Will batting become a little easier?
The last several years they had directional/timing combined. This is the first year they separated them. If you use timing, you don’t have to worry about the directions. Somebody on here said it is is all ratings based on if they go the other way or not. If you use directional, it is supposed to act like timing if you don’t influence it. I don’t think either is harder or easier. The only thing that might affect you would be if you try to influence a pull on a outside pitch. It might give you weak contact. But I could be wrong on that.

Thanks for that response buddy ^^^ I’m gonna stick with timing for now and see how that goes. Already 1-0 and hit the ball well!

Fun franchise note: The Blue Jays just lost George Springer for the year and then go out next game and Ryan Yarbrough throws a perfect game on them in Toronto… ouch! This is the same Blue Jays team that started the season 14-0, an all time record! I love the random storylines that crop up outside of the Mets world!

What is everyone using for difficulty? I see All Star listed in the slider settings but Allstar + is mentioned in the text.

I usually play HOF so I dont want Allstar to be too easy

I use All-Star. I was using HoF with Armor's sliders but struggling badly, so I changed the All-Star with his sliders and it became too easy. With this set, All-Star seems to work very well. The game feels very "open" for lack of a better word. Someone mentioned in this thread, at one point, that All-Star actually works better for this set than Hall of Fame, but for the life of me I can't remember why.

Of course, the best settings are the ones that work best for you.

Thanks I will roll with All-Star and see... I was also struggling with Armor's set on HOF this year so I am trying these.

The theory behind using Allstar over a higher difficulty came about after we couldn't get any consistent cpu offense on HOF or even Legend. Every game was the same with the cpu scoring 1-3 runs and most were from a homerun.

My thought was with the higher difficulty level all it does is increase the size of the PCI. The extra large PCI caused more contact with the ball, but at the same time it caused more weak contact. So back in early June this year we went to Allstar pitching difficulty and right away it opened up the game and the cpu offense was more potent.

Since then we've adjusted some sliders for cpu hitting to get the balance and hit variety we want and we have landed with what you see on the OP now and locked in.

I use cpu hitting 8/5/5/8 but you can go with 7/5/5/8 (or 7) if it's too difficult. But 100% Allstar pitching difficulty is a must with these. Allstar+ would be fine as well I'm sure.

Hi everyone. I am enjoying these sliders very much. The type of hits and plays that I see is so varied and very enjoyable.

The one issue I have with All Star pitching with these sliders is that I rarely issue any walks. I have tried to change pitching delivery to Pinpoint or Pulse to add some variety, but I just can't seem to get the experience correct. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks.

Classic pitching is going to give you the better chance to issue walks. However, overall it's very difficult to get a realistic amount even with control at 0. Lowering consistency will only cause more hbp and/or meatballs thrown to an unrealistic amount.

The AI plate approach and discipline has always been really bad. They swing at a ball four at an extremely high rate IMO. Really there's not anything we can do about that. Personally over 98 games played I average 2.4bb per game so I can't complain.

One last suggestion is to use quick counts. That's going to give you far more 3 ball counts than if not using QC.

Used these sliders to begin my franchise with the Reds and I really enjoyed the gameplay. I was able to chase Stroman out early and then my batters struggled with Keegan Thompson. I still won 6-1, but I know it’s going to be a long season.

Will check back in after the month of April with a much larger sample size.

Good luck with the Reds. That will be a long season but it should be fun. Look forward to seeing how you do.

July 10: my Mets have dropped 3 straight to the Marlins and the offense has been so blah Billy Eppler knew a move had to be made. The Mets acquire Alejandro Kirk from the Blue Jays for Robinson Cano, Chasen Shreve, and pitching prospect Matt Allen (#10 prospect in org). The Jays just lost Bo Bichette for a while and needed some help at 2nd with Cano. Also Shreve fills a hole im their pen and Allen is a nice prospect for Kirk, who hasn’t been near as good as he has been irl. .680ish ops had him running behind Danny Jansen and Zach Collins. Fun fact is that Kirks first major league hit came off Chasen Shreve. Interesting trade between 2 first place teams that I think is somewhat realistic and should help both teams in the immediate

Well my Mariners lost game 5 to the Rays in the ALDS. Going to finish the playoffs and eventually do the offseason soon. Been playing around with a new Braves franchise using the newest live rosters. Hope everyone that is still using this set are enjoying it. Let us know your updates.

Not much of us are left on 22. But we are still going strong.

Just had the most amazing game ever... 12-2 down middle of the 8th, scored 11 unanswered to win. Had base's loaded with 2 out and raimel tapia hits a two run double for the win.. Unbelievable! PXL_20220831_223039202.MP.jpg

That is an awesome comeback. Nice to see those crazy games once in a while. I think the biggest comeback was like 7 runs one time.
