not into “tin hat theories” but this made me think. These are literally the only two sliders in the whole game that SDS suggests go hand in hand. There’s no other sliders where it says that. There has to be a reason why obviously.

So after giving that some thought, I put cpu control on 5 and cpu consistency on 7, and boom. Loved it. The 5/7 combo gave the same cpu accuracy as far as the cpu pitching hitting their spots, without the bizarre weak contact I was getting. I was slapping hits opposite direction again. Low pitches were getting lifted over the infield etc (every low pitch I’d hit previously was a grounder. Literally, every one.)

So yeah, that’s basically it. More hit variety no doubt. It’s clear as day. You’ll still get mistake pitches and walks as well. I changed nothing on the human pitching side because I have no reason to do so.

We actually both tried AS, we both found it to easy. Were both back to AS+ now.

So you’re using All Star for hitting then? It’s not clear on the op.

I think they would work fine with either AS or AS+ that’s why I have it as optional basically, just based on your skill set. I’ve settled back into all star plus though, like Decent said all star was a bit too easy. I’d rather struggle a tad than rake every game.

After reading my write up, and reading the slider descriptions, I’m becoming more and more weary of pitch control ever being above contact for user or cpu. I never buy “theories” but at this point it hardly seems like a theory at all.

It 100% impacts how the hitters are able to square up a pitch.

I 100% agree with this 'take'. It worked beautifully for the arcade-style, HR-derby that was MLBTS20; but for this year's title, it definitely is not the way to go.

Yeah and I really have to stress how “anti tin hat theory” I am. I usually don’t buy into things like this at all. My offense has gone from anemic to just fine. The only thing we changed is cpu control/consistency from 6/5 to 5/7

On the flip side, my pitching staff is obviously doing too good. The numbers back that up in my post a couple above. We’re trying to just match it at this point. Trying out 5 control consistency 7 from a user standpoint.

It’s just so blatantly obvious that control is the culprit, and I wouldn’t even mention it if i wasn’t fairly sure of it.

I have no issues with '21 right now its just a different set of sliders than '20. The hitting and pitching definitely don't work on the same settings as '20. But I feel like I've finally hit a sweet spot, or am at least close. I follow all these threads but I don't like to constantly tweak sliders it drives me crazy.....the only thing right now I'm really watching is the pitching settings, I want it to be hard to get good hitters out.....but not IMPOSSIBLE...

So odd that I see control and consistency at high numbers and I'm over here loving it set at 2/0 for the human side with legend pitching difficulty. I actually issue walks now. Something that was hard to do even using quick counts starting with 3 ball counts sometimes.

I still don't issue many but definitely feel the difference. The jams I get myself into some innings are intense and make getting those tough outs so much more fun. I won a tough game 4-3 over Dodgers last night with them leaving 16 on base so it was pressure packed lol. And I can still have games like I did vs the Reds where they only had two hits against me all game.

I would be worried if I raised those high I'd strike out so many Iike I was doing beforehand and giving up maybe one walk a game. We all definitely follow all threads as we should. I've gotten different ideas to try from a number of them. I'm just trying to wrap my head around this control/consistency theory being so high when I'm at 2/0 now and finally feeling like I have to work hard to get some guys out.
