    Re: S & B's Directional/Classic/Quick Counts MLB 22 Sliders

Fielding is the worst I can ever remember for this game, especially the infield. Fielding errors at 0 I still see actual fielding errors believe it or not. And to be honest it's about the same amount as I did with it at 3. But at 0 it does stop the jobbing and diving to knock ball down etc.

I love the throwing errors at 10 though. Give it a few games or so to settle in cause at first it may give you a bunch at once. I have many games with 0 errors still. I just look at throwing errors as errors in general. Doesn't matter how, just to have some makes the game that more realistic.

      Rays 2 10 0
      Jays 1 8 0

Rays win a pitchers duel to get my record to 2-2.

Yarborough my starter lasted 6.2 innings and pitched better than I thought that he would. When things are rolling downhill the Rays play lockdown defense. The OF are very speedy and will run most balls down. After playing 4 games the Rays seem to have 2 or 3 power hitters and the rest are singles and doubles hitters.
Tremendous speed on the base paths. This team can fly.

Any word on if the fielding sliders are due to be updated? Saw some chat about reaction at 4, fielding errors at 0, throwing at 10. Saw other variations too, but wondering if any are ready to be locked in?

Thank you for checking. We are going to probably lock it in with below changes.

          Infield Fielding errors at 0
          Reaction at 4
          Infield Throwing Errors at 10
          Baserunner speed at 3
          Infield Throwing Power at 2

We will be most likely be updating the sliders with our Allstar pitching sliders. Between Steve and I, we tested about 30 games with them and they are looking good. Trying to iron out a few things first.

          Things we are trying.

          CPU Contact at 7
          CPU Power at 3
          CPU Timing at 8
CPU Solid Hits at 9 or 10

          User Control at 2
          User Consistency at 3

Steve has tried 9 and it felt good but the CPU could use a little more hits. At 10, they are almost TOO powerful. So you are more than welcome to try one of these out.

It is just CRAZY that Allstar is this much different than HOF.

Offense for both sides has gotten harder since the last update.
It has gotten more difficult to string together hits during the game. Harder to drive in runners in scoring position. You have to really crush a ball just to get it to the warning track.

I had something happen for the first time. I hit a MAJOR LEAGUE fly ball meaning that it went SUPER high before the OF caught it. Major league pop ups and fly ball haven't really been happening in MLB the Show. They definitely have changed the physics of this game recently. It was like the highest traveling fly ball I have hit in this game.

Are you using the solid hits at 7 for user? I actually lowered my solid hits to 6 because I was seeing too many doubles.

For hitting, you could raise power to 4 that will help.

Pitching, is it too easy for you? And are you trying the Allstar pitching?

My Pitching is getting ready to make it to Hall Of Fame level on my dynamic rating so that will be getting harder.

My hitting is veteran+ with the contact at 6. I could just be having hitting troubles due to the fact my first two series were the Red Sox and the Jays. The Red Sox and Jays don't really have traditional power pitchers and have been using a lot of off speed and breaking pitches. My next series is against the Orioles so I think my fortunes should change.

Okay, let us know. Are you using direction or timing setting?

For pitching, if you want to try what we are testing while you are on Allstar. We are hoping that will keep the cpu more dangerous.

As crazy as it may seem, switching to Allstar pitching and raising cpu solid hits to 9 and 10 has made the cpu much better offensively. And the strikeouts are still there because of it being on Allstar pitching difficulty.

On HOF or even Legend the cpu offense was very weak, even with solid hits at 7. And the strikeouts on legend were pretty rare. Give straight Allstar pitching a shot with cpu solid hits at 9 or 10. We should have it all tested and sorted out by the weekend.

I am using directional hitting with the PCI.

I struggled for a bit and I switched to timing and for some reason that helped a lot. I heard that it didn’t make a difference and maybe it was a coincidence but my hitting improved once it changed. On directional, felt like the ball was heavy off the bat. Probably just in my head lol

Thank you very much for this and for yours and Steve’s hard work. I will plug in the fielding / running sliders tonight and give them a bash.

Probably will keep the other sliders as they are for now. I feel CPU offence is in a good spot for me on HOF pitching. I can get a shutout one game and then give up 5-10 runs the next. Getting a good mix of wins and losses.

Thanks again for your hard work! Really enjoying the sliders.

                            1st 2 games of a 3 game series.

My record with Tampa is 5-3 so far. The Rays starters are somewhat decent but it is harder to get 5-6 good innings out of them on a consistent basis. I need to figure out a lineup where my hitting is more consistent.
CPU Solid hits at 8 is working pretty good. I may even put it up higher. Still using dynamic for hitting and pitching.

It has gotten more difficult to string together hits during the game. Harder to drive in runners in scoring position. You have to really crush a ball just to get it to the warning track.
Ok, I thought this was just in my head, all of a sudden my offense is horrible and I'm striking out a ton. I got swept at home by the Nationals, blew a late game lead in all 3 games because I decided against walking Juan Soto whom hit 4 HRs off my bullpen in 3 games.

I really hope the Rockies go out and trade for a great RP in real life so I can have a shot, my bullpen is an atrocity, lol. I should have thought of that when I was choosing this year's franchise team.

Another thing is that the pitchers are hitting the corners with more precision. You cant take pitches and get walks like you used to.
