Most of the time if you pitch to that next guy he will get a hit or worse, a homerun. The game has been this way with the two out deal for cpu for years now. Bringing in a new RP I can most of the time get that last out.

What's crazy is say, you leave the RP in and give up that 2 out rbi. The very next batter for the 3rd out will be the easiest out from the three that inning.

So I ended up taking a few hours yesterday and going through the most recent live roster (as mine is from the beginning of the season) and saving all of the most updated attributes for the league's pitchers then updating my franchise via edit player. It helped because my preseason closer, Daniel Bard, was 64 rating, the newest roster has him at 76 so he's much better and we closed out two games easily.

It also allowed me to update guys like Clay Holmes, Shane McClanahan and others around the league to be a bit more accurate with their current updates. I also did a bunch of the top batters for each team.

I actually do this for every update within my Mets franchise. Keeps me from wanting to restart lol. Doesn't take crazy long time if you have a laptop and sort by team.

Exactly, I was thinking about restarting with a better bullpen, this made me feel much better.

The throwing baserunning and fielding sliders are at absolute perfection. No problems there. If you want more/less errors, more/less powerful throws etc etc just adjust it to your preference.

sry if a newb question, but is quick count preferred because it's the only way to get pitch counts into realistic ranges? like, if one preferred to play without quick counts, is there another known slider/settings strategy to achieve those lifelike pitch counts?

Welcome! Hope you like these. These should work good without using quick counts. We didn’t test these without them this year but we did last year and they worked fine. Would love to hear your feedback.

                Re: S & B's Directional/Classic MLB 22 Sliders

So after we nailed down our pitching sliders, we started testing the hitting sliders. We weren’t seeing consistent offense from our side. One nice thing is, Steve is using Veteran and I’m using Allstar. So they should work for any difficulty. With timing so low, you are going to have to be a really good hitter to hit on the higher levels.

And like Always, if you are happy with your hitting, then feel free to stay where you are.

                User sliders
                Contact: 7
                Power: 4
                Timing: 1
                Solid Hits: 5

The pitching stamina is user preference. We are currently using user stamina at 5 for both SP and RP. The CPU we have both at 6. Hook is at 7 and 10 once you get to the bullpen.

It feels like we can preserve energy better than the CPU. We have seen higher stamina rated guys go 120-130 pitches. We have seen guys with stamina rating in the 60’s only able to go about 70-75 pitches. And sometimes those pitchers are only able to go 4 or 5 innings.

Tyler Wells was rated 64 stamina and the Orioles were up 2-1 and he had 73 pitches and they pulled him after 4 IP when he was in yellow energy. My first thought, okay they didn’t try to get him to go to 5 IP to try for the win. But he was getting tired and he was young. We would rather have him pull him then leave him in red to get smacked around. That is why the hook is at 7.

Let us know if you have any questions or feedback. We would love to hear it and try to help you out if possible. These are finally locked in.

Just wanted to add in. Pitching difficulty should be straight Allstar. The pitching sliders and cpu hitting sliders will not work the same on any other difficulty. AS+ would probably work fine but tested fully on Allstar pitching difficulty.

Thanks! These are working great. I'm going to try to up the CPU foul balls. MLB games have about 50 of them per game whereas my sims have been getting somewhere around 25, so I think that's partially where the sim pitch counts stay low.

That should also help add to your pitch counts as well. Let us know how that works.

Hate to ask again but what is your simulation sliders set to again for pitchers? Starter stamina on 1? Default everything else besides injuries?

Not a problem. The simulated sliders are below.

                          Starter stamina: 0
                          RP Stamina: 8
                          Hook: 7

This helps control complete games. But it also lets the starters stay in longer so the relievers don’t have 100+ appearances.

Well I was 27-27 in 3rd place and then I won 18 in a row and moved up to first place. The first 5-6 games were really good and exciting but towards the end they became easy wins with no cpu offense. Luckily I did have a cloud save on my switch from where I was 27-27 so I transferred that to my PS5 and started back from that point with our new sliders.

I was 7 games back and just had a big series against the first place Astros and I ended up sweeping them so now I’m 33-30 at 4 games back.

                              How’s your franchise going?
