    Re: S & B's Directional/Classic/Quick Counts MLB 22 Sliders

I beat the Phillies 6-5 in 12 innings. Díaz blows his first save when we were up 4-2 in the 9th. DeGrom went 6 innings 3bb 11k and 0er. Bullpen gave up a two run homer to Harper then the blown save.

The big cost was losing Pete Alonso for 2-3 months. Dominic Smith will start at 1B and I have called up Catcher Patrick Mazeika, who can also play at 1st if needed.

Solid hits at 7 isn't working for me. I just tried to play a game and the CPU kept getting hits no matter what.
I am deeper into the season so its a little different.
The starter got chased in the second inning and then the reliever struggled. Hit after hit after hit

That can happen even to the best pitchers though. I've shutout the cpu three times in the 11 played and have a 6-5 record. There are just games where you'll get beat badly and then games where you dominate pitching. But at the end of the day use sliders as a base to start from and tweak things for your own personal set to use.

Been having a blast with these sliders but have recently run into a problem. Basically I'm stuck between Veteran+ and All-Star for hitting. Veteran+ is where I have more or less settled as anytime I move up to All-Star I just suck, I struggle to do much more than solo shot homeruns. Problem is Veteran+ is ever so slightly too easy, so looking for some advice on what sliders to tweak to just make Veteran+ a little bit more difficult. I'm thinking either notching down timing or upping pitch speed.

Glad you're having fun! I would suggest lowering pitch speed and stick with Allstar hitting.

I just played the Astros who always hit against me and I held them to a .215 BA over the 3 game series.

Your aces are going to have some bad games and your #5 starter is going to have some good games.

I understand though. It is frustrating when none of your pitchers have anything that game. Just remember what the Cubs felt when they lost 20-5 lol

The manager was probably like….damn we need to lower the solid hit slider lol

                      Marlins 3 9 0
                      Mets 0 5 1

Another game where they jumped out early. Bassitt was on the mound and he shut them down after getting jumped on early. He pitched 7 innings with 4 K's and 1 BB.

I couldn't hit Rogers the starter at all. He pitched 8.1 innings for the win. He was hitting the corners all game.

I am getting used to the new sliders. I just had to adjust my pitching strategy a little.

                      Current Division Standings
                      Mets(50-23).685

                      Nationals(28-44).378 22.5 gb

The Phillies are coming on strong they have been on a tear the past few weeks. Despite my record I only have a 6 game lead. Still plenty of games left. Anything can happen.

With that record and the start that you had you are due for a little slump.

I won 10 in a row after a stretch where I was 2-8 and lost 4 in a row at one point.

                            S & B's Directional/Classic MLB 22 Sliders

The updated sliders are playing well for me (except I kept human timing at 5). Lost both games against the Cardinals. First game 2-1 on a brilliant pitching matchup between Ryu and Flaherty. The next game, Toronto was up 4-0 after jumping on Wainwright in the first inning. However, Berrios and Cimber allowed 9 runs to cross in the 6th. Borucki was hammered in the 8th and the score finished 12-4 for the Cardinals.

3 innings into my first game against the Angels and I am up 2-0 thus far after getting to Syndegaard in the top of 3. Had to save it, but will continue it after work.

Sliders seem to be in a good spot. I’m getting hit variety, but you’re right - the CPU is more threatening currently. Although in game one I limited them to 2 runs so I know it can be done. I’ve also bumped errors up 1 for both IF and OF. Wasn’t seeing any so now I’m at 3 IF and 2 OF.

PS: I play HOF both pitching and hitting. Play every pitch of every game.

Going to go up Allstar+ hitting but raise timing back up to 5 for me and the cpu. Still feel the cpu offense could use a bit more hits even on HOF pitching. Idk how many less strikeouts I will get vs them but I think I can still manage to get a good amount. I will report back after 20 games or so on this change.

                                Mets 4 6 1
                                Houston 3 6 0

Carrasco pitched 5.2 inning and gave up 3 runs. Not that great but good enough to give me a chance to win. Escobar hit a solo shot in the 8th to break a 3-3 tie.

I find it interesting the real life Mets are winning for similar reasons that I am.

Modern baseball is a 5 inning game meaning all you need is 5 or 6 good innings from your starter and then the bullpen comes in 1 inning at a time. If you can consistently get better pitching for those 5-6 innings you can win if you have a good bullpen.

Alonso is the only true power hitter the Mets have on the game. Everyone will hit homers off of contact and pitcher mistakes.

You have contact hitters all over the lineup. Defense isn't the greatest but good pitching WILL make any defense better. Nimmo and Marte have good speed so that makes the OF defense better than the what the ratings indicate. Lindor at SS is the glue that keeps the IF together. Bench players are decent as well.

In MLB the Show terms the Mets are the perfect storm. After I finish this season I will use a different team.
After this season Degrom is probably not coming back so next years squad will be much different.
