Timing at 5 seems to only give cpu more homeruns but not a higher batting average. So I am deciding to go back how we were last year and pitch on legend difficulty. I will use OP sliders for cpu hitting, so their timing back at 4. A 5/3/4/7 hitting setup.

It may be too much but it is frustrating the lack of cpu offense if you want realistic homerun numbers from them. It's like the only way to get them to have realistic batting averages is to allow them to hit massive amounts of homeruns which isn't fun at all to have the cpu score 75%+ of their runs via homerun.

Sorry for the rant but this year's game is frustrating me. May not be a popular opinion, but gameplay wise 2021 was much better than this year. It was not near this difficult to tune in sliders once we realized legend pitching was the way to go so my hope is that will get the cpu to be more of a realistic threat consistently.

Held cpu to 5 hits. Scherzer went 8 innings, had a perfect game through 7 innings until a solo homer in the 8th. His final line was 8ip 2h 2er 1bb 12k.

Trevor May was terrible out of the pen giving up 3 hits, 1bb, and 4er (3 run homerun). I almost lost the game after being up 8-1 entering the 9th cause of him.

Dbacks finished with just 5 hits. Needless to say, but I am 100% going to pitch on Legend difficulty from here on out. If I can hold down the cpu that way once then it is possible to do it again. From last years experience on legend which gave absolute perfect hit distribution and cpu batting averages, I have a good feeling that this is the best way to go about playing vs the cpu on MLBTS anymore.

In MLB the Show terms the Mets are the perfect storm. After I finish this season I will use a different team.

After this season Degrom is probably not coming back so next years squad will be much different.

DeGrom will be a Met next year in real life unless his injury is just not recoverable.

Considering stopping my Mets franchise and starting another one with a different team. Maybe even one that is way less talented. Winning so much with the Mets its is getting kind of anti climatic. I already know I can win.

I am thinking of trying the Rays but they are pretty good BUT they play in tough division with the Yanks and Blue Jays. The Rays pitching is not as good as the Mets which is going to change the game entirely.

That would be like total opposite from the Mets lol

The Mariners are fun to use. Can be a contender or seller depending on how it plays out. And they can struggle at times.

I actually kind of want to use the Pirates but Im not quite sure how good or bad they are. I will have to look at the roster.

Its looking like the Rays are going be my choice but I will be researching before I start this weekend.

Do you think it is unrealistic to do a Rays franchise and sign Micheal Conforto. He is hurt is not playing this year.
But he is on the game. I may just sign him and keep him in the minors because the Rays have speedy defensive OF's

1B and 3B also need a upgrade but I may just keep who I have because I don't want to make an unrealistic trade.

I am considering overriding the trade logic to make a trade for ONE good player to add to the roster just to make it interesting. But I might not I want to keep the realism.

I think I will forget about the trade idea. That is just too unrealistic. The free agent market has 1B that are better than what I have. Forcing a trade is too unrealistic.

Still considering adding Conforto. Maybe I should play a month worth of games. If I need another bat then I can make that move.

I want to trade for Micheal Busch the young 2B prospect from the Dodgers and give him the 1B job (secondary position). His rating is only 70 and its gives him time to grow over the season without me adding a player that is going to be so good that it throws the realism off. Plus the Dodgers wouldn't need him this year anyway so its not messing them up.

The guy I have now at 1B Choi is in his 30's and rated as 68.
