Have you been using other settings than 2.0 like Darth has?

I am going to start a franchise with the Orioles tonight since there will be a roster update with Tatis today and want to use the most current version.

I just got shut out 3-0 by the Padres.

Blake Snell pitched a complete game shut out with
10 K and 3 BB.

He is a left hander and I could not figure him out.
I had chances to score I just could not get the right batter to the plate with runners on.

Toughest pitcher I have seen on here this year.

Kodai Senga my starter made some early mistakes but overall didn't pitch bad.

I even struck out looking to end the game.

It just wasn't my day.

We are testing pitching and we believe contact at 7 is a good balance.

So we are testing:

CPU
Contact: 7
Power: 6
Timing: 7
Foul Freq: 0
Solid hits: 4

We are planning on keeping control and consistency at 3/2.

Contact at 5, the CPU would take too many pitches right down the middle for strike 3. But the hits felt realistic. Contact at 6 was a little better but were still seeing easy outs and you didn't have that fear facing hitters. So we will continue testing these if anyone wants to try them as well.

I was doing that for my own hitting. Hitting is such a personal thing dependent on how well you read pitches and time swings. But we are going to drop cpu contact some and just bite the bullet and take the Ks with it. Some games will be less than 10 but not very many.

Man o' man, in reading through the last few comments I'm convinced you ALL are pitching Gods

The strikeout totals you are getting are absolutely crazy, hell if I remember correctly, the bast game I had was striking out 9, and I thought I was special...

I figure I must suck or am extremely lucky in that I don't have that issue at all, there are times when I'm lucky to gat anywhere between 4-6 strikeouts a game.

I have been thinking about it also for the last few days...could the higher strikeout totals be tied somehow to those of you using QC?

I'm pitching every pitch and it seems like my success rate is a lot lower than those of you using QC...just a theory of mine but one that I have noticed in regards to those of you using QC .

Making the change from Buttons to Button Accuracy fielding. I have been practicing and I am ready to make the change.

I am finally used to how the reactions of the fielders are.

I like having more control of what the fielders do when they have to make plays.

I did leave Version 1.1 up (it is hidden) on the OP if you want to go back to using that if you were getting better games with them. I think you just have to click on the spoiler button.

I wish SDS would just make those updates on competitive mode only and leave simulation alone.

It's funny you mention those sliders as I still have that file downloaded and thought about giving them another shot.

IIRC those played out very well but as usual my curiosity had gotten the better of me and started making changes based on what you guys were doing

The one thing I cannot stand is going down the "rabbit hole" and getting slideritis, and I am (to a degree) starting to get that feeling, but my damn curiosity keeps getting the better of me..

It's funny you mention those sliders as I still have that file downloaded and thought about giving them another shot.

IIRC those played out very well but as usual my curiosity had gotten the better of me and started making changes based on what you guys were doing

Slideritis is a disease and a lot of us suffer from it.

Sorta wish we could go back to that and just enjoy the game for what it is.

Yeah, and when we announce a change, you don’t have to follow if you aren’t seeing what we are seeing. I think version 2 was to fix the amount of strikeouts we have been seeing. But you never had that issue.

Looks like Tatis is out. I wish they'd make some more roster updates though. As a Cardinals fan, it hurts to see that Jordan Walker has basically the same batting stats as Taylor Motter . They also still have him listed as a LF when he's played all of his games in RF this year.

It is, but there's a difference between what you think you're seeing vs what's actually happening. That's why we track data on a spreadsheet so after so long we can visually see what is happening.

I do remember days before sliders on Sega and super Nintendo etc lol. Ps1 may not have had them either.

I never said I had to follow anything, I said my curiosity got to me...but alas with that being the case I'm going to bow out of this thread now I seem to have ruffled some feathers....so enjoy the game and good luck in your ventures.
