Brother I have never been able to make myself wait. I went with the updated roster and rolled.

I’m 0-3 after being swept by the Cards. I lost the first game 4-0, the second game 7-0, and we finally got on the board in the 3rd game and actually led until the 7th 3-2. They put 2 up on the board in the 7th and swept the series 4-3.

Infield practice is very challenging with these sliders. That is also another element added. Practice has become a fun part of the game.

The only time a double play is easy in this game is when there is a sharply hit grounder right AT someone. Any other time it is going to be a challenge which I like.

I can tell a lot of runs will be scored in 22 from fielder choice plays where the IF did not have enough time to turn a double play or get the man out from 3rd so they had to throw to 1st base.

A lot more elements in baseball are in play now.

I am starting my 162 game franchise tomorrow so I will have a lot more to add. But so far these sliders feel like real baseball.

We have noticed that there are less double plays this year. We are also noticing a little more fly balls but that might just be us. It is nice not getting 2-3 double plays per game.

You are right though. It is harder to get double plays as the runner can beat it out. That is partly cause of the arm strength at 0. We are testing reaction at 3 to see if it affects anything like that in a bad way. That probably would make it a tad easier to make a double play but not that much.

I can already tell it will be important to have pitchers who can strike people out and keep them off the base paths PERIOD. Strikeouts are going to limit the number of jams you get in.

            Re: S & B's Directional/Classic/Quick Counts MLB 22 Sliders

SDS did something with the exchange from glove to hand for the guy throwing to first base. It's a lot more natural looking therefore slower. Before you could preload the throw and nearly as soon as he caught it he was throwing to 1st for the second out. Whatever they did it is a welcomed change. So glad I won't lead the league in GIDP in my season for once lol.

But yes our fielding sliders and speed sliders work really well in combination together. I think a lot of ppl don't realize or underestimate how much they really impact gameplay and creating a more realistic experience. These are still a work in progress however. Right now we are attempting to get more extra base hits and just a tad less singles. Thanks, HC! Appreciate the feedback and look forward to seeing how your Mets season goes.

Quick question guys. I can’t find it, and I’m sure I’m just looking over it.

What are you guys testing the IF fielding errors at? Pretty sure I seen where you were dropping it from 8.

It is at 8. It was at 10 to try to get more errors but it just made them dive for a ball and have it get away instead of making the play. It made for more infield hits.

played 3 good games last night. moving that power back to 4 really helped

braves beat marlins 9-4 and I can say that I think just about all of the Braves runs came from hits not homers.!!

I was up so late I can't even remember the other 2 games I played. I think seattle had a awesome game 5-4 win over the tigers Dylon Moore homered in the 8th to win it. and Julio first at bat first swing was a homer in this game .

you know I tried playing 1 game on everything on default just to see the difference . and the game was extremely just auto default boring!!

that's how good these sliders are variety in games in hits in everything it's playing beautifully!

Glad that you are getting good games now and not home runs. At least now we know to not do power at 5.

Would love to gage everyone’s thoughts about the PS4 vs PS5 version of the game this year. Being a massive SOTS buff, and spending hours creating the sounds that make each park unique, I’m curious as to if this astute crowd has a grip on if the PS5 version of MLBTS22 is THAT much better than the PS4 version? (I am playing on my PS5 console, to note)

Last year the gap between the two wasn’t huge, in terms of graphics, even though I know this year there’s definitely an upgrade in smoothness and clarity for the next gen version.

These sliders have been suiting my games really well through the first 15 games of my chise, so big thanks to Bryan and co for these!

I know this is purely contextual and it all depends on what each person looks for in the game and what makes them tick, but if the jump to the PS5 version is THAT much better in your opinions, I’m really considering making the move.

SOTS is the one thing that makes this game so special to me because it’s something that I would die for all other sports games to have, to create the incredible atmosphere that so many sports venues have and truly make them feel different.

Hope you all are well and I would truly appreciate some of your well informed opinions.

I have a PS5 and last year I used the PS4 version so I could use the SOTS and there wasn’t much difference if you didn’t care for the create a stadium feature. But this year, I really think the PS5 version is well worth it and I’m not going to bother with the PS4 version. I will miss the SOTS but I think the trade off is better. I know Armor said he is going with the PS5 version as well for the same reason. But like you said, you have to go with what makes you going to love the game more.

I’m glad that you are enjoying the sliders.
