    Re: S & B's Directional/Classic/Quick Counts MLB 22 Sliders

Played another pitch only test game. Rockies vs Giants at the old Shibe Park. Tried to look for one with a larger outfield. It's either Shibe or Polo grounds, so I decided to try Shibe park.

Some wonky foul pole in RF that's built into the RF wall. Giants hit the pole for a homerun when I thought it was just off the wall lol. Anyways a complete different game outside of Coors. Giants got 15 hits but the whole game felt natural. Rockies held to only 7 hits. Pitching only is like pitching two games so to see 15 hits then 7 hits is great and on par to what I've been seeing playing my Mets franchise.

    SFG 7 15 0 (1BB 5K) 3 2B, 3HR
    COL 3 7 0 (1BB 4K); 3 2B

My only small concern is low strikeout numbers. But neither Logan Webb or Senzatela are strikeout pitchers, and I've gotten them with actual strikeout pitchers. Just something to keep an eye on though.

EDIT- Looking at some minor league stadiums in the game and the options there for Colorado are much better. They have a park with mountains in the background. There are a handful that appear to have larger outfields. The Porch looks most like a modern MLB stadium for an option as well. So definitely will be choosing one of those if and when I play Colorado on the road in a franchise. I feel a lot better and less stressed out about the Coors Field fiasco now lol

What team are you going with?

Here are our updates that we will probably put on the OP soon.

      CPU contact: 8

      CPU timing: 5

      CPU solid hits: 8
I play with the Blue Jays. I will try and test at some point but on holiday at the min. Thanks for the update!

I played with HOF batting with A+S sliders and legend pitching... Should I bring them down to the levels set in the set then to work best?

Use what is working for you for hitting. For pitching, yes drop to Allstar for these to work as intended.

Hey guys long term lurker here. You might remember me from your 2020 thread and then I disappeared. Long story short I was playing MLBTS and we had a thunderstorm that knocked out the power and my entire PS4 crashed. I was devastated. I've never completed a season before but that year was the furthest I ever made it. I was like 10 games after the AS break. I couldn't get into MLB 21 but this year has got me hooked. I'm actually using one of your much earlier versions of sliders, but with tweaks to my own liking. I don't necessarily stat chase, but I love competition. I want that feeling no matter what I do, there are games I just won't win. So I'm 31-23 now, 3.5 games ahead of the Braves having an absolute ball. I've had two big losing streaks, two big winning streaks, high scoring games, low scoring games, and legit everything in between. It's been a stressful blast.

With that said, I don't want to screw up anything regarding roster stuff. I play as the Mets. I know the game of baseball like the back of my hand, but roster stuff I'm not the best at. Trevor May has been an absolute f*cking nightmare and I need him to go. I tried to sign a free agent but I get an error that says I can't afford it. Like it's the Mets hello Cohen money. Anyway, if I designate him for assignment and he leaves, do I retain his salary and I still won't be able to afford a new player. I was offering somebody a year for 1.5 million. I had not made any moves of any kind before that. So does that mean I have to do a trade in order to get somebody, or is there a way to increase my budget or something? Don't mean to hijack this thread, just have always loved your guys' thread better than everyone else's. Thanks!!

So I'm 5 innings into my first game vs the Orioles (I'm blue jays). .. Losing 8 4! 11 hits on my end 8 to the orioles. Only 1 hr so far. I gave up 7 in the third... Having a blast though!

Glad you are liking our sliders. With budgets on, there are a couple of teams that are in the red for budget. The Mets and Dodgers. Which is dumb that the game does that. There is no real life salary cap. Unfortunately, you are better off trading Trevor May to a team that would give you the cheapest player back in return to help your budget. And I am not sure if they would even let you trade if it’s not going to get you out of red. I hope it won’t say can not trade due to budget constraints.

There isn’t a way to increase your budget except for sponsors.

If you release May, it will tell you what you would have to pay for the penalty.

Let us know if you have any questions. I know Steve is using the Mets so I’m not sure how he’s handling it.

Well that is super lame and makes no sense to me lol. I guess I'll play around with my AAA and AA guys and see if I can get somebody else up. I've sent him down once for a while but it didn't help. He doesn't even have a snowflake. I just can't pitch with him so maybe I'll send him down for good. Thanks for the help!

I am 45-37 with the Mets currently and I had same problem with Trevor May lol. Early in the year Curtiss was injured and I brought up Joely Rodriguez. He has been so good for me, era under 2 good.

So when Curtiss came back I sent Trevor down instead with his 6.63era. Well just last night I brought him back and sent Curtiss down who has been awful since returning. He's over 6era now and giving up homeruns. Trevor had 13 appearances in AAA with a 3.48era in 10.1ip. Not great but figure I would give him another chance.

Chasen Shreve is on the IL now for me and I have Claudio up so I can still gave two lefties in the bullpen. He's been okay, but Joely has been lights out all year.

The off-season will be tough cause I assume we will have to cut payroll some. Idk if we can trade anyone or not but I hope so cause I need a power bat and another bullpen arm wouldn't hurt.

Good question, I have no idea I'll check out later on today after work. I ended up doing what the Mets did in real life as far as getting Michael Givens. He was in AAA for the Cubs but a 70 overall. I don't know if this is a terrible trade in real life but I really don't care lol. I gave them Trevor May (74 overall) and D prospect for their 3B needs and they accepted. I rarely ever do trades. I normally pick up FAs or use the farm system, so this was kinda cool actually. I know getting rid of him saved me some money too.

haha that's great to hear I'm not the only one. My hitting stats are perfect as far as team totals. In literally every single hitting stat, I'm between 5th and 10th place for the league, even walks. And I'm not even the least striking out team this year, I'm in 8th for that. I'm getting some amazing stats that I don't normally care about, but because the game is playing so well I guess that is a side effect. Now my pitching has been worse. I have a team 4.32 ERA good for like 25th. So I'm struggling a bit there but I'm top ten in strikeouts, and have not walked the fewest batters in the league, another cool stat that I usually lead in- a testament to how well the game is playing. My starters all have been generally decent. DeGrom and Scherzer a smidge over their career ERAs, but #2 and #3 in strikeouts, respectively, which is pretty cool. I actually use David Peterson as long term relief arm as a lefty. I just never pitch that well in this game with lefties. And I ALSO am doing great with Joely with his 3.12 ERA this year. Edwin has been lights out all year, but the rest of the bullpen is in the 4-5 ERA range, which is suspect. I could definitely use another bullpen arm as well. The way I play is if the Mets don't start with a guy, I manually injure them at the start of the season (unless it's a superstar, like DeGrom). So I won't use Curtiss lol. Chasen Shreve I put back down to AAA and Claudio I haven't tried yet either.

My team ERA is 2.93 which is 1st in the league. Interesting to see your different team stats. Not home to look but I know I'm 1st in strikeouts with deGrom and Scherzer #1, #2. Joely ERA is below 2. Díaz has blown a couple saves but overall been dominant.

My team batting is where I'm low. Pete Alonso missed 60 games early on. He's back now luckily. But because of that I'm like 26th in homeruns, but was 29th forever before he came back. I'm good batting average wise, but because of lack of homeruns we are near the bottom for runs scored. Pitching has definitely carried us, but with Alonso back the hope is we can score more runs and go on a big win streak.

Unfortunately I just lost my last two games. Houston beat me 2-1, the Texas beat me 5-4. A 3 run homer killed me vs Texas. Homer given up by Curtiss who was sent down for Trevor after the game lol.
