I think the sliders we have for hook and stamina will get you the best bullpen usage and realistic complete games. I don’t ever play cpu a cpu except for simming. But I think they would work.

Regarding rosters I found willard76 set gave me the most realistic results... I found viatorlion's set has the vision rating way too low leading to inflated k's

I’ve left this game several times over the lack of cpu offense. Even used Armors sliders on hall of fame for 40 games and stopped because I was 38-2 and other the 1 complete anamoly where the Reds scored 11 in the first and beat me 17-4, the cpu never scored more than 3 runs in any other game. I’ve tried default, different difficulties, dynamic, classic, meter, pulse, directional, zone, anything to try to make this game better. Decided to give these a try tonight and happily lost a game to the Phillies 10-5
        Each team had 2 homeruns
        They had 2 doubles
        I had 4 doubles
        They out hit me 15-9

I bet that was nice to see! I understand your frustrations. It shouldn’t be this hard to get a good competitive game or to have the CPU be dangerous. It took us a while with lots of testing to find this set.

But thank you fir trying these and I’m glad you had a good game. Let us know any updates or if you have any questions.

Thanks for all the time and testing. I know it had to be frustrating. I can’t lie, when I first looked at some of the numbers, especially fielder and runner speed, I was skeptical. Then I played a game and as I watched every ball that was fielded and the ones that dropped in for a hit, I realized just how much better the game can be when tuned. I will definitely continue to play with these and see where it goes.

Yeah our numbers are outside of the box. I think that is a reason a lot of people don’t try these and/or give up. Especially when everyone is used to playing close to default. Everything is where it is at for a specific reason. The IF arm strength lowered really helps with tuning down the double plays. I always led the league in hitting into them. Raising fielding errors actually makes things worse and gives you more bobbles for hits. Or when the infielder dives for the ball, it just deflects off the glove. So that is why we lowered that.

                Re: S & B's Directional/Classic MLB 22 Sliders

out of the 24 hits last night, 4 of them were off of a diving infielder's glove. There were also plays where the infielders bobbled and still made the play. So even turned down, it is still happening. It was nice that the outfield actually felt like it had space and line drives into the gap weren't being run down. Both of my homeruns were dead center, and pulled 2 foul that would have been long gone. The computer pulled one to right and hit one to center. Pitching wise I may bump consistency from 3 to 4.. struggled to hit the corners and get swings and misses. I also have to make an adjustment to myself on the hitting side. Did not take enough pitches and had a lot of weak contact. Will be playing a game or two tonight.

I think one was wanting to use meter pitching but I think it was too easy so they switched to classic. If you want to try meter, I would suggest lowering user consistency to 0 and giving it a shot. I have no clue about PCI hitting. I haven’t tried it.

I'm wondering if I should try directional hitting with these sliders. I use timed hitting, because I'm "offensively challenged". I'm using the original post settings, but Jose Ramirez is completely obliterating everything in sight in my franchise. Which is nice, except I'm a stat nerd and having 36 HR and 80 RBI right before the All Star break is bothering me. Franmil Reyes, yes THE Franmil Reyes has 24 HR and 68 RBI, and the only person in the league close to those RBI numbers is Jose Altuve. The only thing is, everything else is running great. The simulated numbers make sense, and the rest of my Guardians team is doing perfectly in terms of average, homers, etc... I really don't want to ruin any of that, or restart my franchise..but I also don't want to have a guy with 70 homers and 150 RBI at the end of the year.

That is crazy. With the Mariners franchise, I kept hitting home runs with Haniger. He finished with 60.

I don’t know if you just can pick up the ball better with certain guys or what. I would say he’s due for a slow down but that is still crazy. You can try directional and see if that helps. What is his batting average and your team batting average?

Sheesh, I mean I know Ramirez and Haniger can hit homers but not at this pace lol. Ramirez's average is .283, which is wonderful. The team average is .257 and is 2nd best in the AL. That makes sense, because Cleveland has a lot of contact bats. In fact, my "Big Three" of Ramirez (36), Reyes (24) and Naylor (21) are the only guys in double figures for homers. The next in line is Andres Gimenez with 7, and then Austin Hedges has 5, Bryan Rocchio has 3, Owen Miller has 2, Oscar Gonzalez ahs 1 and Steven Kwan has 1. Amed Rosario doesn't even have a home run so far.

I'm really hoping for a slow down/ law of averages situation, if not I may have to create one myself somehow lol.

Yeah you hate to change anything cause it would affect them. Lower the sliders when Ramirez bats lol

I would just let it roll. If he slows down, he does, if not, you’ll have a year like Judge is having.

I’m tempted to start a Guardians franchise.

That's what I'm going to do, I've come this far and I'm seriously loving the heck out of the way the game plays with these sliders. Even when I feel like my team is dominating, I see the standings and I'm only 6 games above .500 and in second place in the AL Central. And then I roll into Kansas City and lose two out of three in extras...so yeah, I love it lol.

I tried everything to not do a Guardians franchise, but they have everything I was looking for. A young team, good farm system, not expected to do much, small market...so I caved in and haven't regretted it.

That is good. I’m glad the sliders are working for you. I did a Mariners franchise and lost in the ALDS. Now in June in a Braves franchise but I’m kind of leaning towards starting a Indians franchise cause I want something different. Thought about doing that with a Pirates franchise but that might be too slow.
