I know you guys sort of got away from the wind dice roll last year, and totally understand why. I have kept it going, and for me it was a damn great idea!!!

I’m in St. Louis at the moment and the wind was 15mph in from right to start the game. It has died down to 11mph now, but if you don’t keep the ball down you will probably be out. I’m loving it 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I’ll get on to play in about 2 hours. I don’t know the user name but it was called Roster 2022. It had everybody except Cano which I had to add myself. There are others but they didn’t have a few other missing ones.

This one even has Greg Bird on the Yankees.

The foul frequency won’t affect strikeouts but it will affect balls keeping fair. We se more doubles down the line that stay fair with it at 0. Like other people said, it will keep your bad timing swings from going foul and keeping some of them fair.

Yeah, I plan on rolling with the dice roll this year. It was kind of boring seeing the wind at 3 mph every game with the slider at 2. But we felt we had to keep it there to tame the home runs. But it is fun to have the wind play a role. Sometimes you get to do the wind at 10 and it only gives you 7 mph or 20 mph.

I do the dice roll and set the wind for whatever the roll comes out. 11 is 1 and 12 is 0.

I do play all 162. It helps with quick counts. I don’t know if I could do the play one and sim a couple. I like seeing the player stats and knowing that was all my playing. Probably why I can’t ever play 2 seasons lol

You’re going to really enjoy it this year. Wind is playing huge this year. If it’s really blowing in, and we all know it blows hard in sometimes it really affects the big bats. It’s nice to see.

I can't remember exactly what we were doing with the dice roll. Last year the wind was so powerful with the ball flight we had to turn it down or it was homeruns galore so many times.

They definitely have toned down how much the wind effects the ball this year. It is still noticeable but not a ridiculous amount where it's obvious it's causing problems with what we want to achieve with the sliders. Since they I'll say fixed it, I am going to give it a go with the dice roll again to change wind speeds during a game.

But I need a reminder how it works so I can try it out lol

For you or cpu? How many hits are you averaging per game for the cpu and you hitting?

It don’t seem to make the ball take hyper speed flight out of the park like last year. Also with it blowing in last year say at 15mph you still could see multiple long balls hitting into the wind. I just finished a game with it blowing in from right at a good clip, and not a single ball left the yard. You could hear it and see it being crushed , and then watch the wind put the breaks on it. It was real nice!!

I did see a couple of hard hit lower trajectory doubles though. So it really was only affecting the moon shots in a major way.

Yeah that sounds way more realistic from last year. So how does it work again? 5th inning you do a random # right?

This is really interesting to me. I’ll assume this will affect the good swings as well? It must have a significant affect to go down to zero.

I roll before each game and then again in the top of the 5th. That’s just how I have done it for the last two years.

What I used to is and I’ll do this year is a dice app on my phone or even a random number generator from 1-10. And if it rolls a 7 then you set the wind for 7. You can also do it again in the 5th inning to make it change.

I remember one user a couple of years ago had an average wind chart for each stadium and month. So like there was a setting for Wrigley Field in April. He tracked the average wind speed for each city during the time of year and came up with a slider number for the wind. That was pretty cool as well. Can’t remember where it is buried at.
